PWA
OVERDRIVE
United Center
Chicago,
Illinois
The
PWA logo flashes onto the screen, before fading away into clips from last
Tuesday’s Frequency, where a plot by S.I.N. unfolded, with Jaguar as their
prime victim. Mike Griffin and Jason Calysto ran in to thwart the efforts of
S.I.N., leaving tension at a fever pitch for the broadcast’s end. “All My Life”
by the Foo Fighters begins to play as the opening for Overdrive hits the
screen. At its close, we are taken to the north side of Chicago, where a
dazzling fireworks display illuminates the inside the 9 year-old United Center.
Cade: Hello everybody and welcome to PWA Overdrive! I’m
Nick Cade, here with my broadcast colleague, Rick Madsen. Rick, what a week
this has been for us in the PWA.
Madsen: What a week indeed Nick. At this time last week, we
had 6 different people holding 5 different titles. A week later, only one
person retained their title, and that person is Allison Kelly, who will defend
her PWA Women’s title against Camieko here tonight.
Cade: I know you like that, but one of the men who won a
title at last week’s Animosity was Kerry Cox. Kerry beat Tony Annetta to regain
the International championship, but Tony has been granted a rematch for the
title right here tonight.
Madsen: He has, and I predict that he will become the
second man to regain that gold when he beats Kerry tonight. As a matter of
fact-
Madsen’s words are cut short once the crowd drowns his
voice out with their cheers as “I Got That Fire” by Juvenile and Manny Fresh
hits the PA system. A few seconds later, Jaguar steps through the curtain to a
deafening crowd pop! The new PWA Champion has his championship belt draped over
his left shoulder as he slaps the hands of the fans on his way to the ring.
Once inside the squared circle, he grabs a microphone and begins to speak.
Jaguar: What up Chi-town?! I’ve got a few
things to get off my chest tonight. First of all, it feels good to be the
champion of your world once again! (Crowd cheers) It took a lot to overcome
S.I.N., but I did it and the proof lies on my shoulder. But I didn’t do it
alone. I needed somebody to watch my back out there, and with that said, I
wanna give a big shout out to Mike Griffin and Jason Calysto for keeping things
in check at Animosity and at Frequency. But that brings me to my main point,
Frequency. On Frequency, I was teamed up with the Lost Souls to fight Greg
Tantalus, Vulture, and GI Jew, none of which are here tonight. During the
match, the Lost Souls showed the colors we all knew they had, and they jumped
me. (Crowd boos) Gotta hand it to them; they beat my ass. But that was Tuesday,
and tonight is tonight. Now I know Vulture and Greg are not in the building
tonight, but the Lost Souls are. I’m gonna cut to the chase and say that I
don’t care which one it is, but either Reaper or Speed Demon came to Chicago
for an ass whippin’ tonight!
The crowd begins to cheer, but the noise halts once “A
Violent Reaction” by American Head Charge hits the speakers and the Lost Souls
walk to the top of the ramp.
Demon: You know something Jaguar, for someone who gets his
own ass beat week in and week out, you sure have a lot to say. Was it our fault
that you were dumb enough to team with us? No. Yet you come out here huffing
and puffing about how you wanna fight one of us tonight. Well to that, I say
“no go”. (Crowd boos once again)
Jaguar: No go huh? What do you guys have to lose? Oh wait,
I know now. You’re thinking if one of you loses tonight, you’ll get Vulture and
Greg even more upset than they already were with you. I don’t know if that’s
true or not, but I do know that its high time that you two grow a set, take
your heads from their asses, and become real men.
Reaper: (Snatching the mic) Alright that’s enough! I’ll
fight you tonight Jaguar! But you wanna bring up Greg and Vulture, knowing they
aren’t here tonight? Let me tell you something chump; you are on borrowed time.
That PWA title belongs to S.I.N. How about when I beat you tonight, you defend
that belt against a member of S.I.N. that we choose this Tuesday on Frequency?
Jaguar: You got it junior. But I hope you realize that you
just signed your ass whippin’ boy.
“I Got That Fire” replays with the Lost Souls and Jaguar
engaged in a tense stare down as the shot cuts backstage.
A camera is set at a locker room door, which opens a few
seconds later to find the “Hardcore Icon” Kerry Cox on his way to the ring as
we head to a commercial break.

