PWA
OVERDRIVE
Baltimore,
Maryland
The PWA logo flashes onto the screen before showing the ending from last Tuesday’s edition of Frequency, where Jason Calysto defeated GI Jew to retain the PWA World Heavyweight Championship. However, just moments after Calysto’s submission win, Mike Griffin entered the ring with the title belt in hand, and the number one contender to the throne left Calysto laying in the center of the ring after hitting him in the head with the gold. “All My Life” by the Foo Fighters then accompanies the superstar-filled opening for Overdrive. At its close, we are taken inside the former Baltimore Arena, now known as the First Mariner Arena, where our commentators are standing by as 3 D-Bombs explode on the ramp and “Magic Stick” by 50 Cent and Lil’ Kim begins to play.
Cade: Hello everybody and welcome to PWA Overdrive! I’m Nick Cade, here with Rick Madsen, and this broadcast is off to a different kind of start isn’t it?
Madsen: It definitely is, because Romeo isn’t wasting any
time in getting to the ring. He’s got his ring gear on, and he sure looks upset
Nick.
With the crowd still cheering, “Da Playboy” climbs into the
ring and grabs a microphone from ringside.
Romeo: Alright cut the music. If you saw Frequency, you
know why I’m out here. 2 weeks ago on Frequency, I teamed up with Jade to face
Magnifica and Vulture. Now the bitch, Magnifica, she got away. But during that
match, I proceeded to whoop Vulture’s ass and pin him 1,2,3 in the middle of
the ring. Now that was all fine and good by me. It was one match. I figured
he’d take the loss and move on, but no. What does he do? He runs like the punk
he is and gets his boys on me the next week. I took a little beating, but I
know I can give one too. So basically what I’m saying is that I want S.I.N.
tonight! (Crowd cheers) Be it one, two, three, or all six of you, I want you
out here right now, and I’m not going anywhere until you show up! Bring it on
bitches!
Romeo tosses the mic down in frustration and the crowd
cheers him on as he waits for any or all of S.I.N. to arrive. As long pause
ensues until “I Got That Fire” by Juvenile and Manny Fresh hits and the crowd
comes alive for Jaguar as he makes his way to the ring!
Madsen: What the hell is Jaguar doing out here?
Cade: I don’t know, but I think this crowd is just as
confused as we are!
Sporting a throwback Cal Ripken, Jr. Baltimore Orioles
jersey, the former PWA Champion picks up Romeo’s mic and the music shuts off.
Jaguar: Playboy, cool your jets man. If there is anything
I’ve learned in the past few months, it’s that no one person here can take down
S.I.N. Its not that they’re good or anything, its just that there are a bunch
of them, which is why they have that stupid ass name. Anyway, I saw what
happened to you. Hell, I was there. I’ve been through it with them, and so have
guys like Mike Griffin, The Machine, Loki, Calysto, the list goes on and on.
But I think the problem is that none of those guys really pooled their energies.
You know, team up to bring them down. You don’t need to end up like the rest of
us did cuz; because you have a choice. Now I’m not suggesting anything, but I
think you need to back up a little bit and find somebody else that’s willing to
help you out. Like I said, I’m not suggesting anything or anyone, but maybe the
people here in B-More can help you reach a decision.
Romeo takes the mic back and ponders what was said to him.
As he holds his hands on his hips, the crowd is begging for him to choose Jaguar
as his partner.
Romeo: Well, there is this one guy I can think of. He’s
big, he’s strong, and some people call him a pretty boy at times. But seeing as
there’s only one of me, I guess you’re the next best thing. Whaddya say man?
The crowd is going nuts as Jaguar acts surprised, but their
cheers are halted once “A Violent Reaction” by American Head Charge hits and
the Lost Souls emerge at the top of the stage with their own mic.
Demon: Are you guys done yet? That was such a cute game; I
think I know where Waldo is now. If you boys are done playing, its time to get
serious now. Reaper and I were sitting in the back, and we saw you running your
mouth Romeo. You and Jaguar want to get some of S.I.N., you got it! Vulture
won’t be here tonight, but Greg Tantalus is on his way and I’m sure he’ll want
in on this too. Since you talk such a big game, how about me, Reaper and Greg
Tantalus against you two right here in Baltimore tonight?! (Crowd cheers)
Jaguar: You three against us? Fine by me junior, what do you
think Romeo?
