Segment 1 – Opening

The PWA logo flashes onto the screen as a brand new superstar-filled opening hits the screen. We are then taken inside the Continental Airlines Arena at the Meadowlands Complex in New Jersey, where Sevendust’s “Enemy” accompanies an incredible pyrotechnics display before the camera closes in on our commentators.

Cade: Hello everyone and welcome to the one year anniversary edition of Overdrive! I’m Nick Cade and we are just one hour from Revival. Justin, the atmosphere is absolutely electric inside this arena tonight!

Schenck: It sure is, to say the absolute least! We got Sevendust playing the new theme, we got a whole new look, this is huge! It was one year ago when Overdrive first aired, just 9 miles across the river in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Now, we’re here in Jersey, ready for one of the biggest events of all-time.

Cade: There will be a career ended tonight, but we will get to that later.  For now, lets get to the ring for our first matchup, which will be for the Women’s Championship!

Segment 2, Match 1 – PWA Women’s Championship – Lauren Tantalus © vs. Allison Kelly

Referee: Dan Martin

Ring announcer Lee Palmer steps into the ring as the lights dim a bit and Eminem’s “White America” begins to play.

Palmer: The opening contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the PWA Women’s Championship! Introducing first, the challenger. From Valley Stream, New York, Allisonnnnn Kellll-ly!

Kelly arrives to a cascade of boos from the capacity crowd, and she ignores every last one of them as she makes the long walk to the ring. As she enters, the crowd noise changes drastically as “Free” by VAST hits.

Palmer: And her opponent, from Denver, Colorado, she is the PWA Women’s Champion, Laurennnnn Tant-alussss!

The champion arrives to an overwhelming pop and quickly takes her title from her waist as Kelly goes out after her!

Cade: This one is starting early!

The challenger takes advantage of the jump-start and knocks Tantalus to the ground with a right hand. She quickly peels the champion up by her hair and rolls her into the ring. Kelly climbs in and begins to stomp away on the popular rookie titleholder as the crowd gets behind Tantalus.

Cade: The crowd is starting to get behind Lauren here.

Schenck: Allison hasn’t been cheered much in her career, she’s used to it. She just needs to keep her focus here.

Kelly slams the champion down and goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. She grabs Tantalus’ head and clamps down in a rear chinlock. Martin gets down and asks if Tantalus wants to quit, but the champion doesn’t give in an inch. The crowd begins to cheer once more, bringing Tantalus up to her feet. The champion nails one elbow to the midsection, then another, and another before finally breaking the hold! She hits the ropes and ducks a clothesline, but Kelly doubles her over with a kick to the midsection on her return and follows up with the Raunchinator! Kelly makes a cover, and Martin counts one…two…and the champion kicks out!

Schenck: She kicked out! Allison is in shock!

Cade: And not by a little bit either; the champion is not dead yet!

Kelly gets up and gets right in the face of the official, but Martin refuses to back down. The distraction allows Tantalus to get to her feet and she spins Kelly around and kicks her in the stomach before attempting the Tiger Driver, but the challenger fights out of it and shoves her towards the official. Martin manages to get out of the way and Tantalus hits the turnbuckles hard. Kelly charges at her, but Tantalus manages to dodge away and the challenger hits the shoulder post with tremendous impact!

Tantalus exits the ring and begins to climb up to the top rope. Kelly slowly staggers up to her feet, but the champion dives off and crashes right on top of her with a suicide plancha! Kelly falls in a heap and Tantalus makes a cover for 1----2----3!

Cade: What a move! We’ve never seen Lauren attempt anything like that suicide plancha before.

Schenck: She’s beaten Allison Kelly twice in a row now Troy. This Lauren Tantalus might be our rookie of the year this time around.

Cade: Well she pulled out all the stops to get the win tonight, and so will Bryan Conroy, who is standing by with Tracie Reed. Take it away Trace.

Winner via pinfall at 5:59 and still PWA Women’s Champion - Lauren Tantalus

Segment 3 – Backstage

The shot goes backstage to the interview area, where Tracie Reed is standing by with PWA Owner Bryan Conroy.

Reed: Bryan, tonight you go one-on-one with your cousin, Mike Troha, in a match with tremendous ramifications. What are your thoughts?

Conroy: First off Tracie, let me say what an incredible night this has been already. The crowd is dynamic out there and kudos to Lauren and Allison for putting on one hell of a match. Now onto Mike Troha. This guy has been a thorn in my side ever since the day he walked through these doors. You’re right Tracie, the ramifications are huge. If he wins, he gets to challenge for the PWA Title once again, not that it means he will ever win it. However, if he loses I get what I want, and that is to watch him squirm. He would still be unable to challenge for that title, and every time he shows up to a PWA event, he knows that he is losing 75% of his paycheck every time he walks through the door. And to boot, he must work all four dates a week for every week on the calendar. Its good to be an owner Tracie, but it’ll feel better to stick it to my no good cousin right here tonight.