Segment 3,
Match 1 – PWA International Championship – Kerry Cox © vs. Tony Annetta
Referee: Dan
Martin
“The Mirror” by Dream Theater hits the speakers, sparking a
series of boos for Tony Annetta as he makes his way to the ring. The former
International Champion has some words with the official, but looks focused on
regaining the title. Kiss’ “War Machine” hits and the brand new champion, Kerry
Cox, makes his entrance to a huge pop from the crowd. Cox wastes no time in
sliding into the ring, but that allows Annetta to stomp on his back as the bell
quickly sounds.
Madsen: That’s good strategy by Annetta. He’s not even
letting Cox get his bearings.
Cade: It definitely is; he’s trying to take Cox out of this
match as early as possible.
Annetta lifts Cox off the mat and whips him to the ropes.
Cox bounces off and runs right into a hard back elbow! Annetta makes a quick
cover for one…two…and Cox kicks out! Annetta tries to keep his advantage,
locking on a rear chinlock. Cox is slowly being worn down, but the crowd noise
gets him back into the match! Cox reaches his feet and breaks the hold with an
elbow to the gut before hitting the ropes and flooring Annetta with a flying
shoulder tackle!
Cade: Cox is feeling it right now!
Madsen: It’s alright; Annetta has him right where he wants
him.
Cox lifts Annetta up and holds him for the Coxsucker DDT,
but Annetta feels it coming and charges him back into a corner. Annetta keeps
him there with another hard hit to the ribs before backing up and charging once
more. Annetta gets to Cox, but the champion moves out of the way, sending
Annetta crashing into the post! Annetta doubles over in pain, but walks right
into Cox, who blasts him with Coxsucker DDT! The champion covers for 1---2---3!
Cade: Its over! Cox retains the title!
Madsen: There will be another night for Annetta; I
guarantee it.
Winner via
pinfall at 3:20 and still PWA International Champion – Kerry Cox
Segment 4 –
Backstage
We
cut backstage, where Tracie Reed is standing by with the members of D-Unit.
Reed: D-Unit, there have been rumors that you were issuing
a challenge to Paul Dawkins tonight. Is that true?
Renegade: Sure is. Paul has been running his mouth a little
too long, and I think he’s started to realize that he can’t beat the
Destruction Unit all alone. So what we are gonna do is allow Paul to pick a
partner of his choice to face Darkstar and Maverick right here in Chicago.
Reed: That sounds good, but won’t you just end up
interfering like you always do?
Renegade: What kind of question is that? Hell no, we won’t
be interfering.
Voice: That’s exactly right.
The
camera moves to the left, revealing PWA Owner Bryan Conroy!
Conroy: Neither you or Bubbles will interfere in that
match, because you are officially barred from ringside.
Renegade: Oh, come on Conroy!
Conroy: That’s the deal. I’m on my way out of the building
to tend to some business, but I will be watching guys.

Segment 5, Match 2 – PWA Women’s Championship – Allison Kelly © vs. Camieko
Referee: Billy
Vargas
Ring announcer Lee Palmer climbs into the ring, ready to
announce the champion and challenger for this match as “She Get It From Her
Mama” by Juvenile hits.
Palmer: The next contest is scheduled for
one fall and it is for the PWA Women’s Championship! Introducing the
challenger, from Richmond, Virginia, weighing 130 pounds, she is the original
Hot Girl, Camieko!
A warm reception greets Camieko as she makes her way into
the ring.
Cade: Camieko was granted this title match by Bryan Conroy
as a result of her obviously being screwed out of a win against Dee Licious
this past Tuesday on Frequency.
Madsen: He did, but is he doing her a favor or not? She’s
gotta face Allison Kelly tonight!
“White America” by Eminem begins and Palmer begins to speak
once again.
Palmer: And her opponent, making her way
to the ring from Valley Stream, New York, weighing123 pounds, she is the PWA
Women’s Champion, Allison Kelly!
The champion emerges to a chorus of boos, but looks cocky
as ever on her way to the ring. She climbs inside and hands her title to
Vargas, who holds it high in the air for the crowd to see. The bell sounds and
the action gets underway with a collar-and-elbow tie up. Camieko gets the upper
hand and backs Kelly into a corner. Vargas calls for a clean break, and Camieko
gives one. The ladies circle the ring, but Kelly shoots in with a single leg
takedown, rolling right into a side headlock.
Cade: Tremendous wrestling skills from Allison right here.