Romeo: Oh it’s all good with me. Just make sure you lace
‘em up tight, because just like your girl Magnifica says, you boys are gonna be
in for a long night. We’ll holla!
“Magic Stick” replays as the Lost Souls duck behind the
curtain.
Cade: Tantalus and the Lost Souls against the Hot Boy$
tonight!
Madsen: What a main event that’s gonna be!
A graphic reading “earlier today” shows at the bottom left
of the screen as we see a shot of Kerry Cox entering the First Mariner Arena
this afternoon. The “Hardcore Icon” carries his bags in search of his locker
room when he bumps into Bryan Conroy, the owner of the PWA.
Cox: (Shaking hands with Conroy) Hey Bryan, whats going on?
Conroy: I’ve got a little bit of news, and it concerns you
Kerry.
Cox: Oh yeah? What about?
Conroy: Well I saw what Scott Hosemann did to you on
Frequency. Stunned you again. Anyway, he put in a request to get a rematch for
the International title against Steve Beovich tonight. The problem is, he isn’t
here. As a matter of fact, he called me about an hour ago and said he was
flying straight down I-95 and heading right to Richmond for Frequency.
Basically, his spot as the challenger is open, and after what he did to you, I
want you to have it.
Cox: Well then I want to take it. I never should have given
it to that ingrate at Meltdown in the first place. Thanks Bryan.
Conroy: No problem. Give him hell out there tonight Kerry.

BREAK-
Segment 3 –
Backstage
A camera is now at the back door of the arena, where the door opens for Smooth Greg Tantalus’ arrival. Tantalus is in the company of his sister, Lauren, when he is approached by Tracie Reed.
Reed: Hey Greg! Greg Tantalus!
Tantalus: What do you want Tracie?
Reed: Did you hear about the big main event tonight?!
Tantalus: No
Reed: Its gonna be you, teaming up with Reaper and Speed Demon against the Hot Boy$ in a handicap match!
L. Tantalus: Oh great! You and Dan on the same team!
G. Tantalus: Will you be quiet?! Tracie, where is my locker
room?
Reed: Right down that hall, 3rd door on the
left.
G. Tantalus: Alright. Lauren, Michelle is on her way and
you do not need to be around when she gets here. Here, take the keys and go
back to the hotel while I do what I have to do here.
L. Tantalus: But I wanna watch the show!
G. Tantalus: Oh jeez, you can still watch the show, just
get out of here!
L. Tantalus: Alright Greg. Good luck tonight.
G. Tantalus: Yeah thanks.
Reed is still excited when both Tantalus siblings walk off
in opposite directions.
Segment 4,
Match 1 – PWA International Championship – The Omega Steve Beovich © vs. Kerry
Cox
Referee: Jose
Soares
“War Machine” by Kiss hits the speakers, setting a nice
stage for Kerry Cox as he enters to a favorable pop from the crowd. Cox poses
for the fans to see as “More Human Than Human” by White Zombie takes over. The
Omega Steve Beovich arrives to a jeer-filled reaction, but the International
Champion looks just as smug as ever during his stroll to the ring.
Madsen: Now let me ask you something Nick. Kerry Cox lost
the International Championship to Beovich at Symphony of Destruction in a
landslide. What makes him think that he stands a chance tonight?
Beovich climbs into the ring and smirks at Cox, causing the
Hardcore Icon to spear him to the mat!
Cade: That right there makes me think he’s got a great
chance!
Cox swings violent right hands about the head and shoulders
of the champion, until Beovich breaks free by raking his eyes. The Omega
finally gets to his feet and floors Cox with a hard right hand. Soares calls
for the bell and Beovich takes over on the attack, stomping Cox’s side and back
repeatedly.
Beovich picks Cox up from the canvas and tosses him into a
corner, where he follows up with a reverse elbow to the face. After two
shoulder thrusts to the ribs, Beovich backs up and charges for a third. Cox
sees him coming and slides out of the way, forcing Beovich to connect with the
steel ringpost! Beovich turns around in pain and Cox grabs him for the
Coxsucker DDT, but that champion quickly drops out of it and rolls outside the
ring.
Cade: Look at the champion run now!
Madsen: He’s just taking a breather. Its good strategy.
Cox runs out after Beovich, who is still holding his
shoulder as he rushes back into the ring. Cox slides in after him, but Beovich
drops an elbow on the back of his head. Cox is very fazed and Beovich turns him
over before deciding to head up to the top rope
Madsen: I think Beovich is going up for Extreme Precision!
