PWA
OVERDRIVE
Greensboro,
North Carolina
November 15,
2003
Segment 1 –
Opening
The PWA logo
flashes onto the screen and fades into the opening montage for Overdrive. As
“All My Life” by the Foo Fighters plays, we are taken inside the historic
Greensboro coliseum, where an incredible fireworks display lights up the Fallen
Souls set. The camera pans the crowd before settling in on our commentators,
Nick Cade and Justin Schenck.
Cade: Hello
everyone and welcome to PWA Overdrive! We are just moments away from Fallen
Souls, and something in me just tells me that this will be an incredible night
Justin!
Schenck: It most
certainly will be Nick! Mike Tortorici will defend the PWA World Title against
Loki, Jaguar will return in the tag team title match, and what about that
stretcher match? This really is gonna be something to see right here in
Greensboro.
Cade: this
building has a ton of rich wrestling history, and tonight will surely add to
it. I know a gentleman ready to make some history of his own tonight, and he’s
standing by with our correspondent, Tracie Reed.
The camera cuts
to the interview position, where Tracie Reed is alongside Paul Dawkins.
Reed: Paul,
tonight you will go up against Superstar Scott Hosemann in what could turn out
to be your first singles win on pay-per-view. What are your thoughts?
Dawkins: It’s
been a few weeks since I got on Hosemann’s case about disrespecting the career
of Kerry Cox, and since then he’s done nothing but disrespect me instead. He’s
cheated to beat me in a tag match, beat me down after I pinned him a few weeks
ago, and has basically acted like a lunatic. Well that’s all going to end
tonight. I’m the most underrated guy in this company and it’s about time for me
to break out. I’m going to use you for that Hosemann. I’m going to prove that
my win over you a few weeks ago was no fluke, and I’m taking my first
pay-per-view win also at the same time.
The shot goes to
the parking lot, where a gold Nissan with rental tags in the back pulls to a
stop. The driver steps out in the form of Justice, who places his bags over his
shoulder to enter the arena. As he nears the door, the big man is approached by
Rudy Montenora.
Justice: Yo
Rudy, what’s goin on man?
Montenora: Not
much big fella, just getting ready for my match tonight.
Justice: You got
Troha in the bag tonight, I feel it.
Montenora: Oh me
too, but what about you and Solomon?
Justice: What
about him?
Montenora: He’s
a tough customer man. I faced him a little while back and he’s as bad as they
come dude.
Justice: I’ve
heard all the hype about Solomon, but tonight I’m ready to bring him to
Justice. He’s run roughshod around here for months, but it stops tonight. I’ll
see you around man. Good luck tonight.
Montenora:
Thanks.
The camera is
set in a hallway, where Infernus is entering the building. He turns a corner
and runs into reporter Scott Cornelius.
Cornelius: Hey
Infernus, you got a minute?
Infernus: What
is it Scott?
Cornelius: I
just wanted to get your feelings about your International title match with
Scythe tonight.
Infernus: I’ve
only got one, and that’s to win. This match should have happened last month,
and Scythe has only been avoiding the inevitable. Even though he outweighs me
by about 60 pounds, I still hit him with my Ganso Bomb without breaking a
sweat. The mystique of Scythe ends tonight and I will become the brand new
International Champion, no matter what it takes!
Cornelius:
Alright thanks. Good luck to you.
Infernus: I
won’t need it.

Segment 5 –
Backstage
We return from
the break to head back to the interview area, where Tracie Reed is with Lauren
Tantalus.
Reed: Lauren,
you are just a few moments away from your rematch for the Women’s Championship
against Allison Kelly, but after she hit you with her belt the other night, how
are you feeling physically?
Tantalus:
Actually, I’m feeling alright Tracie. My head is still a little shaken up, but
that will not stop me tonight. Allison Kelly has ducked me for long enough, and
tonight, I’m putting an end to her reign and I promise to leave Greensboro as
the Women’s Champion.
We head back out to the
parking lot, where the familiar 2003 red Supra pulls up. The door opens and
Scythe steps out as the crowd roars inside the arena. After taking his bags,
Scythe starts towards the building, where he also runs into Scott Cornelius.
Cornelius: Can I
get a word Scythe?
Scythe: Sure,
shoot.
Cornelius: I was
speaking to Infernus earlier, and he told me that no matter what it took, he
would walk out of here with your International Championship in his possession.
What are your thoughts on that?
Scythe: Unless
he plans on stealing it, I don’t see it happening. For weeks now, Infernus has
been a little thorn in my side and I’ve had enough of it. He’ll just prove to
be another man that I’ll be forced to cut down to size in order to keep my
International title. Actually…
Scythe’s words
stop completely as Jaguar walks right in front of him. The crowd rages indoors
as the two shake hands.
Jaguar: How you
doin cuz?
Scythe: Uh…I’m
good man. I’m good.