Segment 4 – Jumbotron

We are shown a moment from last year’s premiere edition of Overdrive, where the Progressive Title was defended between six men in a wild time limited matchup.

The crowd begins to completely back Romeo as the clock dwindles down. Kerry Cox and Anthony Annetta have been taken out of the action as Blizzard and Infernus begin to brawl in, and then out of the ring. A sickening smile comes over the red face of Bodycount as he stalks the champion. Bodycount raises his arm into the air for the Monster Chokeslam with 30 seconds left! Romeo staggers up, and Bodycount hits the move with tremendous impact! Bodycount looks at the clock reading 10 seconds left, but before he can pin Romeo, he’s attacked from behind by Infernus. Infernus gets a Monster Chokeslam for his troubles as the fans count along with the clock, 5-4-3-2-1!

Cade: That’s it! Romeo has done it!

Debonis: We have a new Progressive Champion, but Bodycount had the match well in hand.

A battered, and now bloody Romeo holds his belt high in the air, with the assistance of the recently emerged Camieko, as the fans shout their approval over the blaring of “Freak Da Hoes”.

Cade: Either way, you have to hand it to all six men. But what an effort by our new Progressive Champion, Romeo!

Debonis: He definitely proved some critics wrong tonight. Romeo has won the first match in Overdrive history!

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Segment 5 - Ringside

Cade: That was some moment last year Justin, the crowd went nuts when Romeo won the first Overdrive matchup and captured the Progressive Title.

Schenck: It was, but Romeo was taken out of commission by Infernus a few weeks ago and hasn’t been seen since. Infernus has issued a challenge to him for the International title tonight, but do you think Romeo really has a chance in hell of showing up?

Cade: Are you kidding me? This is all one big ruse by Infernus and Jerry Georgatos. We all know Romeo had to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee and isn’t cleared to wrestle for weeks. Hell, he’s not even here in the arena and I don’t see any way he’ll show up either!

Schenck: I know; I just wanted to hear you say it.

Cade: Don’t worry; TFU will get theirs someday.  Now onto the huge career vs. career match between The Machine and Jason Calysto. These two have gone back and forth for months now, but the road will end for one tonight. Take a look at the legendary career of the man simply known as The Machine.

Segment 6 – Jumbotron

A video airs on the Jumbotron, set to Bad Company’s self-titled track, highlighting the long and successful career of The Machine, which could come to a close tonight in a career vs. career match against Jason Calysto.

Segment 7 – Backstage

Reed: GI Jew, tonight you will face—

Jew: Sorry to cut you off, but I’ve got it from here. (Tracie shrugs and hands the mic to GI Jew) SOLOMON, the big Alaskan monster. You see, everyone here seems to be afraid of you for some reason, but me?  Hell no! You forget quickly, I was there from your get go son. I know you in out, left and right. I sent Walter out for you to be a part of MY team, not me being a part of yours. Justice and me, we had our history, but that was my boy. I said not to get carried away, but you... you just couldn’t listen could you? Maybe that six months of darkness in Alaska just sitting around and freezing with some Eskimos made you retarded. Or maybe it was getting rear ended by a moose that made you a re-re. Solomon, you’ve run roughshod throughout this entire roster since June, but you’ve never faced anyone who knows you like I do. I mean come on, we teamed for how long?  You learn a lot of things about someone living in such close quarters. I’m just a step ahead of you big man. Gindin found out on Tuesday, and its time for you to find out the same tonight. You reap what you sew Solomon, and tonight, you just dug up an ass whippin’ you’ll never forget. Payback is coming bitch, its coming.

Segment 8 – Backstage

We head backstage, where Mike Grieco is walking briskly as Dee Licious follows him from behind.

Dee: Mike, Mike wait a minute! You don’t have to do this!

Grieco: Nope, you can’t talk me out of it this time Dee. You cost me way too much lately, that’s why I’m in this match to begin with!

Dee follows helplessly behind Grieco until he runs into Co-Commissioner Kerry Cox.

Grieco: Hey Kerry.

Cox: What can I do for you Grieco?

Grieco: Well you know my match with Loki tonight?

Cox: Yeah.

Grieco: Well since I wouldn’t even be in it if it weren’t for Dee here, I need my focus entirely on Loki.

Cox: So what are you saying?

Grieco: I need you to ban her from ringside.

Cox: If it means a better match tonight, consider it done.

Grieco: (To Dee) You heard the man. That means stay back here while I kick his ass. Got it?

Dee: Got it. Give him some for me.

Grieco: All of it is for you, isn’t it?

Dee looks on in confusion as Grieco walks off to prepare.

Segment 9 – Backstage

We cut to the back door of the arena, where Jason Calysto has just entered the arena. The crowd parts like the Red Sea as “The Iceman” enters his dressing room for what could be his final match.

