MCI CENTER

WASHINGTON, D.C.

SEGMENT 8:  BACKSTAGE:
We return from the break to find the arena security still trying to back Anthony Failla from the ring, where Mike Grieco is being attended to. As they shove him near the arena exit, they run into Bryan Conroy, who is absolutely seething.

Conroy: Let him go for a second; let him go! Failla, I told you after your fit at Everlasting Epic that this can't happen again and how do you respond? By doing it again Sunday night in Jersey City! I warned you again and what do you do? You go out there and ruin a great match!

Failla: So?!

Conroy: So, you're gonna have plenty of time to get your act together Anthony. Because I can't have a loose cannon ruining our events like this, you're suspended for a month! Now get him the hell outta here!

Security grabs Failla again and he scoffs at Conroy before being led out of the arena.

SEGMENT 9:  RINGSIDE:
Back at ringside, “F*ckin in the Bushes” explodes onto the speakers and the crowd begins cheering rabidly as the Iceman Jason Calysto makes his way to the ring.  Calysto smiles from ear to ear as he grabs a microphone and steps into the ring.

Calysto:  Wow, it’s always great to get a reception like that.  You know, I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d make it here tonight, but I’m sure glad I did.  I sent Machine’s ass home packing and it felt great!  And to boot, I’m one of five finalists to be named number one contender to the PWA Championship later tonight.  Unbelievable.  It’s been a long, hard road back, and I’m sure you have some questions.  The one I’ve heard most often is what’s next for the Iceman?  It’s a good question, but the answer isn’t really hard to find.  Still not sure what I’m talking about?  Let’s roll the videotape.

A clip from the December 30, 2003 edition of Frequency airs:

The camera cuts backstage, seeing Jason Calysto, his bags over his arms, saying goodbye to several people as he reaches the exit of the building.  However, standing in his way is his old friend Tony Annetta.  The two stare each other down briefly, but Annetta reaches out and extends his hand.  Calysto skeptically looks at Annetta, wary of Annetta’s intentions.  However, before Calysto realizes what is happening, he turns around to see The Machine standing behind him, smiling.  Calysto finds himself surrounded and stands his ground, but is blindsided from the side by Infernus, who has just returned to the backstage area from his match!  Calysto hits the ground and the three men stomp viciously on the Iceman.  Infernus picks Calysto off the ground and slams his head into a wall!  Then, Annetta goes to the door and kicks it open, holding it open as Machine and Infernus grab Calysto off the ground and toss him right out of the building!  Machine, Annetta, and Infernus then walk away feeling vindicated, as the doors leading to the outside slam shut, Jason Calysto on the outside, gone forever from the world of the PWA that lies inside as Frequency fades to black.

The camera then cuts back to live action, where Calysto is standing in the ring.

Calysto:  In case any of you were wondering, I didn’t forget about that night.  Three men combined to ruin what was to be my last night in the PWA.  Those three men were The Machine, Tony Annetta, and Infernus.  Well, Machine is history.  I got rid of him on Saturday night.  That leaves two names on my hit list.  And I’ll say this much: I’m not gonna be hard to find.  Any time, any…

Just then, “Cold Under Water” hits the speakers and superagent Walter Gindin makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand.  Gindin is booed loudly as he stands face to face with Calysto.

Gindin:  You know, Calysto, I could help but hear you mention two of my clients by name.

Calysto:  Well then, we’ve established the fact that you’re not deaf.  I want Annetta and Infernus, and I want them in the ring.

Gindin:  (smiling) Ask and you shall receive.

Calysto, confused, turns around, only to find Infernus and Tony Annetta standing behind him with steel chairs in hand!  Infernus and Annetta, who snuck in through the crowd, proceed to do a vicious number on the Iceman, nailing him with a con-chair-to that sends Calysto crumbling to the mat bloodied.  The two continue to beat him senseless with the chairs until a parade of officials hit the ring and we go to commercial break.

-- COMMERCIAL BREAK #6 --

SEGMENT 10:  MATCH 3:  PWA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP:  CAMIEKO © VS. JADE:
Referee:  Dan Martin

Back from the break, “Zerospace” by Kidneythieves is blasting over the speakers and Jade is standing in the ring with her agent Walter Gindin, ready for her shot at the Women’s Championship.

Troy:  Walter Gindin should be ashamed of himself for what just happened, Paul.  How can he stand in the ring like that, after seeing what his boys just did to Jason Calysto?

Ferrara:  I don’t think it’s really that difficult for Gindin.

Troy:  Folks, we’ve just gotten word that due to the attack just perpetrated by Infernus and Tony Annetta, Jason Calysto has been rushed to a local medical facility and thus cannot attend tonight’s press conference.  In effect, Paul, these guys have cost Calysto a shot at the title.

Ferrara:  A POTENTIAL shot at the title, Troy.  Potential.

