SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2006 * REXALL
PLACE * EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA
The FBI warning flashes onto the screen, before fading into a video that
highlights the PWA World Heavyweight Championship match between
titleholder Jackie Baccaro and his challenger, Greg Tantalus, along
with the International Championship bout pitting Romeo against the champion
Showtime Damon Savage, and the critical bout between CEO Kerry Cox and Bryan
Conroy. As the video package concludes, "Jambi"
by Tool hits and we are taken inside the Skyreach
Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where we catch sight of an elaborate orange, white, and black set,
featuring a massive jagged Jumbotron at left of the structure, centered by a
giant Animosity logo that spans the width of the stage. From there, a
tremendous pyrotechnics display ensues, with fans exploding as breathtaking
fireworks shoot through the arena! As the exhibition concludes, we are
taken to our commentators, Victor Troy and Superstar Scott Hosemann!
Troy: Hello everyone and welcome to Edmonton! Welcome to
Animosity! I'm Victor Troy, alongside Superstar Scott Hosemann, and even though
The Oilers just made the playoffs, this building
couldn't be rocking any more than it is for this PWA Pay-Per-View!
Hosemann: Animosity is one of my favorite events and this is going to be
a major event Vic! We're talking Kerry Cox and Bryan Conroy for total control
of the PWA, and Jackie Baccaro defending the PWA Championship against a very
hungry Greg Tantalus!
Troy: And that's not mentioning the big International
Championship match between Showtime Damon Savage and Romeo, and the major
showdown between Morgan Day and Magnifica!
Hosemann: Solomon is gonna take on Briggs, and the Tag Team and
Progressive Titles are both on the line as well! I can't wait Vic!
Troy: Well let's wait no more and head to the ring for our first match!
“We Who Are Not as Others” by Sepultura blares over the powerful speakers,
thumping out the anthem for the Army of the Damned, who arrive at the entrance
in full. Bishop Cross takes the lead and begins to march down the aisle
with Reaper and Loki following behind. Boos simultaneously flood the arena
as they enter the ring, but none of the men are pay it any mind. They pace
about the ring like caged animals as they wait for their rivals.
Soon enough, "Opium of the People"
by Slipknot takes over and the crowd bursts into cheers for the first Grand
Slam champion, GI Jew! He quickly walks down the aisle and waits at the
base of the ramp, but the Army does not have the patience. Loki and
Reaper leave the ring from opposite sides and close in on GI Jew, who quickly
retreats inside the ring and takes up the fight with Bishop Cross!
Jew blasts away at Cross, but the numbers game
quickly catches up to him as Loki and Reaper reenter the ring and attack the
lone man. However, “Be Just or Be Dead” by Daisuke Ishiwatari
suddenly hits and the fans breathe a sigh of relief as Scythe blazes a trail
towards the ring! The Modern Day Samurai enters the battlefield and lends
a hand to GI Jew, but the three on two is still overwhelming!
Hosemann: This is already absolute chaos, Vic!
Troy: Scythe is here to try to even the odds, but they still need some
backup!
The lights black out, and the fans break out into
tremendous cheers as “Determined” by Mudvayne plays!
Troy: And help has arrived!
Hosemann: Someone should really do something about those lights.
The lights go back up, revealing Speed Demon who begins to slug it out with
Reaper! Scythe trades blows with Cross while GI Jew and Loki tear into
each other! The battle between Scythe and Cross spills
to the outside of the ring. Meanwhile, Demon mows down Reaper with
a clothesline and exits the ring to give Scythe a hand. Reaper soon moves
to the outside as well, leaving behind GI Jew and Loki to officially start the
match.
* SIX-MAN
TAG TEAM MATCH: THE ARMY OF THE DAMNED VS. SCYTHE, GI JEW & SPEED DEMON *
Referee: Matt Hansen
The bell sounds, but the two have already been
attempting to destroy each other for several moments now. Loki whips Jew
into the ropes and looks for a running forearm on his return, but Jew ducks
beneath the arm and bounces off the opposite side, only to come back with a
devastating bulldog! GI Jew quickly peels Loki off the mat, but drills him back into it with a suplex! On the outside,
the referee finally manages to separate the two teams.
Troy: We’re finally starting to see some order in this match.
Hosemann: Yeah, but how long does that usually last?