Cade: There’s no getting up from that move.
Beovich ascends to the top and dives off for a big splash,
just not his Extreme Precision frog splash. Cox sees Beovich in motion and gets
his knees up, forcing Beovich to crash down upon them!
Cade: Cox got his knees up!
With the momentum on Cox’s side, the challenger waits for
Beovich to get up. The champion slowly gets to his feet and stumbles backwards
into the ropes, but Cox heads towards him, kicks him in the gut and grabs him
for the Coxsucker DDT, hitting it square on the canvas! Cox covers for
one…two…and Beovich gets a leg on the rope!
Madsen: What tremendous ring presence by The Omega, getting
that leg on the rope!
Cade: But his title is still in danger Rick!
Cox has some words with Soares, but goes back on the attack
by lifting Beovich up and Irish whipping him across the ring, but the champion
manages to hang onto the top rope. Cox walks towards him again, but Beovich
springs up and tackles him with a hard double leg takedown! The Omega quickly
gets to the top rope, wipes the cobwebs from his head and nails Cox with
Extreme Precision! Beovich hooks a leg for one…two…three!
Madsen: You’ve gotta hand it to The Omega Nick. That was a
helluva win!
Cade: It sure was. Kerry Cox gave it his all tonight, but
Beovich prevailed.
“More Human Than Human” replays and Beovich wastes no time in grabbing his title and heading to the back as Cox receives a nice round of applause for his efforts.
Winner via
pinfall at 6:14 and still PWA International Champion – Steve Beovich
Segment 5 –
Backstage
A camera takes us to the parking lot, where Magnifica is
dialing someone on a cell phone.
Magnifica: Yeah Mike it’s me. Are you on your way down
here? What?!?! What do you mean you’re heading straight to Richmond! I’m in
Baltimore, I’ve got a match in a few minutes! Greg? Who cares about those guys?
I heard they have some kinda handicap match tonight. Maybe you didn’t hear me,
I have a match tonight and I want you here! (Long pause) Fine just go to
Richmond! I’m gonna rip this bitch’s head off if you’re here or not! (Long
Pause) Oh puh-leeze! I’ll see you later!
Magnifica closes her phone and angrily storms back inside the First Mariner Arena as we head to commercial break.

BREAK-
Segment 6,
Match 2 – Jenny Ottati vs. Magnifica
Referee: Matt
Hansen
“Just A Girl” by No Doubt begins, and the crowd gives Jenny
Ottati a very warm reception for her first televised matchup in a few weeks. As
she readies herself in the ring, the house lights go dim and the screen on the
ramp turns white as Missy Elliot’s “She’s A Bitch” hits, sparking an incredible
array of boos for Magnifica as she walks to the ring.
Madsen: These people truly, truly hate this woman.
Cade: Can you blame them?
Madsen: Well I’m sure Magnifica feels the same about them right now. She’s still upset that Vulture isn’t coming here tonight and apparently is already on his way down to Richmond.
Magnifica climbs into the ring and immediately tears into
Ottati as Hansen calls for the bell. The lady of S.I.N. stomps her opponent
into a corner and applies a vicious chokehold that Hansen’s count of five
breaks. Magnifica screams at the official and heads back to Ottati to Irish
whip her across the ring to the opposite end. Ottati hits the turnbuckles hard
and Magnifica charges, but Ottati puts both feet in her face as she nears!
Magnifica stumbles back and Ottati charges her, ducking an
errant clothesline before hitting the ropes and flooring Magnifica with a
flying forearm! Ottati waits for her opponent to get up and she connects with a
right hand, then another before backing Magnifica to the ropes and shooting her
to the opposite side.
Ottati ducks low for a back body drop, but Magnifica stops
short and kicks her in the face before connecting with the Breakdown!
Cade: My goodness, look at how fast Magnifica connected
with that Breakdown Rick!
Madsen: And I don’t think she’s done yet either.
Magnifica peels an already beaten Ottati off the mat, gets
her in position and then drills her with another Breakdown before covering her
for the academic 1-2-3.
Cade: Well Magnifica picked up the win, but look at the
damage she has done to Jenny Ottati now!
Madsen: Hold on, she’s calling for a third!
Magnifica calls for a third Breakdown, but Hansen quickly stops it and uses the help of two other officials to escort the enraged Magnifica out of the ring.