Moments later, “Hot Like Fire” by Aaliyah takes over the speakers and the fans cheer loudly for the new Women’s Champion Camieko as she heads down to the ring.  Camieko, who has no love lost with Jade or Gindin, quickly gets herself down the aisle and into the ring, prompting the bell to sound.

Troy:  And here we go, Camieko’s first title defense!

Ferrara:  Jade is no slouch here.  She’s a three-time Women’s Champion, and she has the ability to make Camieko’s reign a terribly short one here tonight.

Camieko and Jade lock up in the middle of the ring, with the champion getting the better of the first exchange.  Camieko hiptosses Jade to the mat and ushers her to get back to her feet, which angers Jade.  Jade gets back up and gets into another lockup, and Camieko tosses her to the mat again.  Jade now gets up, charging at Camieko, but the champion floors her with a big dropkick!  Camieko goes in for the kill from here, but Walter Gindin jumps onto the apron, distracting referee Dan Martin.  However, seeing this, Camieko runs and dropkicks Gindin off the apron!

Troy:  Good for Camieko!  Get Gindin down from there!

Ferrara:  Troy, she hit a man with glasses!  I can’t believe this!

In the midst of this confusion, Jade spins Camieko around and positions her for the side effect, but Camieko powers out of it, whips Jade around, and blasts her with a big spinebuster!  Then, with Jade prone, Camieko goes to the top and jumps off with a huge St. Kinard Splash, connecting with authority!  Camieko hooks the leg… one, two, three!

Troy:  And Camieko retains the title!

Ferrara:  What an impressive victory!

The referee hands Camieko her belt as “Hot Like Fire” takes over the speakers again and the crowd cheers rabidly.  Walter Gindin enters the ring as Camieko exits, producing a brief staredown, before he helps Jade to her feet and we take a commercial break.

WINNER VIA PINFALL AT 5:03 AND STILL WOMEN’S CHAMPION:  CAMIEKO

SEGMENT 11:  MATCH 4:  SUPERSTAR SCOTT HOSEMANN & BRIGGS VS. SPEED DEMON & JUSTICE:
Referee:  Jose Soares

The sounds of "Want" by The Cure introduces Speed Demon to the MCI Center audience as he makes his way down to the ring to a decent amount of cheers. Demon climbs into the ring and poses for the crowd as his music fades while he waits for the arrival of his partner. The volume of the cheers grow even louder when Justice arrives to DMX's "Where Da Hood At" and he raises his arms at the top of the ramp. The big man marches down the ramp and steps into the ring, then pounds fists with his tag partner. They do not have to wait long for their opponents, as "Control" by Earshot hits and the crowd is prepared heckle Superstar Scott Hosemann, who is accompanied by Briggs and Justin Schenck. The team chooses not waste a moment by dashing out from behind the curtains and charging down the ramp. They slide into the ring and immediately start pounding away on Justice and Demon.

Troy: What's their rush?!

Ferrara: C'mon ref, get some order in there!

Briggs and Demon battle it out as Hosemann and Justice spills over to the outside of the ring, continuing their battle with no regard for the referee. Briggs lifts Demon up, but Demon slips out and lands behind Briggs. He latches onto Briggs' legs and pulls hard, making Briggs plaster his face against the canvas. Demon locks in a Boston Crab and wrenches hard. Meanwhile on the outside, Justice gets the better of Hosemann with a spinebuster that makes the Superstar roll around in pain. Justice heads back to his corner as Demon lets up on the hold and tags in the former Progressive Champion. Justice storms into the ring and pounds on Briggs, then lifts him up and plants him with a back suplex as Hosemann manages to get back to his corner after a few moments of resting. Justice drags Briggs off the mat and tosses him into the ropes, but is given a big clothesline for his troubles. Justice hits the mat hard and Briggs goes to his corner to tag in Hosemann.

Troy: It looks like Schenck's group is in control now.

Ferrara: Of course they are. They're stronger and... Wait, what is this?

Hosemann goes to work on Justice, hammering him with lefts and rights while he's still down as Reaper, a former member of Schenck's group, appears at the top of the ramp. He slowly makes his way closer to the ring, and Schenck finally notices his presence. Schenck stares at Reaper for a few moments as he stops at the foot of the ramp. Hosemann hits Justice with a big sidewalk slam, while Reaper completely ignores Schenck and wanders to the opposite corner, where he stops. He stares up at Demon, who returns the stare, albeit a confused one. Demon continues to watch Reaper as if he was waiting for him to do something, but Reaper merely stands there and watches Demon. Finally, Reaper moves away and begins to head back up the ramp, but his eyes never left Demon. Utter confusion and anxiety plagues Demon. Hosemann kicks Justice in the gut and goes for the Superstar Stunner, but Justice pushes Hosemann into the ropes. When Hosemann returns, Justice uses his momentum and tosses Hosemann several feet into the air, landing him hard on his back.