Troy: ...Good point.
Loki stumbles back up to his feet and looks about groggily, but Jew is waiting
there with a big spinebuster that shakes the ring! Jew settles himself into a
neutral corner, waiting for Loki to rise once more. He signals out to the
crowd for the Gore, and the fans cheers in unison as they hope that Jew and
company can put this match away as quickly as it
began.
Loki gets to a knee as Reaper and Cross shout
wildly at their team mate in peril. Loki is unaware of the situation he
is in and turns around to see what his stable his saying, but Jew explodes out
of the corner and bulldozes Loki into the ground with a brutal Gore! The
fans cheer as Jew covers… one, two, and Bishop Cross and Reaper are both in to
make the save! With that, Scythe and Speed Demon also pile into the ring
and a six-man melee has broken out once again!
Troy: Matt Hansen certainly has to earn his paycheck
tonight, huh?
Ferrara: I definitely wouldn’t want to be him right now!
Demon clotheslines Reaper over the ropes as Loki gets to his feet. Cross
and Scythe also tumble out of the ring, and Reaper quickly shakes out the
cobwebs and climbs onto the apron, giving Loki the much needed tag. Reaper
stampedes into the ring and goes right after Speed Demon, but he doesn’t see GI
Jew coming at him with a violent Gore! Reaper
crumbles into the mat!
Upon seeing this, Demon gets himself onto the
apron, and GI Jew gladly obliges by tagging him into the match! Demon
immediately storms into the ring and lifts up Reaper! The dizzied Army
member swings at air, and Demon easily boots him in the stomach! Reaper
doubles over and Demon sets him into position for the Demonizer! Reaper
can’t stop it from happening and Demon plants him with the excruciating
maneuver! Speed Demon covers! One! Two! Three!
Troy: It’s over! Reaper might have had some life after that Gore,
but the Demonizer put him away!
Hosemann: What a way to make his return to the PWA, Vic!
“Determined” replays over the speaker as Loki rolls Reaper out of the
ring. Cross backpedals away with the Army as Scythe enters the ring to
join his partners, who stand tall as the blows the roof off with
cheers. Soon enough, the Army is no longer in sight. Demon stares at
his two partners before offering a simple nod to each man. He
conventionally leaves through the exit as Scythe and GI Jew celebrate in the
ring.
The two remaining men stand across from each
other and shake hands to the delight of the crowd! Scythe climbs onto the
turnbuckle and poses for the crowd, which seems happy to have the Samurai back
on the side of good. Scythe comes down and begins to approach the opposite
turnbuckle, but GI Jew Gores him out of his shoes!
Troy: Wait, what?!
Hosemann: What the hell’s going on?!
Troy: I can’t believe what we’ve just seen. GI Jew just viciously
assaulted Scythe with a Gore, and I don’t understand
why!
Hosemann: Was it a lapse of sanity? I thought those two were finally
on the same page.
The music suddenly stops as GI Jew stands over
Scythe, who writhes in pain on the mat. The fans don’t know what to
think, but as GI Jew leaves the ring and heads up the ramp, boos rain
down. Jew never turns back, and he is soon out of their sight.
As GI Jew walks through the curtain, Traci
Reed is waiting for him. He walks right past her and she gives chase from
behind as the camera bounces up and down to follow.
Reed: GI Jew! What did you do that to Scythe for?!
Jew: (Turning around abruptly) Shut up! You
listen to me, what I do to Scythe is my business and my business alone! You
people forget who started things between he and I. He
chose to jump on me, he chose to stick his nose in my
business. Well tonight, Scythe found out that GI Jew is nobody to be f*cked with, and I'm sure he'll have plenty of time to think
about stepping to me again when he coughs up blood all the way to the hospital!
With that said, GI
Jew storms away and the shot cuts back to ringside.
* WINNERS
VIA PINFALL: SCYTHE, GI JEW, & SPEED DEMON *
The camera then focuses on Victor Troy and Superstar
Scott Hosemann at ringside.
Troy: Alright folks, this has been a tremendous night of action thus far,
and the level of action and excitement is only going to increase as we move
alone. But first, folks, we're going to get you up to speed with what happened
last night in the third round of the Golden Ring tournament, the last date
scheduled for New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom.
