PWA
OVERDRIVE
First Union
Center
Philadelphia,
PA
The broadcast opens with an outdoor shot of the First Union
Center, where fans are filing into the home of the Flyers and Sixers. The
opening montage for Overdrive begins next, and “All My Life” by the Foo
Fighters accompanies it. At its close, we are taken inside the First Union
Center, where an incredible pyrotechnics display ensues before the camera
closes in on our commentators, Nick Cade and Rick Madsen.
Cade: Hello folks and welcome to PWA Overdrive! Man, does
it feel great to be back here in Philly Rick!
Madsen: The First Union Center is rockin’ tonight Nick! We
are an hour away from Meltdown, and this building just might Melt Down itself!
Cade: Its 97 degrees outside here in Philadelphia, but it’s
a lot hotter inside the building! Tonight, you will see Jaguar, GI Jew and
Jason Calysto all compete for the PWA Championship! You will also see The
Machine and Mike Tortorici inside Hell-In-A Cell, Greg Tantalus against Scythe,
S.I.N. vs. Loki, Mike Griffin and a mystery partner, am I going on a tangent
Rick?
Madsen: Sure are. But let me tell you about a match I’m
looking forward to, and that is a no holds barred street fight between Romeo
and Mike Grieco. The tension has been building between these two guys ever
since Animosity 2002 right here in this building, and its only gotten worse.
Lets roll that footage guys.
A video package airs on the Jumbotron highlighting the heated feud between Romeo and Mike Grieco. It covers Grieco’s win at Animosity, only to be followed by his embarrassment in a “pimp-off” against Romeo on Frequency, and his elimination at the Symphony of Destruction, courtesy of “Da Playboy”. The package closes with Grieco’s recent powerbomb attack on Camieko, and Romeo issuing the challenge before rescuing Kayne from a similar attack last Tuesday.
A camera is now inside the employee parking lot, just underneath the First Union Center. A sparkling navy blue Toyota pulls to a halt, and seconds later, Dee Licious exits to stretch her arms. Mike Grieco steps out too and grabs a bag, but they can hear loud music coming their way. Seconds later, a metallic blue Cadillac Escalade whips in with the music blasting, and Dee and Grieco quickly climb back in their tinted-windowed vehicle. After the truck comes to a stop, the half-full indoor crowd cheers at the sight of Romeo as he grabs his bags and storms into the arena. Once the coast is clear, Grieco and Dee follow suit.
Cade: Whoa, did you see that Rick?
Madsen: Sure did, and I cannot blame Mike Grieco. Romeo is
here to take him apart for what he did to Camieko, and Grieco needs to be wary
back there. This fight could start sooner than we expected.
Cade: We promise that Tracie Reed will have a word with
Romeo later in the night, but right now, she is standing by with Kerry Cox and
Superstar Scott Hosemann. Take it away Tracie.
Reed: Thanks guys. Kerry, Scott, both of you
have big matches ahead of you tonight. I’m gonna start with you Scott. Tonight,
you have an opportunity to win the PWA International Championship over Steve
Beovich. What are your thoughts?
Hosemann: First and foremost, I’m happy to
have the title shot tonight. I’m not worried about taking out Beovich tonight.
I don’t sweat him at all. But someone I am worried about is you, Kerry.
Reed: Likely in regards to your matchup
against the undefeated Solomon tonight, Kerry.
Cox: Listen Tracie, and you listen too Scott.
I understand everyone’s concern. Solomon is a monster in that ring, but will
somebody give me some credit too?! I know I took a beating last month at
Symphony of Destruction, and I have to make up for that. What better way to
make up for it than bring down the monster known as Solomon? I know I can do
this, and I’ll prove it to you, you Scott, and all the people watching right
there in the center of the ring.
We cut back to the parking lot, where Walter Gindin, Justice and GI Jew are heading into the building. The PWA World Heavyweight Champion looks extremely intense in his white and blue Ron Dayne New York Giants jersey, which only serve to infuriate the Eagle loving crowd inside the arena as we head to commercial.

BREAK-
Segment 6-
Backstage
We come back from the break to find Tracie Reed standing by
with Romeo as promised.
Reed: Romeo, we just saw an incredible video package
earlier that showed the history between yourself and Mike Grieco. With all that
tension coming to a head tonight, what is on your mind?
Romeo: I’ve got only two things on my mind tonight Tracie.
