A
video package airs, highlighting events that took place Saturday night at
Meltdown, with Greg Tantalus returning to screw Jackie Baccaro out of the International
Championship, Romeo winning the ORA Championship from GI Jew with help from the
Army of the Damned, and Hollywood Mike Griffin retaining the PWA Championship
over Jason Calysto, thanks to botched interference from Scythe. From
there,
Ferrara: That’s right,
Oasis' "F*ckin In The Bushes" explodes
through the PA system, cutting Ferrara off and bringing the crowd to its feet
as The Iceman Jason Calysto walks out through the curtain. The PWA's only active Hall of Fame wrestler looks to be in no
mood for amusement this evening, as he power walks to the ring and immediately
demands a microphone before his music stops.
Calysto:
Okay, you all saw it. We all saw what happened at Meltdown. Once again, The
World Heavyweight Title was within my reach, and once again, I was robbed of my
rightful place atop this company. Sure, The Legacy got
involved and we all knew they would. Every match
Calysto is interrupted as
Scythe:
Alright Jason, I know you're upset about what happened. You're entitled to that
and I can understand it. But the reason I was out there is simple. It doesn't
matter if you expected The Legacy to interfere or not, everyone that watched it
saw them getting ready to pick you apart and leave you lying for
Calysto:
That's all fine and good, but what am I supposed to think man?
Scythe:
You should think that I was trying to help you out, but you wouldn't know
anything about that.
Calysto:
What the hell are you talking about?
Scythe:
You don't remember last week Jay? The Legacy was in there trying to cost me my
title shot and you didn't bother helping me.
Calysto:
I told you beforehand that I did not wanna see you
win the title. I wanted a one-on-one match against
Scythe:
It’s not about that Jay! Last week, the entire Legacy ran out here and not only
cost me my match, they beat the living hell out of me
for minute while you sat there and did nothing! That has nothing to do with a
title match Jason, that has to do with you being selfish!
The two men bicker until Metallica's
"Sad But True" begins to play and Bryan
Conroy walks out. The PWA's Chief Owner is flanked by
Helen Summers, F. Anthony Annetta and the new ORA World Heavyweight
Champion Romeo, who beams with joy as he shows off his newly-won
championship.
Ferrara:
You have to remember, Bryan Conroy does still own this company. As for the
rest of them, who knows?
The quartet all climb into the ring and FAA
quickly fetches a microphone for Conroy, but glares at Calysto during the
process.
Conroy: Gentlemen,
gentlemen. Before we get any further, let’s talk about something that is
actually important. Attention
Boos pour over Conroy's words as Romeo holds his
title belt into the air for all to see.
Conroy:
Now guys, I was listening to your little squabble earlier and I think both of
you have good points. However, the entire argument is irrelevant on both ends.
Face it fellas, no one cares. So instead of taking
out more time of what should be our broadcast of ORA celebration, you can
listen as I get right to the point here. Scythe, what you did at Meltdown was
downright inexcusable. (Crowd boos) In fact, you don't need to make an excuse.
You actually made me quite pleased. Your actions kept the PWA Title away from
this piece of trash Calysto, and because of that, I am naming you as the number
one contender to the ORA Title and you will face Romeo for the gold on July 24
at our next pay-per-view spectacular, Live From
The crowd cheers as Scythe nods his head in
agreement. Calysto grabs him by the arm to question him, but the distraction
gives Romeo an opening to fold up his belt and crack Scythe right in the head
with it! Scythe falls to the ground and FAA joins in, delivering a series of
stomps down on The Modern Day Samurai.
Calysto is hesitant at first, but eventually pounds
Annetta from behind and tosses him over the top rope. Romeo goes after Calysto,
but he ducks a clothesline before connecting with one of his own to send Romeo
out as well! The crowd is going crazy as Conroy's troops backpedal up the ramp.
Conroy:
Alright! You guys wanna fight so bad?!
Meet them in a tag match tonight!
Calysto:
You got it!
"F*ckin In The
Bushes replays as the ORA group backs up the ramp with their feathers ruffled
as we take our first commercial break.
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
Back from commercial, "Da Repercussions" by
50 Cent overtakes the speakers and the fans begin booing raucously as Mike
Grieco makes his way to the ring.
Troy: What we have
here, folks, is a match to determine who will challenge new International
Champion Paul Dawkins for the gold Live From
As
Grieco readies himself in the ring, "Footprints" by G-Unit hits and
the fans explode with cheers as Showtime Damon Savage emerges. Showtime
rides the wave of approval from the crowd as he heads toward the ring and gets
inside, standing toe-to-toe with his opposition. However, before the
match can get started, "Black" by Sevendust hits and the fans begin
cheering loudly.
Dawkins believes otherwise, and walks over to the commentary table, taking a
seat next to Paul Ferrara. As he does so, the bell sounds and the match
gets underway.
* MIKE GRIECO VS. SHOWTIME DAMON SAVAGE *
REFEREE: JASON CHURCH
Dawkins: I didn't
think you guys would mind me joining you out here.
Dawkins: Thanks, I
appreciate it.