Hosemann: That's right, Troy, and it certainly was an interesting night,
to say the least. The biggest matchup, and the one
that had everyone buzzing, was Kerry Cox against Bryan Conroy, in what was a
preview of what we have to come here later tonight. And Troy, we saw Cox pull off
a clean victory over the former owner of this company, taking away Conroy's
backup plan for if he loses later tonight. Now, with Cox's defeat of Conroy,
Cox advances to the quarterfinals this Tuesday night on Frequency, regardless
of whether or not he still owns the PWA come Tuesday, and Conroy, will go all
or nothing tonight. If Conroy defeats Cox tonight, he will enter Frequency on
Tuesday night the new owner of the PWA, having secured his company back.
However, should he lose tonight, we have seen the last of Bryan Conroy, again.
Troy: It certainly adds yet another element of intrigue and importance to a
match that was already littered with both. Additionally, we saw several matchups pitting individuals against one another who have
previous competed against each other in loser leaves the PWA matches. And the
matches saw mixed results. In one bout, Jason Calysto defeated The Machine,
just as he did to end Machine's PWA career nearly two years ago. Calysto
advances in the tournament. However, in what some view an upset, Anthony Failla
prevailed over GI Jew, reversing the fortunes from last year's Symphony of
Destruction, when Failla was sent packing. Now, thanks to the victory, Failla
will move back to Frequency, though not a contracted member of the PWA, to
compete against the man of the hour, Jaguar, who defeated James Biamonte to
earn a quarterfinal berth.
Hosemann: And Calysto will get to meet Jackie
Baccaro, the man who is still the PWA Champion as we speak, but that could all
change later tonight. Baccaro successfully ended the inspired run of one Dean
Nash, handily defeating him to advance to the quarterfinals. Additionally,
Kerry Cox will meet Rudy Montenora, who pulled off a surprisingly cheap victory
over the International Champion Showtime Damon Savage. Rudy used the ropes for
added leverage to win the bout, and he will now meet Cox, a man he has battled
with years past in CAW, in the next round.
Troy: And also, Bodycount, who stunned Mike
Griffin with a crushing victory in the second round, nearly did the same
against Greg Tantalus. In fact, it was only because Bodycount went overboard in
his beating and ended up getting disqualified that Tantalus is still alive in
this tournament and Bodycount is moving on. But nonetheless, Tantalus moves
forward, and he will meet Mike Troha, who easily defeated Henry Swanson, in the
quarterfinal.
Hosemann: And the quarterfinals will begin this Tuesday night on
Frequency. We have been told that Kerry Cox will take on Rudy Montenora, and
Jason Calysto will meet Jackie Baccaro this Tuesday night in Calgary. Then, 10 days from
now in Lima, Peru, the quarterfinals will conclude with Jaguar vs. Anthony Failla and Mike
Troha vs. Greg Tantalus.
Troy: Of course, after that, the two semifinal
matches will be held on Frequency on May 23, followed by the finals of the
tournament on May 30, to highlight the 200th episode of Frequency, which will
air live from New York City's Rockefeller Center. You can view complete results from the tournament to date HERE, and you can check
out the updated brackets HERE. The Golden Ring
tournament continues on Tuesday, but Animosity continues right now! Let's head
back to ringside!
The energy of the crowd is overflowing, and they can’t help but cheer as
“Dance of the Warrior” plays over the speakers, inviting Soaring Phoenix to
join them. The large native American trudges
down the ramp with little acknowledgement to the crowd. He steps into the
ring and stares into the crowd before lifting his arms up high, drawing more
applause from the fans.
It is cut short though, as “Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart begins and boos
pour in for Dexter P. Wellington, who arrives with Winston in tow. The
Progressive Champion adorns a well-placed smirk on his face as he cockily
strolls to the ring.
Winston quickly steps ahead and brushes the steps clean with a feather
duster before Wellington ascends them. He wipes his feet on the apron before stepping
inside the ring, and Phoenix patiently waits in the corner with his arms folded over his chest.
Wellington prances about the ring drawing the ire of the crowd, before finally
handing over the Progressive title to Tom Stevens. The referee folds the
belt over and holds it high before signaling for the bell.