Segment 10 – Jumbotron

The screen displays another clip of last year’s Overdrive premiere, where cousins Jon Dulberg and Ryan Knakal teamed up to defeat Steve Beovich and Anthony Desio.

Beovich uses the ropes to pull himself up as Desio charges into the ring. Desio nears Dulberg, who shows tremendous ring presence by sending “BK” over the top rope with a back body drop! Knakal hits the ring floor to keep Desio at bay while Beovich swings a desperation right hand at Dulberg. Dulberg ducks it and hits a huge release German suplex! Dulberg makes a cover and hooks the far leg, 1----2----3!

Cade: What a big win for Dulberg and Knakal!

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Segment 11 – Backstage

We are taken back to the interview position, where Scott Cornelius is next to Jaguar.

Cornelius: Jag, tonight you will team up with Vulture for the first time in years to face TFU for the Tag Team Championship. But the question that looms is how can you be so sure that Vulture won’t stab you in the back tonight and side with TFU against you?

Jaguar: Corny, I’ve heard this question for weeks now. Why doesn’t anyone think I know what I’m doing? I know the risk I’m at tonight. Have I spoken to Vulture? No. Is Vulture even here yet? No. Do I trust Vulture? Hell no. But this is something based on respect. The both of us can say that there aren’t many people in this business that we respect more than each other. Vulture isn’t the type to lie down for TFU after what they did to him before they reformed. They damn near broke the guy’s neck. Vulture and I will team up against TFU tonight, but not because of each other. We’ll do it because we hate TFU. That what unites us from here on out. But now that I think of it, things will be really interesting once we take their belts.

Cornelius: Thanks and good luck to you tonight.

Segment 12, Match 2 – Tornado Tag Match – James Biamonte, Jeff Knakal, and Ryan Knakal vs. Synergy

Referee: Jason Church

The remix to “Get F*cked Up” by Lil’ Kim and Miami’s ICONZ hits the PA system, bringing out James Biamonte and the Knakal Brothers to a highly negative reaction from the crowd.

Cade: We just saw another clip from last year’s premiere, where Ryan Knakal teamed up with Jon Dulberg to beat Steve Beovich and Anthony Desio. Tonight, the cousins are against each other with Knakal on this team and Dulberg and Beovich leading Synergy. Who’s gonna come out on top here?

Schenck: I have no idea. All I know is that its gonna be complete chaos in this one.

Cade: Safe bet.

“Come With Me” by P. Diddy and Jimmy Page hits next, bringing Dulberg, Beovich and Don Capriglione out to a raucous ovation! The trio wastes no time in rushing into the ring and getting the fight underway!

Church signals for the ring bell as the two teams go at it around the ring. Ryan and Jeff team up on Capriglione and Beovich, while Dulberg takes it to Biamonte in a corner. The Knakals back up and attempt a double clothesline, but The Omega and MVP duck down and back body drop them over the top and to the floor! The former tag champs get up, but Dulberg hits the ropes and his teammates lift him before hurling him over the top and crashing down atop them!

Cade: What a death-defying move by Synergy!

Schenck: This one is already out of control Troy! We got bodies flying everywhere!

Beovich goes out to help Dulberg, while Biamonte grabs Capriglione for the Buzzkill. The former Progressive titleholder manages to fight out of it and bounces Biamonte off the ropes before connecting with a big spinebuster in the middle of the ring! Biamonte is flat on his back as Capriglione climbs to the top rope and crashes right down on his chest with the Upper Decker! Biamonte instantly clutches his chest as Capriglione covers for the 1---2---3! The fans celebrate as “Come With Me” hits again on the PA system.

Cade: Just like that, Synergy wins it!

Schenck: Capriglione looks none too happy in there. Why is Dulberg’s music going when he won the match?

Cade: Never mind all that, I think Biamonte is hurt in there. Capriglione really squashed him with that big splash Justin.

Schenck: Hopefully we can get an update on his condition later. For now, lets take a look at a man whose career will not end tonight; we call him “The Iceman”.

Winners via pinfall at 4:18 - Synergy

Segment 13 – Jumbotron

A video package airs, set to Oasis’ “F*ckin in the Bushes,” highlighting the illustrious career of the Iceman Jason Calysto, a career which could meet a sudden end later tonight.

Segment 14 – Backstage

We cut back to the parking lot, where the familiar Renegade Jeep pulls in. A crowd forms and watches along as The Machine climbs out. The former PWA Champion grabs his bags and power walks into the arena for what could be the last time.

Segment 15 – Jumbotron

Static-X’s "All in Wait" hits the speakers and we see a graphic appear on the screen that reads "PWA Revival Report."  From there, the shot takes us to a backstage set and PWA reporter Ron O'Brien, who is standing in front of a backdrop featuring the Revival logo.