Grieco
and Showtime lock up in the ring and it immediately becomes a battle of
strength, with Grieco establishing the early advantage. Grieco shoves Showtime
down to the mat, and the fans boo loudly. Showtime, however, gets right
back up and shoves Grieco down, which the fans eat up. Grieco gets up
again, and Showtime dropkicks him down, and the fans begin cheering wildly.
Dawkins: Looks like Grieco's having a tough time in there.
Grieco
slides out of the ring and regroups on the outside momentarily before heading
back inside. When he returns inside, Showtime runs at him, swinging a
clothesline, but Grieco ducks and nails Showtime with a belly-to-belly
suplex! Showtime hits the mat hard and Grieco responds by locking him in
an armbar. Showtime struggles in the hold but,
ultimately, is able to fight his way back to a vertical base and work his way
out, elbowing Grieco in the jaw repeatedly. Once Grieco releases the
hold, Showtime whips him off the ropes and nails a big back body drop!
Grieco
gets up, dazed, and Showtime begins looking for the kill. Savage nails
Grieco with a hard axe kick and, to the delight of the
Dawkins: I don't
know, but it can't be good for Showtime!
Vydrina
and Showtime go at it verbally, giving Grieco enough time to get back to his
feet. With Savage completely distracted, Grieco rolls him up, with a
handful of tights... one, two, three!
Dawkins: Looks like I
have some trash to take out at
Dawkins: Well then
bring it.
* WINNER VIA PINFALL: MIKE GRIECO *
50
Cent's "Da Repercussions" hits the speakers
and the fans boo loudly as Grieco is announced the winner. Showtime exits
the ring and goes after Vydrina and the two pound away on each other furiously
on the outside, needing to be broken up by officials. In the ring, Grieco
stares at Dawkins, who stands up at the announce table, commencing a staredown as we take a commercial break.
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
Returning from break, "Things Done Changed" by Notorious BIG blasts
onto the speakers and the crowd erupts into raucous disapproval as Vulture
leads the former International Champion Jackie Baccaro to the ring. Both
appear to be in extremely foul moods as they make their way down. Vulture
grabs a microphone and the two enter the ring. Boos rain down upon them
and Vulture, a sneer on his face, begins speaking.
Vulture: What
happened at Meltdown was a travesty in every sense of the word. And I'm
not even going to rant about it. We all know what happened. Greg
Tantalus wants revenge on Jackie, and tried to get it by costing him the
International belt to an obviously inferior competitor like Paul Dawkins.
Yeah, we're pissed off. But we're not getting bent out of shape about
it. I'll let Giacomo tell you why.
Baccaro: Tantalus, I
know exactly why you did what you did. You want your revenge on us badly,
and you want us to want you in that ring just as badly. Well, it didn't
work. We're not stupid. We had a rematch clause inserted into every
title match. One phone call to Bryan Conroy and we've got ourselves a
rematch for the belt, with you banned from ringside. And believe me, I
won't lose. You think I want you in the ring badly? You're
wrong. I'm done with you. Vulture is done with you. He got
his revenge, and I helped how I saw fit. And now it's over.
Moments
later, "Heaven's a Lie" by Lacuna Coil blasts onto the speakers and
the fans begin cheering wildly as Greg Tantalus makes his way to the
ring. Tantalus, microphone in tow, steps into the ring and gets
face-to-face with Baccaro.
Tantalus: Don't even
THINK that this is over! After what you did to my sister, and to me, we
have unfinished business in that ring, and this won't be over until we settle
this man to man. Now, if you're too chicken to face me, then we...
Vulture: Gregory,
Gregory, Gregory. You underestimate us. Know this. We are
businessmen. And really, there is no benefit to Jackie Baccaro getting in
the ring with you. Not as it's currently set up.
Tantalus: What are
you talking about?
Vulture: Well there
IS a way that we could make this match happen. You see, you have
something we want, and we have something you want. You want Baccaro in
the ring, and we want your title shot at Everlasting Epic.
Tantalus: No way.
Vulture: Now now. We're not asking you to GIVE us the shot.
We want you to put it on the line. On July 26, three weeks from tonight,
a decision has to be made as to what title that shot is going to be used
for. Two nights earlier, we are Live From
Tantalus: And if I
were to say no?
Vulture: Then I make
sure you never get Baccaro in the ring one-on-one. Ever.
And as his manager, I can make that a reality.
Tantalus: You know
what? Fine. I accept! I can beat
your little puppet on my worst day and his best. Bring your best, both of
you, because when we are Live From
Tantalus
then throws the mic down and exits the ring as
"Heaven's a Lie" hits and the fans cheer immensely. Tantalus stares
down a smiling Vulture and Baccaro as he backpedals up the ramp.
Ferrara: This is huge news,
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
A camera goes backstage and finds Briggs and Jaguar conversing about their
impressive victory at Meltdown. The popular duo turns a corner towards the
catering area, where they run into Walter Gindin, Infernus and Solomon.
Briggs: Look what the cat
drug in.
Gindin: Easy gentlemen, we
are not out for any trouble tonight. We can take care of that next week.