Troy: There’s a lot at stake here, Scott. This match is for the
Progressive title, and Soaring Phoenix is a relatively
newcomer here in the PWA. If he misses the shot here, he might not get
another chance at the title for a long time.
Hosemann: He’s an impressive guy though, Victor. Phoenix certainly turned a
few heads when he earned the title shot in the first place.
* PWA PROGRESSIVE CHAMPIONSHIP:
DEXTER P. WELLINGTON © VS. SOARING PHOENIX *
Referee: Tom Stevens
The bell sounds and Phoenix calmly walks to the center of the ring, all the while facing Wellington, who cautiously
approaches his opponent. The two lock up and Phoenix backs Wellington into a corner where
Stevens calls for a break. The challenger nonchalantly releases the
Progressive Champ, who soon finds an opening and snaps a quick forearm
to the face of Phoenix!
This sets the challenger off, and he responds by quickly laying into Wellington with several
knife-edge and open-hand chops! The Progressive Champ has difficulty in
protecting himself from the barrage of attacks and stumbles out of the corner,
only to walk right into a hard clothesline from Soaring Phoenix! The
challenger attempts an early cover and an attempt at capturing the title, but Wellington kicks out at one.
Troy: Dex will not throw in the towel that
early.
Hosemann: If this keeps up, he might as well have.
Phoenix whips Wellington to the ropes, but the Progressive Champ quickly reverses it and takes
down Phoenix with a desperate dropkick! Phoenix stumbles back up to
his feet, but Wellington keeps firm control by nailing a hard running neckbreaker! Wellington covers, one...
two... and Phoenix gets a shoulder up to the relief of the crowd! The Progressive
Champ looks to slow down the pace of the match by locking in a sleeperhold.
Phoenix struggles to stay conscious, but his efforts are quickly fading.
The fans cheer raucously for Phoenix, but the hold wears
down the challenger by the second. Wellington shouts for the
referee to check on Phoenix, and Stevens lifts Phoenix's arm once, and it falls limply to his side. He lifts it a second
time, but it falls yet again. Stevens lifts it a third time, but Phoenix keeps it in the
air! He releases a wild war cry as the fans cheer louder, but
Wellington breaks the momentum and quiets the crowd by viciously dragging Phoenix to the mat with a
flash back neck breaker! Wellington covers, one...two...
but Phoenix gets a foot on the ropes!
Troy: Wellington employed a good strategy by trying to wear down his larger opponent, but
Phoenix just won’t stay down!
Hosemann: If Wellington can’t put him away now, he might not get the opportunity to do so again!
Undaunted, Wellington scoop slams Phoenix before bouncing off the ropes and connecting with an elbowdrop. He
wrenches Phoenix off the mat before whipping him to the ropes. Phoenix returns and Wellington leapfrogs before
both men catch each other with a clothesline on Phoenix's second
trip! Both men get up and begin to trade punches, until Phoenix blocks a right hand
and delivers a hard knee to the gut! Phoenix prepares him for a DDT, but the Progressive Champ quickly shoves him hard
towards the ropes, inadvertently crushing Stevens!
Phoenix turns around to see the referee on the mat, but Wellington finds the
opportunity to deliver a low blow to his opponent! The crowd gets ugly,
but Wellington laughs maniacally as Phoenix drops to the mat. The Progressive Champ stomps away at Phoenix before ordering
Winston to grab the belt from ring side. The butler does so and snatches
it from the timekeeper before handing it to Wellington. The Champion
waits in a corner for Phoenix to rise.
Troy: Damn it! Dex is going to steal
this one!
Hosemann: Yeah, and I don’t think that Phoenix can do much about
it!
Phoenix gets himself to a knee and Wellington licks his chops, but
he doesn’t see John Wolfe speed down the ring and slide inside! Cheers
pour from the crowd and Wellington turns to see what the commotion is, only to get mowed down by a crushing
clothesline! Wolfe evacuates from the ring as Phoenix gets back
up. The challenger sees Wellington on
the mat and wastes no time in climbing the turnbuckle!
The flashbulbs go off as he takes to the air with the Flight of the Phoenix senton
bomb! Phoenix flattens Wellington with the maneuver and makes the cover as the referee comes to!
One! Two! Yes, three!
Troy: Yes! He did it! What a turnaround! We have a
new Progressive Champion, and his name is Soaring Phoenix!