Jaguar: Glad to
hear it.
Scythe and Cornelius look on
as Jaguar heads inside the arena, ready for his first action in weeks.
Cade: There’s
the proof right there, Jaguar is back and he looks great Justin!
Schenck: I’m not
so sold on that yet. He hasn’t been around in awhile now and I think TFU and
the Lost Souls will take full advantage of that in the triple threat tag title
match tonight.
Cade: I’m sure
they will, but let’s get a word from the champions. Tracie.
Reed:
Thanks guys. I’m here with Reaper and Speed Demon, and tonight, you guys will
defend your PWA Tag Team titles in what could be your biggest match to date.
How do you feel about taking on the Hot Boy$ and TFU at the same time?
Demon:
That’s not a position most people would enjoy being in, but we thrive on those
types of situations. I’ve got tremendous respect for the Hot Boy$ and TFU. Both
teams have done great things as tag teams, but that trend is done tonight. Its
time for the Lost Souls to step up and make their claim to greatness, and I
can’t think of a better place to do it than here at Fallen Souls.
Reaper: Tracie, it doesn’t
matter who we face. We have said for months that we are the best team in this
business, and this is a perfect time for us to prove it. Hot Boy$ and
especially TFU, look out because some Souls will definitely fall tonight.
We cut back to the hallway,
where the crafty Renegade is making his way towards the ring for his upcoming
matchup with “Dynamite” Dean Nash.
Bubbles is alongside Renegade until he stops, laughs and sends his
bodyguard to the back, saying that Nash won’t be that big of a problem for his
efforts.

Segment 10 –
Backstage
We are taken back to the
parking lot, where a black limo comes to a stop. The driver opens the door, and
Jason Calysto steps out as the crowd boos inside. Scott Cornelius wastes no
time in approaching Calysto for the big scoop.
Cornelius: Hey Jay, got a minute?
Calysto: Okay, first take a step back man. Do you have
nothing better to do than wait for us superstars to come up here so you could
get right in their faces the second the arrive?
Cornelius: Well, kinda…but if you…
Calysto: Ask your question!
Cornelius: Okay, you’ve got The Machine in the first ever
stretcher match in PWA history, what are you thinking going into it?
Calysto: Uh…I think I’m going to win, for starters.
Everyone around here is catering to The Machine and kissing his ass. What do I
get? Nothing. The whole world thinks The Machine is gonna rip me in half and
wheel me out on a stretcher. That’s what you think isn’t it?
Cornelius: Well…
Calysto: Shut up. The
Machine is big and strong and all that jazz, but tonight, he will finally
realize that he cannot outthink The Iceman Jason Calysto. Now get outta my way
chump!
Segment 11,
Match 1 – Renegade vs. Dynamite Dean Nash
Referee: Jose
Soares
“Renegade” by
Eminem and Jay-Z begins, bringing a chorus of boos for Renegade’s arrival.
Cade: Renegade
and Dean Nash have been at each other’s necks for weeks now.
Schenck: Well
this won’t be Nash’s first appearance on Overdrive, but I don’t see him getting
past Renegade here tonight.
As Renegade
settles in the ring, Papa Roach’s “Time and Time Again” hits, and the crowd
gives a warm pop to Dynamite Dean Nash as he walks to the ring. Nash steps
inside and Renegade approaches him quickly. Nash responds with a hard left to
the face and Soares signals for the bell to start the match.
Nash backs
Renegade up with another shot and whips him across the ring. Nash jumps for a
dropkick, but the veteran holds onto the ropes, allowing Nash to fall flat.
Renegade quickly gets back on his attack, peppering Nash with punches and
kicks.
Schenck: See
this is what I mean; Renegade is too much for this rookie.
Cade: Time will
tell the answer on that.
Renegade picks
up Nash and shoots him to the ropes. Nash returns and hits the at once Renegade
nails him with a double-hand chop to the chest. Renegade gets on the middle
rope and nails Nash right in the head with a fist drop! Renegade covers and
hooks the leg for 1---2---and Nash kicks out.
Renegade kicks
Nash in the gut and jumps up for an axe kick, but only finds air and the canvas
as Nash backs out of the way. Nash waits for him to get up and Renegade throws
an instinctive right hand, but Nash blocks it and sticks him with a huge DDT!
Cade: What a big
DDT! Nash might have him beaten right now.
Schenck: Well
the moron doesn’t seem to realize it. He’s going to the top rope.
With Nash high
above his opponent on the top rope, he flies off and connects with his Diving
Dragon Attack! Nash hooks the leg and the ref counts 1----2----3!
Cade: What were
you saying earlier?
Schenck: Even a
blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes Nick, so he should appreciate his lucky
win tonight.
Cade:
Whatever you say Justin, lets send it over to our broadcast colleague, Ron
O’Brien.
Winner via
pinfall at 4:26 – Dean Nash