Jaguar: Next week?
Gindin: Right. We are
demanding a rematch against you two next week on Frequency.
Jaguar: No dice. We already
beat you at Meltdown.
Gindin: You did, but the
team that faces us next week will do so in a number one contender's match for
The Tag Team Championship at Live From
Briggs: Jag, I know you've
held that title five or six times now, but I haven't held a belt here yet. Whaddya say?
Jaguar: Sure thing man.
These punks can't beat us anyway.
Gindin: We'll see about
that next week gentlemen. We'll see about that.
Both
sides share cold stares as Gindin, Solomon and Infernus turn away and exit.
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
Linkin Park's "With You" hits for the
second time this evening, bringing Scythe out to a big pop from the crowd. The
Modern Day Samurai enters without his traditional ring overcoat and quickly
pulls his headband off, looking ready for action after he
slides into the ring.
Troy: After
those cheap shots that Romeo and Annetta took on Scythe, you know he's more
than ready to get it on here.
Ferrara: Yeah, but how will
he and his partner co-exist through it?
"F*ckin In The Bushes" plays next, and the same reaction
comes for The Iceman Jason Calysto as he marches his way back down the ramp.
Calysto looks to be all business as well and does not trade any pleasantries
with Scythe as both men glare back up the ramp. Three D-Bombs light
up the stage as B.G.'s "I Want It"
beats over the speakers. Romeo and FAA walk out to a negative reaction, but the
fans are cheering once Calysto and Scythe exit the ring to begin the fight on
the ramp!
* ORA WORLD CHAMPION ROMEO
& F. ANTHONY ANNETTA VS. THE ICEMAN JASON CALYSTO & SCYTHE *
Romeo
and Annetta meet them halfway and immediately begin to trade fists. Calysto
takes the advantage on Annetta with a series of stiff chops and Scythe does the
same to offset Romeo's punches. They battle down to the ring and Scythe blocks
a right hand from Romeo before connecting with one of his own. But in the midst
of the punch, Scythe's elbow grazes Calysto in the back. The Iceman turns
around to find Scythe facing the other way, and the distraction allows Annetta
to grab him from behind and run him head-first into the ring post!
Calysto
goes down to the arena floor and Annetta clubs Scythe down from behind before
rolling him into the ring. Scythe's partner is down on the floor, leaving him
all alone as Annetta goes to work with a series of stomps in the ring. He gets
Scythe up by the hair and knees him in the midsection before taking him down
with a nice gutwrench suplex. The Lieutenant
Commissioner makes a cover and gets a two count before bringing in the ORA's new title holder.
Romeo
enters to boos, but further irritates the fans by backing Scythe into a corner
and ramming three hard shoulders into his midsection. Romeo whips Scythe hard
into the opposite corner and Scythe walks out right into a huge powerslam from the champion! Romeo hooks a leg and covers
for one...two...and Scythe kicks out.
The
camera cuts down to The Iceman, who now has a cut opened above his left eye
with blood beginning to leak from it. He struggles to regain his bearings, but
does reach his feet groggily. Romeo conitnues
to pound away on Scythe with a few right hands before punishing him with his
patented reverse Death Valley Driver. Romeo adjusts his black bandana to
the crowd's dismay, but the boos really come in once Calysto throws his arms up
and begins to walk back up the ramp.
Calysto
wipes the blood from his eyes and carries a look of disdain on his face as he
begins to walk up the ramp. Romeo shouts a few mocking comments his way before
grabbing Scythe by the hair. He sets Scythe up for The Dre Day Powerbomb, but
Calysto speeds back down to the ramp to nail Romeo with a spinning heel kick
right between the eyes to a huge pop!
Ferrara: I guess he had
second thoughts, but Scythe is still in trouble. Both guys need tags now.
Romeo
is lucky enough to land near his corner to make a tag to Annetta. FAA enters
and grabs Scythe by the boot, but he kicks away and lunges to make a tag to The
Iceman! Calysto runs into the ring and floors his former best friend with a
clothesline before Irish whipping him to the ropes and blasting him with a
spinning heel kick!
Calysto
heads out to the top turnbuckle and he waits on Annetta to rise before jumping
off and leveling him with The Bottom Line! The Iceman gets up on a roll, and
Romeo tries to go after him, but Scythe cuts him off and delivers a dropkick
that sends him barreling through the ropes to the arena floor! FAA gets to his
feet, but Calysto grabs him by the arm and drives him down to trap him in The Crossface! Annetta does not see Romeo around and chooses
not to let the move put him on the shelf again, so he quickly taps
out!
* WINNERS VIA SUBMISSION: JASON CALYSTO & SCYTHE *
"F*ckin In The Bushes" replays
and Scythe and Calysto are announced as the winners. Annetta rolls out of the
ring and exits alongside Romeo, who angrily grabs his belt and storms back up
the ramp. Back in the ring, Scythe offers his hand to Calysto for a handshake,
but the Iceman declines as the camera catches him saying he can't trust him.
Calysto hops out of the ring, wiping the blood from his eyes as the crowd gives
a confused reaction.