Troy: Hosemann's going to feel that in the morning.

Ferrara: No need to worry, that won't put him back any.

Justice tags in Demon with a slap against the arm, but Demon is still staring at Reaper. Justice nudges him a little harder and finally gets his attention, and Demon reluctantly gets into the ring. Demon heads to the ropes closest to the ramp, mouthing words off to Reaper as Hosemann crawls back to his corner. Reaper responds with an arm gesture, attempting Demon to turn around, but it is too late. Briggs is tagged into the match and spins Demon around, booting him hard in the gut. Briggs grabs Demon and lifts him above his head, then sends him plummeting into the canvas for a devastating powerbomb. Briggs effortlessly covers for the three count.

Ferrara: And it's over, just like that!

Troy: But what was Reaper doing out here, Paul?

Reaper turns and leaves as Justice pulls Demon out of the ring, while Earshot's "Control" hits and Briggs lifts his arms high. The crowd boos as Schenck and Hosemann join him in the ring in celebration. They pose on all sides of the ring, and Schenck and Briggs slide out and begin to leave. Hosemann tries to follow suit, but Dean Nash jumps in through the crowd and rushes the ring, tackling Hosemann to the ground and pummeling his head in. Briggs quickly notices this and heads back to the ring, but Nash retreats the same way he entered, and the audience cheers him on as we go to commercial.

SEGMENT 12:  RINGSIDE:
The camera returns ringside, where Bryan Conroy is standing in the ring, which is covered with a red carpet and has been removed of its ropes, and behind a podium.

Conroy:  Alright, ladies and gentlemen, without any further adieu, it’s time to name the number one contender to the PWA Championship.  Since Jason Calysto has been taken to the hospital tonight, he is officially out of the running to be named the challenger at Walking Wounded, so would the four remaining finalists please make their way to the ring now.

Moments later, “Have You Ever Felt” by Ill Nino blasts onto the speakers and Hollywood Mike Griffin and Smooth Greg Tantalus make their way down to the ring, in tandem, to a large chorus of boos.  They don’t come alone, however, as Lauren Tantalus accompanies them down to the ring.  As
Griffin and Tantalus take their seats, “We on Fire” explodes onto the speakers and the D.C. crowd does the same, coming alive for the Hot Boy$ -- Jaguar and Romeo -- as they come to the ring in unison for the first time in months.  This time, however, the two don’t come empty-handed, as they bring resident Hot Girl and new Women’s Champion Camieko out with them.  All take their seats as Conroy proceeds.

Conroy:  Alright, since we’re running out of time with the broadcast, I’m not going to waste any time.  The man chosen as the number one contender and the man who will challenge Scythe for the PWA Championship on September 25 at Walking Wounded is… Jaguar!

The fans cheer rabidly as “I Got That Fire” blasts onto the speakers and Jaguar rises from his seat.  Romeo stands up with him, and after a moment of silence, the two pound fists and Jaguar heads to the podium.  As the music stops, Jaguar begins speaking.

Jaguar:  I’d just like to thank everyone for supporting me in getting this crack at the title that I personally feel I’ve deserved for a long time.  You know, GI Jew will contest this till the day he dies, but I know I had him at Meltdown, and I’ll always think that Mike Griffin robbed me of the Everlasting Epic shot.  But that was all made right when I beat his ass three nights ago, and now, I’ve got the shot I…

Jaguar isn’t allowed to finish speaking, however, as he is attacked from behind by
Griffin and Tantalus!  Romeo gets up and charges TFU, but Greg Tantalus catches him and backdrops him out of the ring and onto the arena floor!  Bryan Conroy looks to get involved, but when Greg Tantalus threatens to destroy Conroy’s already injured knee, Conroy simply backs off.  Camieko then jumps on Tantalus’ back to a huge pop, but Lauren yanks her down by the hair and tosses her ten feet into the announce table!  A three-on-one beatdown then ensues on Jaguar until Scythe storms down to the ring, his belt in his hand!  Mike Griffin turns around to meet a belt shot to the jaw, knocking him out cold!  This is enough of a hint for the Tantalus siblings, who help Griffin out of the ring and retreat.  Jaguar, however, is down, with no idea of what is going on.  Scythe tries to help Jaguar to his feet, but Jaguar shoves him away and holds up a fist, not knowing who it is.  However, when he realizes it’s Scythe, the fist doesn’t come down.  Scythe and Jaguar stare at each other intensely, with neither man making a move.  However, ultimately, Scythe extends his hand and Jaguar shakes it to the cheers of the crowd.  “With You” then hits as the two men look each other over, scouting one another out for their Walking Wounded collision.

Troy:  So this is it, ladies and gentlemen!  Your Walking Wounded main event!

Ferrara:  Can you feel the tension in that ring?!  I can!

Troy:  So can I!  We all can!  For Paul Ferrara, I’m Victor Troy!  Folks, we’ll see you next week!