Number one is remembering what Grieco did to Camieko and what he tried to do to
Kayne. Number two is making him pay for it. I’ve already beaten Grieco on
pay-per-view inside this building last year, but this time, I’m gonna take him
all over this place. I’ll beat his ass everywhere it takes for me to win out
there, but the result will be the same: I will NOT lose this fight to him. No
way, no how.
We are then taken to the dressing room of Mike Grieco and Dee, who are both watching what Romeo has said.
Dee: Can you believe this guy? He’s talking
tough like he can beat you! (Laughs)
Grieco: Dee, don’t laugh about that. This
will not be a laughing matter tonight. Its gonna be a fight. I don’t want you
out there tonight.
Dee: Oh come on Mike! This one is in the bag!
Grieco: I know, but its still dangerous. You
can stay here for now, but I want you out of this building for that match.
Maybe you should stay in the car or something (winks).
Dee: (Grinning) Alright Mike, whatever you
say. You just be careful out there.
Cade: What incredibly strong words by Romeo right there. I
can’t remember the last time I have seen him that intense!
Madsen: Me either, but I think Grieco is doing the right
thing by keeping Dee out of the building. It will be a very dangerous situation
for her if she remained here.
Cade: Well let me ask you this: how can you possibly go
more dangerous than Hell-In-A Cell?
Madsen: Good question. I was at an Independence Day
celebration with The Machine yesterday, and he was actually pretty calm when we
talked about this match. I don’t think that bodes well for Mike Tortorici,
because it seemed like a serene calm before what could be a violent storm
tonight.
Cade: That’s interesting, because Tortorici was described
to be the same way at an autograph session here at St. Joseph’s University here
in Philadelphia yesterday as well. Both of these men are very confident in
their abilities, and that will be perhaps the best match these two will ever
have.
We are now back in the parking lot, where The Machine has just arrived. He climbs out of his Jeep and grabs his bags, looking focused as he silently walks into the arena.
We are now taken backstage, where Michelle is getting ready
for her crack at the Women’s Championship. She pulls up her right elbow pad
when Greg Tantalus arrives in the room.
Tantalus: Are you ready?
Michelle: I think so. This is my first title shot Greg.
Tantalus: I know, but don’t sweat it. I’ve been in plenty
of title matches, and I know how to win them. Hell, I’m a tag champ right now!
Anyway, go on out there and bring that belt back where it belongs, right here
in S.I.N.
Michelle: Will do. How are you feeling? You got a big match
with Scythe too.
Tantalus: Big? You must mean because I’m in it. There is
nothing big about Scythe. He’s a pushover. You just go on out and handle your
business first. I’ll meet you back here.
Michelle: Alright.

BREAK-
Segment 11,
Match 1 – PWA Women’s Championship – Allison Kelly © vs. Michelle
Referee: Jason
Church
Ring announcer Lee Palmer climbs into the ring, ready to
announce the participants for this championship matchup as “Going Under” by
Evanescence begins.
Palmer: The next contest is scheduled for one fall and it
is for the PWA Women’s Championship! Introducing the challenger, representing
S.I.N. from Denver, Colorado, weighing 110 pounds, Michelle!
Michelle arrives to a series of boos from the crowd, and
looks a little bit nervous on her way to the ring, but clearly gains her
confidence once she steps inside. “White America” by Eminem takes over, getting
a more positive reaction from the crowd.
Palmer: And her opponent, being accompanied by Megan
Lovato, from Valley Stream, New York, weighing 125 pounds, she is the PWA
Women’s Champion, Allisonnnn Kelly!
Kelly and Lovato enter to a mixed, if not favorable, pop
from the crowd. The champion takes her title from her waist and climbs into the
ring as the bell sounds.
The ladies lock up, and Allison grabs Michelle in a side
headlock. Michelle backs to the ropes and shoves Kelly off, but the champion
knocks her down with a tackle. Michelle gets back up and walks right into a
scoop slam from Kelly. Allison hits the ropes and comes off to nail a big elbow
drop to the chest! Kelly covers for one…two…and Michelle kicks out!
Cade: Allison has established control early in this one.
Madsen: Michelle needs to regroup quickly to have a chance
here.
Kelly lifts Michelle up and tosses her into a corner. The
champion charges her, but Michelle greets her with a foot to the face and a
bulldog headlock! Michelle covers for one…two…and Kelly kicks out with authority.