Hosemann: Sure, thanks to John Wolfe coming to his assistance!
“Dance of the Warrior” plays over the speakers as Winston
reaches in to pull out Wellington from the ring.
The Progressive title is awarded to Soaring Phoenix, who holds it high for a
cheering crowd. Soon, John Wolfe enters the ring and after the two
briefly stare at each other, Wolfe offers his hand.
Phoenix does not hesitate and shakes it, drawing several cheers from the
crowd! Wolfe poses with the new Progressive Champion,
however, it does not last long. Phoenix suddenly wraps a
hand around Wolfe’s throat and lifts him high into the air before plastering
him with his own Chokeslam!
Troy: What the hell?!
Hosemann: What just happened?! I don’t get what the deal is between
these two!
The music continues to play, but the crowd suddenly begins to boo at the
display. Phoenix exits the ring and heads up the ramp with his new title, while Wolfe
struggles to sit up in the ring with a look of rage etched into his face.
* WINNER VIA PINFALL AND NEW
PROGRESSIVE CHAMPION: SOARING PHOENIX *
We are taken backstage to the locker room area, where Nick Cade is with Bryan
Conroy and Helen Summers.
Cade: Ms. Summers, Mr. Conroy, you have entered the biggest poker game of
your career and all your chips will be on the table when you go up against
Kerry Cox tonight. Just one night after he defeated you in the Golden Ring
tournament, you must face him again, but with your career on the line. But if
you win, you will take back control of the company you created, the PWA. And
since you did lose in your Golden Ring match, you would still be on the hook
for the $500,000 payout as well.
Conroy: You're absolutely correct Nick. All the chips are down, but with
great risk comes great reward. Kerry Cox might have
thwarted my plan to win the tournament, but the real issue is right here
tonight. The PWA is worth far, far more than the half a million dollars that I
put up, and that is why my focus is on this match tonight. It has been 9 long
months since I was robbed of the company I built from the ground up, and
redemption is merely a few hours away. My career is on the line, sure. But I
remain fully confident in my abilities to beat Kerry Cox, and trust me, I have a good reason for it. Tonight, the reign of Kerry
Cox and his miserable tub of lard he calls a Commissioner shall come to an end.
Conroy then exits and Summers turns her nose up
to do the same as the shot heads to another area, where Scott Cornelius is with
the Tag Team Champions and Liz Rush.
Cornelius: Guys, ever since you won the Tag Team Championship at Revival,
no team has managed to beat you for the belts. But tonight, you face what is
unquestionably your biggest challenge to date. You face Mike Griffin, Infernus
and Alpha Omega in a triple threat match that The Legacy is sure they will win.
With the decked stacked so much against you, how can you possibly leave
victorious?
Dawkins: What can we say Scott? We know the deck is stacked, but we just
have to find a way to win. There is no strategy we can take here. It doesn't
matter which of their teams gets it done, its a 4-on-2
match and we have to find a way to win.
Renegade: That's the thing Scott. There's no way to prepare. We can't
single out one guy, because they've got four. All we can do is tough it out and
find a way. But I'll tell you this, they better not give us an opening, because
once we find it, it's curtains.
Cornelius: Alright guys, good luck. Let's go back to ringside.
The crowd begins to buzz as Missy Elliot’s “She’s a Bitch” blares onto
the speakers and they realize what is now to come. The fans burst into raucous
jeers as Magnifica emerges from behind the curtain and begins to walk to the
ring, alone, for her first match in the PWA in nearly three years. Magnifica’s cold eyes seem beyond focused as she enters the
ring and readies herself for her competition.
Troy: So here we go, Scott. Magnifica is in the ring, she is ready, and she
is about to square off against Morgan Day for the first time ever.
Hosemann: I really can’t wait for this one, Troy. We haven’t seen
Magnifica compete in quite some time, and now she’s about to go at it with a
two-time former PWA Women’s Champion, a competitor at the very top of her game,
who believes she was screwed out of the title by this very woman. But don’t
forget, Troy, Magnifica herself is a four-time CAW Women’s Champion, and
revolutionized women’s wrestling in that company. In fact, one could say that
her success in CAW is a direct reason as to why the PWA has had as strong a
women’s division as we’ve had over the years.