Madsen: Camieko is good too, but Allison isn’t the women’s
champion for nothing.
Camieko gets to her feet, but Allison keeps the hold tight.
Camieko shoves her to the ropes and downs her with a shoulder block. Camieko
bounces off the ropes and charges, but Kelly sidesteps her and tosses her over
the top rope! Vargas yells at the champion, but she shrugs him off and chases
Camieko to the outside. She lifts up the challenger and throws her right into
the steel ring steps!
Madsen: That had to hurt.
Cade: Camieko is definitely in a bad way right now.
Kelly
grabs Camieko by the hair and rolls her back into the ring, where she makes a
cover. Vargas only gets a two count, and the champion gets right in his face!
Vargas gets right back in hers and she decides to end things, signaling for the
nightmare on Helms Street. She lifts Camieko up, but the challenger surprises her
with a small package! Vargas counts one…two…thre- and Kelly barely escapes!
Cade: Camieko almost had her right there!
Madsen: That count looked fast to me!
Camieko looks revitalized, blasting Kelly in the face with
three successive right hands. The champion is staggered and Camieko whips her
to the ropes. Kelly bounces off, and Camieko is looking for a back body drop.
The champion sees it coming and stops short, pounding Camieko in the back and
hitting the Nightmare on Helms Street neckbreaker! Kelly covers, 1---2---3!
Madsen: see, Allison won again! She can’t be stopped!
Cade: She did, but what the hell is she doing now?
Kelly
is handed her title, but she throws it down and goes right back on the attack
of Camieko. The bell rings continuously as Kelly pounds away on her fallen
challenger. Allison lifts her for another neckbreaker, but Jenny Ottati barrels
down the ramp and into the ring! Kelly lets Camieko fall and she grabs her
title, barely escaping Ottati as she retreats back up the ramp. “Just A Girl”
by No Doubt hits, and Jenny helps Camieko up to a rousing ovation.
Winner via pinfall at 6:11 and still PWA Women’s Champion – Allison Kelly
Segment 6 –
Backstage
We
are now inside the dressing room of the Lost Souls, where Speed Demon and Reaper
are talking about tonight’s matchup.
Reaper: I can’t wait to get out there man. Can you imagine
what Greg and vulture will think when I hand-deliver them a world title shot?
Demon: You wouldn’t save it for yourself?
Reaper: No, that would only make them more upset. I’ll get
the benefits of it tenfold, down the line. But tonight is the night that Jaguar
gets broken down. I’ve already beaten Calysto, and he’ll just be a bigger notch
in my belt.
Demon: Damn right.
We
cut to a different area backstage, where Paul Dawkins is sticking his head in a
dressing room.
Dawkins: Hey man, you ready? Cool. I’ll see you out there.
Dawkins allows the door to shut, and he grins a big smile
as he walks out of the camera’s view, likely on his way to the ring.

Segment 8 –
Ringside
Cade: Before we get to our next match, we want to take you
to what happened last Tuesday on Frequency. The Machine teamed with Scott
Hosemann and Kerry Cox to defeat James Biamonte, D-Gunz and Tony Annetta.
Madsen: And with that win, Sonny is now required to face
The Machine inside a 15-foot high steel cage on Frequency this Tuesday! I don’t
see how he can win.
Cade: Well we do have to realize that Sonny does know what
he is doing in the ring. He was a former World Champion and Intercontinental
Champion in CAW, but by the same token, he is going against The Machine.
Earlier today, before the doors of the United Center opened, Sonny was here
training with his crew for his upcoming match. Lets roll that footage.
A graphic reading “earlier today” shows at the bottom left
of the screen as we see clips of Sonny DiBono running up the steps and through
the aisles in the United Center. He wears an extremely sweaty jumpsuit as
D-Gunz, James Biamonte, and Tony Annetta look on. Later, he wrestles against
his buddies in the ring, taking bumps like the days of old. He hits an
impressive spinebuster on Biamonte, but the package comes to a close with all
four on the same page, and Sonny feeling confident.
Segment 10,
Match 3 – Paul Dawkins and A Mystery Partner vs. D-Unit
Referee: Jose
Soares
“Back Down” by 50 Cent hits the PA system and boos pour in
as Palmer begins to speak.
Palmer: The next tag team contest is
scheduled for one fall. First, on their way to the ring at a total combined
weight of 395 pounds, Maverick and Darkstar, D-Unit!