Winner via
pinfall at 4:07 - Magnifica
Segment 7 –
Backstage
We are taken right behind the curtain, where Tracie Reed is
in the interview area with the Hot Boy$.
Reed: Romeo, Jaguar, you are just moments away from heading to the ring to face S.I.N. in a handicap match. What are your thoughts?
Romeo: We’re ready Tracie. We’ve been ready for this since
Tuesday when they jumped us.
Reed: But aren’t you worried about this match being 3-on-2?
The Lost Souls are no pushover guys. They are former PWA Tag Team Champions.
Jaguar: So were we.
Reed: Well Greg Tantalus is also a former PWA World
Heavyweight Champion.
Jaguar: And who won it from him? That’s right, I did. Look Tracie, we understand that S.I.N. is
pretty good, but we are the best tag team the world has seen. You know how many
different tag team titles we’ve won? Seven. More than any other team, past,
present, or future. We know we can get the job done, or else we wouldn’t’ have
taken the match. S.I.N. will be burnt tonight, because the Hot Boy$ are back!
Lets slide man.
Romeo: Tracie, we’ll holla.
Reed: Good luck guys!
-COMMERCIAL
BREAK-
Segment 8 – Ringside
Cade: Rick, what an episode of Frequency we saw from
Atlantic City this past week. We saw Scythe defeat his old partner, Billy Chan.
We saw Anthony Failla return to the ring and dismantle Henry Swanson, and we
saw the arrival of Da Banditz to the PWA!
Madsen: Yeah, Harris and Walker. These two guys are the real deal, but I can now confirm that D-Unit’s team of Maverick and Darkstar has issued a challenge to those two for Frequency this week. Something tells me that they will accept.
Cade: I think they will too, but what about Everlasting Epic II? We are now 3 weeks away from the biggest PWA event ever! There are still a few thousand seats available at the New Orleans Superdome, and now we know that The Omega Steve Beovich will defend the International Championship against Scythe in a ladder match!
Madsen: Anything can happen with a belt hanging 20 feet
above the ring. We also know that Infernus will put the Progressive title on
the line against Jon Dulberg, but when you think about Everlasting Epic II, you
think about the main event.
Cade: That’s right. Mike Griffin vs. Jason Calysto for the PWA World Heavyweight Championship! Simply put, it doesn’t get any better than that. We’re sure to have more matches announced later in the week, but lets head to the ring now for our main event!
Segment 9 –
Handicap Match – S.I.N. (The Lost Souls and Smooth Greg Tantalus) vs. The Hot
Boy$
Referee: Tom
Stevens
A buzz amongst the Baltimore crowd is broken once the lights go down and three D-Bombs crash to the entrance ramp and “We On Fire” blasts through the PA system, nearly drowning out ring announcer Lee Palmer.
Palmer: This next match is a handicap match and it is
scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Atlanta, Georgia and
Jacksonville, Florida respectively, at a total combined weight of 500 pounds,
Romeo and Jaguar, they are the Hot Boyyyy$!
Romeo and Jaguar arrive to an ear-shattering reaction from
the fans, and both pose in front of their flaming fireworks that set the stage
ablaze before entering the ring.
Cade: What an event this is Rick! The Hot Boy$ have
returned to tag team action here tonight!
Madsen: With 3 CAW Tag Titles, 1 FSW Tag Title, and 3 PWA
Tag Titles, including the inaugural championship under their belts, I can’t say
that that’s a bad thing.
The Hot Boy$ pose in all four corners of the ring, until
the lights go back down and “A Violent Reaction” replays. The Lost Souls arrive
to no introduction, but look very focused as Simon Says’ “Hey You” takes over.
Palmer: And their opponents, being led to the ring by
Michelle, at a total combined weight of 648 pounds, the team of Speed Demon,
Reaper and Smoooooth Greg Tantalus, this is S.I.N.!
The Strength In Numbers squad is completed when Tantalus
and Michelle enter the arena and breeze right past the Lost Souls on the way to
the ring. Tantalus climbs in the ring and gets right in the face of Jaguar as
the Lost Souls catch up. Romeo takes his place on the apron and the Souls
follow suit as the bell rings.
Madsen: Here we go Nick. Its Jaguar and Greg Tantalus,
these two have had such a rivalry and it only continues tonight.
Both men come to the center of the ring and lock up hard.