Troy: That certainly is hard to dispute, Scott. But thinking about all the
emotion and hatred that’s behind this match, I think we can almost toss all
that right out the window, on both sides.
Moments later, “Dead Promises” by The Rasmus
explodes onto the speakers, and the fans begin cheering thunderously as Morgan
Day makes her way to the ring, looking primed and ready to dish out a beating.
The fans are relentless in their cheering as Morgan heads into the ring, and
Magnifica quickly ducks out to not allow Morgan to jump right into an attack.
Morgan continues playing to the crowd for a moment, until Magnifica, at once,
walks into the ring and calls for the referee to ring the bell. From there,
Magnifica and Morgan Day approach the center of the ring and, with the fans
buzzing heavily, the two commence a long, heated staredown
as the bell finally sounds.
Troy: Alright, here we go!
Hosemann: What a match this promises to be!
* MAGNIFICA VS. MORGAN DAY
*
Referee: Dan Martin
Neither woman makes a charge at the other in the immediate aftermath of the
bell sounding, but rather they continue to stare each other down, jockeying for
position. However, suddenly, Morgan is clubbed down from behind by the PWA
Champion Jackie Baccaro! The fans are stunned, and begin booing raucously as
Magnifica peppers Morgan with vicious stomps to the back and spine area as Baccaro
does the same!
Troy: Oh come on! This is absolutely ridiculous! Do something about this,
ref!
Hosemann: What can he do, Troy?! Baccaro just came
into this ring and blasted Morgan down from behind!
Martin harshly warns Baccaro to leave the ring and to get away from
Morgan, but the PWA Champion simply shoves Martin to the mat! From there,
Martin sits up and calls for the bell, ending this match in disqualification
before it ever really began.
* WINNER VIA DISQUALIFICATION:
MORGAN DAY *
However, with Martin down, the attack on Morgan Day doesn’t cease; it simply
escalates. Baccaro kicks Martin repeatedly until he exits the ring, and then
turns his attention back to Morgan. Magnifica continues stomping away on
Morgan, who is defenseless, and yells to Baccaro to grab a chair and bring it
into the ring. The champion does exactly that, exiting the ring, shoving ring
announcer Lee Palmer off his chair, grabbing the chair, and returning to the
ring. Baccaro hands the chair to Magnifica as Morgan slowly gets to her feet,
and when Morgan turns to Magnifica, the she-devil cracks her violently in the
skull with the vile object, splitting Morgan’s head open! Morgan slumps down to
the mat, bleeding heavily, but the two are not satisfied. Magnifica lays the chair
on the mat, and instructs Baccaro to give her the Baccaro Bomb. The Edmonton crowd gasps in
horror as the 265-pound World Heavyweight Champion lifts the former Women’s
Champion off the mat and dismantles her with a furious Baccaro Bomb, right onto
the chair!
Troy: No! This is horrible! Morgan Day has just been decimated with a chairshot, followed by a vile Baccaro Bomb onto the chair!
She has to be hurt, and hurt badly, Scott!
Hosemann: This is disgusting, Troy! Somebody needs to stop this!
Horrifyingly, Baccaro and Magnifica are still not done. Magnifica takes
the chair, and begins to trap Morgan’s leg in it, preparing to attempt to break
her leg! However, before this travesty can take place, the fans burst into
furious cheers as Greg and Lauren Tantalus dart down the aisle, headed for the
ring!
Troy: Look who it is! Greg Tantalus, the man who will challenge Baccaro for
the PWA Championship later tonight, and his sister, three-time former Women’s
Champion Lauren Tantalus! They are here to even the odds!
The siblings dart into the ring, and Greg immediately goes after Baccaro,
waging war furiously with the champion. However, as soon as Lauren steps into
the ring, Magnifica bursts up, chair in hand, and cracks Lauren thunderously in
the skull, sending her down in a heap!
Troy: No! My God, no! Scott, Lauren Tantalus was forced to retire almost two
years ago due to severe concussions! This CAN’T be good!
Hosemann: Wow Troy, these two have no limit to the depths to which they will sink! They are
as purely evil as anyone I’ve ever seen in my life!