Michelle lifts Kelly up and then sends her down with a suplex. The challenger
then runs to the ropes, but Lovato grabs her foot to trip her! Half the crowd
cheers while the other boos, but with the action in clear view of Church, the
official demands Lovato head to the back!
Cade: Jason Church is kicking Michelle out of here!
Madsen: This isn’t good for the champion.
Lovato throws a huge fit, causing Church to exit the ring
to get her away. As Lovato yells at the top of her lungs, the crowd murmurs as
Jenny Ottati rushes through it! She hurdles the barricade and grabs the title
belt, which Lovato left on the apron. Both the champion and challenger get to
their feet in the ring, and Ottati slides in with the belt. She swings the
title at Kelly, who ducks, causing her to blast Michelle with the 13 pounds of
gold!
Madsen: Jenny Ottati just nailed Michelle!
Cade: What is she even doing out here?
As Michelle crashes to the mat, Kelly kicks Ottati in the
stomach and tosses her over the top rope! Church finally returns to the ring,
where Kelly lifts Michelle up and floors her with the Nightmare on Helms Street
neckbreaker! Kelly covers and the crowd counts along for the 1,2,3!
Cade: This one is over, but what is Jenny Ottati’s deal?
Madsen: Who knows? All that matters is that Allison is
still the champ!
“White America” replays, and Kelly is handed her title as the fans give her even more cheers for yet another great performance.
Winner via
pinfall at 5:40 and still PWA Women’s Champion – Allison Kelly
Segment 12 –
Jumbotron
VAST’s
“Thrown Away” hits the speakers and we see a graphic appear on the screen that
reads “PWA Meltdown Report.” From
there, the shot takes us to a backstage set and PWA reporter Ron O’Brien, who
is standing in front of a backdrop featuring the Meltdown logo.
O’Brien: Hello ladies and gentlemen, my
name is Ron O’Brien and this is the Meltdown report. Folks, we’re just minutes away from PWA Meltdown, live from the
First Union Center in Philadelphia, exclusively on pay-per-view! There are many interesting matches set to
take place at this spectacular event, but none with the magnitude of our main
event, a triple threat match pitting PWA Champion GI Jew against both Jaguar
and The Iceman Jason Calysto for the PWA World Heavyweight Championship. One fall will decide the finish in this one,
so expect a lot of action and drama as GI Jew can lose the championship without
even being involved in the decision!
Also in store for this spectacular
pay-per-view will be another round of the most brutal match in the history of
wrestling, and the second time it has happened in the PWA, it will be Hell in a
Cell as The Machine squares off against arch-rival Mike Tortorici in the war to
finally settle the score!
In a tremendous
six-man tag team encounter, SIN members Vulture and the Lost Souls team to meet
the combination of “The Impulse” Mike Griffin, Loki, and a mystery
partner. Rumors have been running
rampant as to just whom their partner will be, but the only way to find out for
sure is to tune in to Meltdown!
In a match signed last week on Overdrive, “Smooth” Greg
Tantalus will be tested by the Modern-Day Samurai, Scythe.
Also signed is a Falls Count Anywhere match between Mike
Grieco, accompanied by Dee Licious, and his rival Romeo in what is sure to be a
bloodbath.
The International Championship will be on the line, as “The Omega” Steve
Beovich defends against “Superstar” Scott Hosemann.
”The Miracle” Mike Troha and Brokensoul Jon Brett will look to settle their
issues as they meet head to head at Meltdown.
In a two-out-of-three-falls match, Infernus puts the
Progressive Championship on the line against former champ Tim Dand.
And, of course, the monster from Barrow, Alaska, the uncanny Solomon, will
wrestle his first pay-per-view one-on-one match, meeting the challenge of the
legendary Hardcore Icon Kerry Cox in a match that many say Cox simply cannot
win.
That’s all for this week, folks. For
the Meltdown report, I’m Ron O’Brien, saying see you Saturday night in
Philadelphia!
A camera is now inside the parking lot, where Jaguar has just arrived. In the company of his friend and native Philadelphian, Kayne, the former PWA Champion brushes off his Temple Owls t-shirt before waving to some fans and entering the building.
Cade: And Jaguar has just arrived to the building!
Madsen: Finally. Now all three of the PWA title match
participants are here. That’s gonna be a crazy match Nick.
Cade: It
certainly will, but the time for talking it over. For Rick Madsen, I’m Nick
Cade saying try to stay cool, because it’s time for Meltdown!