The premier tag team of D-Unit looks very confident as they
enter the ring and “Move Bitch” by Ludacris, I-20 and Mystikal hits the
speakers.
Palmer: And their opponents, first, from
North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, weighing 245 pounds, Paul Dawkins!
Dawkins receives a very favorable reaction as he walks down
the ramp and into the ring. D-Unit looks hungry as his music cuts off, and
silence falls over the crowd…until “Magic Stick” by Lil’ Kim and 50 Cent hits
and three D-Bombs spark from the ceiling and explode on impact with the ramp!
Palmer: And his partner, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing
258 pounds, he is “Da Playboy”; he is Ro-meo!
Romeo enters the arena to a huge ovation from the crowd and
Dawkins quickly starts things off in the ring, clubbing away on Darkstar.
Soares calls for the bell and Dawkins takes the fight right to Darkstar, Irish
whipping him to the ropes and hitting a picture-perfect dropkick! Dawkins makes
a pin attempt for one…two…and Darkstar kicks out! Dawkins lifts him up by the
arm, and points to the corner before tagging in Romeo!
Cade: And here comes Romeo!
Madsen: It doesn’t look good for D-unit right now.
Romeo barrels into the ring and kicks Darkstar right in the
ribcage before whipping him to the ropes and downing him with a clothesline!
Romeo covers, but only gets a two count. He lifts Darkstar up, but the rookie
rakes him in the eyes! Darkstar makes a tag to Maverick, who rushes into the
ring only to receive a clothesline from Romeo as well! Romeo picks him up for a
reverse Death Valley Driver, but Maverick slips from the DVD and rolls him up
for 1---2---and Romeo kicks out! Both men get back up and Maverick charges but
Romeo tosses his 185-pound frame in the air and flapjacks him down! Dawkins
calls for a tag and Romeo obliges, bringing him back in.
Cade: Romeo and Dawkins are dominating right now.
Madsen: Sure are. And remember, Renegade and Bubbles cannot
interfere.
Dawkins continues to go to work on Maverick, but up the
ramp, Mike Grieco and Dee Licious appear, taunting Romeo! “Da Playboy” hops off
the ring apron and starts up the ramp, causing Soares to lead a charge of
referees trying to break up a potential showdown. Dawkins sets Maverick up for
the Sweetness in the ring, but Darkstar grabs a chair and smacks him in the
back with it! Maverick sets Dawkins up on the mat near the corner before
scaling the turnbuckles and nailing the D-Unit Splash! Maverick covers Dawkins,
and Soares slides back into the ring to count 1,2,3!
Cade: Damn! D-Unit has stolen this match!
“Back Down” plays again, and Grieco exits with Dee as Romeo
runs back to the ring. Maverick and Darkstar quickly escape as Romeo checks on
Dawkins.
Winners via
pinfall at 5:22 – D-Unit
An advertisement is then shown
on the Jumbotron for our next pay-per-view spectacular, “PWA Symphony of
Destruction,” which will be live on pay-per-view in four weeks, Saturday, June
7, from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Featured on the pay-per-view will be the 30-man Symphony of Destruction
match, in which two men start the match, scoring elimination by pinfall or
submission only, and a new superstar enters every two minutes thereafter. The man remaining once all thirty have
entered will be the number one contender to the PWA World Heavyweight
Championship and challenge for the title on Saturday, August 9 at “PWA
Everlasting Epic II” at the Superdome in New Orleans.
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
Segment 12 – Jumbotron
We are shown a shot of Jaguar
walking through the backstage area, on his way to the ring.
Cade: Folks,
we are just 3 weeks away from what could be the biggest night the PWA has seen.
It’s in Atlanta, the capital of the south, and we will be coming to the Georgia
Dome for the Symphony of Destruction!
Madsen: The winner of that
30-man match will face the PWA Champion at Everlasting Epic II on August 9!
Cade: It will be a huge event,
and tickets will go on sale this Tuesday morning at 11AM. And guess who will be
at the box office Rick?
Madsen: I don’t know. You have
the damn card.
Cade: It will be none other
than Atlanta’s own, Romeo! We just saw him in the ring and I know he’s excited
about the event coming to his hometown, but now let’s get to the ring for our
main event!
Segment 14 – Main Event – Reaper vs. Jaguar
Referee: Matt Hansen
The arena goes pitch black as
“A Violent Reaction” by American Head Charge begins and Lee Palmer begins to
speak.