Jaguar grips on a side headlock, but Tantalus backs him to the ropes and shoots
him to the other side. Jaguar bounces off the ropes and ducks a Tantalus
leapfrog, but stops right behind him and floors him with a taped right hand!
Tantalus gets up, only to receive a hiptoss, and another hiptoss before
retreating to his corner. Speed Demon’s hand is outstretched, but Tantalus
looks up and gives Reaper the tag.
Cade: I wonder what that was about. Tantalus never even
thought about giving Speed Demon the tag right there.
Madsen: Oh you don’t know that. They just needed to get the
real power guy in there.
Cade: Reaper is just about as strong as Jaguar, but he’s
not as strong as the guy Jaguar just tagged in.
Romeo enters the ring to a rousing ovation and Reaper asks
him for a test of strength. Romeo obliges, but Reaper baits him in with a knee
to the gut. He clubs him in the back and Demon enters the ring in a dash for a
quick double team snap suplex. Demon hurries out as Reaper covers for
one…two…and Romeo kicks out. Reaper wrenches Romeo’s arm and moves back to his
corner, where Speed Demon tags into the fray.
Demon climbs up to the top rope and crashes down on Romeo’s
arm, causing “Da Playboy” to wince in pain. With Romeo grounded, Demon applies
an arm bar in hopes to weaken the big man. Romeo struggles in the hold, but
Demon pulls his hair a little to keep him grounded. Jaguar’s pleas fall on deaf
ears, but the crowd’s do not. They will Romeo up to his feet, where he uses his
free arm to clothesline Speed Demon down! Romeo makes a move for his corner,
but Tantalus and Reaper enter the ring to thwart him.
Cade: C’mon Tom, get these guys outta there!
Jaguar enters too, but Stevens is closer to him and forces
him back to his corner. While this happens, Speed Demon holds Romeo up for a
Tantalus attack. Tantalus charges, but Romeo moves and Demon is clotheslined by
the Smooth One! Romeo knocks down Reaper before tossing Tantalus into Speed
Demon, sending both men over the top rope! Jaguar reaches out for a tag, and
Romeo delivers it to the delight of the crowd!
Cade: Here comes Jaguar and he’s fresh!
Madsen: Not good news for S.I.N.
Jaguar enters the ring and blocks a Reaper left hand before
kicking him in the gut and nailing Version 1.0! Outside the ring, the crowd
murmurs as Lauren Tantalus walks through the crowd with a ticket in hand and a
front row seat!
Madsen: What is she doing here?! Greg told her to leave!
Cade: Correction, Greg said she can watch the show, just
not in the back near Speed Demon.
Madsen: Well she’s near him now!
Michelle struggles to separate Speed Demon and Greg
Tantalus, who are both ready to scuffle outside the ring. The Hot Boy$ quickly
take advantage in the ring , where Romeo enters to plant Reaper with the Dre
Day powerbomb! As Romeo exits, Jaguar scales the top rope and flattens Reaper
with a Suga Splash! He hooks the leg and the crowd counts along for
one…two…three!
Cade: Look at that! Tantalus and Speed Demon were so busy
arguing that they forgot about Reaper!
Madsen: What is happening to S.I.N.?!?!
“We On Fire” replays, but the music is halted once Vulture
storms down the ramp, into the ring and nails Romeo from behind! Jaguar comes
at him, but the S.I.N. leader hits him with a chill Factor spinebuster!
Cade: What the hell?!?! Vulture is here! He said he wasn’t
coming!
Madsen: Well I guess that’s changed!
Magnifica makes her way down the ramp as well and both her
and Vulture scream for Tantalus and Speed Demon to enter the ring. All six
members of S.I.N. are in the ring, Reaper still lying on the mat as Vulture
wears a look of disappointment at the mere sight of his allies. All three men
stare down one another, until they all look down and continue to assault the Hot
Boy$! Michelle and Magnifica join in on the act, and S.I.N. stomps a hole into
Romeo and Jaguar until scores of PWA officials flood the ring.
Cade: Get them the hell outta here! They are destroying the
Hot Boy$!
Speed Demon grabs Reaper and helps walk him to the back as
S.I.N. begins their exit. With White Zombie’s “Electric Head (Pt.1)” playing,
the collective unit of Strength In Numbers poses at the top of the ramp for all
the fans to jeer as Overdrive comes to a close.