Palmer: This
main event match is scheduled for one fall. First, on his way to the ring,
representing S.I.N. and weighing 245 pounds, Reaper!
A spotlight shines atop the ramp, where
the Lost Souls emerge to another reaction full of boos. They approach the ring
apron, where Matt Hansen climbs out and tells Demon to go to the back! The
crowd cheers as Speed Demon objects to his ejection, but he looks confident in
Reaper and slowly walks backstage. Reaper bounces off the ropes as the house
lights go down again. “I Got That Fire” replays, and Jaguar walks out to a huge
pop from the crowd!
Palmer: And his opponent, making his way
to the ring from Jacksonville, Florida, weighing 242 pounds, he is the PWA
Heavyweight Champion of the World, this is Jaguar!
Wearing the PWA Championship around his waist, Jaguar poses
in front of his flaming fireworks and makes his way to the ring. He takes the
belt off and tosses it to Hansen before coming to blows with Reaper! Reaper and
Jaguar waste no time in partaking in the fisticuffs and Reaper wins the battle
with a knee to the gut. Hansen finally gets the bell rung, and Reaper goes
right to work on the injured back of the champion.
Cade: Reaper is targeting that injured lower back of
Jaguar.
Madsen: I talked to Jaguar earlier, and he said his back is
feeling a little better, but Reaper is still doing the smart thing by targeting
it.
Reaper clubs Jaguar in the back and the Hot Boy seeks
refuge in a corner. With his back against the turnbuckles, Reaper lights up the
chest of Jaguar with a hard knife-edge chop! Reaper connects with another, but
this only serves to wake Jaguar up, as he switches their positions and reddens
Reaper’s chest with hard, open-hand chops! Jaguar Irish whips Reaper across the
ring to the opposite corner and charges him, but Reaper gets a boot in his
face! Jaguar is staggered by the impact, and Reaper scores with a bulldog
headlock! Reaper covers for 1---2---and Jaguar makes a kick out!
Madsen: Reaper looks pretty good in there.
Cade: He does, and remember that if Reaper wins this match,
a member of S.I.N. will get a world title shot this Tuesday on Frequency.
Reaper pulls Jaguar up by his shirt and tosses him into a
corner. He hits him with a few shots to the ribs before picking him up and
hitting a backbreaker! Reaper covers again for one…two…and another kickout!
Reaper begins to show signs of frustration, and as he lifts Jaguar up, the
champion surprises him with a taped right to the face! Jaguar follows with
another and hits the ropes, but he runs back to find a hard powerslam from
Reaper! The Lost Soul covers again, but Jaguar still kicks out at two. A solid
“Jaguar” chant begins as Reaper clamps on a sleeper.
Cade: Reaper is trying to wear Jaguar down here.
Madsen: Not a bad move when you’re trying to beat the World
champ.
Jaguar begins to pump his arms, and he uses the ropes to
get to his feet. He elbows Reaper twice to break the hold and he scores with a
jumping side kick that floors the former tag team champion! Jaguar and Reaper
get up and the champion whips him towards the ropes, but Reaper reverses and
shoots Jaguar in. Reaper attempts a leapfrog, but Jaguar stops short, kicks him
in the gut and nails Version 1.0! He covers, one…two…and Reaper kicks out!
Jaguar gets to his feet, then heads to the outside, climbing to the top rope!
Cade: Jaguar is looking for the Suga Splash right here! If
he hits it, this one has to be over!
Madsen: But look up the ramp, Speed Demon is back!
Demon rushes down the ramp as Jaguar climbs down from his
perch. Demon climbs onto the ring apron, but Hansen gets right back in his
face! Jaguar’s attention is diverted, allowing Reaper enough time to get to his
feet. Reaper charges towards Jaguar, but he moves, causing Reaper to barrel
into his partner! Demon is knocked from the ring apron, and Reaper backs right
into Jaguar, who folds him up with the Carrjack! Jaguar covers, and hooks the
leg for one…two…three!
Cade: That’s it! Jaguar wins it!
Madsen: Oh man, S.I.N. will not be happy over this!
Hansen gives the title belt back to Jaguar, who holds it
high into the air and exits up the ramp as “I Got That fire” plays again. Speed
Demon climbs into the ring to check on Reaper as Overdrive comes to a close.