With Lauren and Magnifica out in the ring, steel chair-laden Magnifica
turns her attention to Greg Tantalus, who has the upper hand in his brawl with
Baccaro. Magnifica cracks Tantalus thunderously in the spine, allowing Baccaro
enough of an opening to boot his opponent later tonight in the stomach, and
drill him down with a furious Baccaro Bomb! Greg Tantalus now joins the
motionless carnage in the ring, and the fans boo vociferously, but Magnifica is
STILL not done. She tosses the chair down, and tells Baccaro to lift Morgan Day
for her.
Troy: Oh you’ve got to be kidding me! This is not right! This has to
end!
Hosemann: What the hell else can these animals do here?!
Baccaro lifts up the battered and bloodied Morgan Day, barely hanging on
to consciousness, and tosses her to Magnifica. Magnifica grabs her by the hair,
yanks it back, and begins to scream into her face.
Magnifica: (shouting) I told you to stay the hell out of my business! You
wouldn’t listen, so now I made you listen! Stay away, Morgan, and don’t EVER
come back! Vulture will never be happy, and now, neither will you! You’ve got a
one way ticket to hell, Morgan! Enjoy the ride!
With that, Magnifica spits in Morgan’s face, spins her around, and drills
her face-first into the steel chair on the mat with her famed finisher, the
Breakdown! Magnifica gets up with a sick, perverse, sadistic grin on her face,
and begins laughing maniacally alongside Baccaro as “She’s a Bitch” blares onto
the speakers. As the fans boo, Baccaro grabs Magnifica’s
hair, yanks it back hard, and plants a rough, disgusting kiss on her, which the
she-devil seems to enjoy greatly. They then raise each other’s arms, laughing
devilishly and defiantly as they exit the ring and head to the back.
Troy: Would you look at the carnage these two have caused out here?! This is
ridiculous! Jackie Baccaro’s challenger for later
tonight is out! Lauren Tantalus, who was supposed to be in Greg Tantalus’
corner tonight to offset Magnifica, is out and appears to be hurt! What the
hell is the status of tonight’s title match?! And Morgan Day is out, and looks
to be hurt very badly! Somebody get some goddamn help out here!
Hosemann: In all my years in this business, Troy, this
might very well be the most disgusting act I have ever witnessed.
Troy: Scott, I am hard pressed, at this point, to disagree with you.
EMTs then rush the
ringside area to tend to the fallen parties as the fans voice their disgust
with a rainstorm of boos and the camera cuts to the backstage area.
The camera head backstage once more, where Rick Madsen is
with Justin Schenck and Briggs.
Madsen: Briggs, it's been a long time coming. It was last September when
you shattered your leg in a match against Solomon, and now you have your chance
at redemption when you meet him tonight.
Briggs: And redemption will taste so sweet once
I put Solomon through the mat tonight with a powerbomb, but what I don't
understand is the reaction from these clowns in the crowd. They boo me,
but for what? I didn't get any well wishes or fan mail from them
while my leg was in a hundred pieces, but its wrong
for me to want to destroy Solomon because he put me out? Let me ask you
something Rick. You know all about where I'm coming from. Don't you remember
when you got Deep Freezed through a table a few
years ago?
Madsen: Yeah, don't remind me.
Briggs: It's alright, I know who'll you'll be rooting for tonight.
That's the point I'm trying to make. Solomon has been bullying people for too
damn long around here and it stops tonight. Tonight, Solomon will be bullyed. He will be beaten down and flattened
with the biggest powerbomb of all time, and you will feel what I felt big man.
You will see food disappear from your table, and then you see that these
so-called fans and the rest of the world could care less about you too!
Briggs and Schenck exit and Madsen looks on, almost approvingly as
the shot cuts back to ringside.
We return back to ringside, where White Zombie's "More Human Than Human" kicks in through the PA system to a large
number of boos. Those boo grow in volume as Justin Schenck leads Greg Price and
Steve Beovich, collectively Alpha Omega, to the stage.
Troy: Now its time for the Tag Team Title match, and with what the champions
have to face, I think its safe to say we'll see new
champions tonight.
Hosemann: With what they will be facing, you're
probably right.
As the three wait atop the stage, "Parabola" by Tool hits next,
and even more boos arise as Hollywood Mike Griffin and his brother Infernus
also walk out onto the stage. They greet their stablemates
and share smiles as Griffin's pyro erupts in the background for their march to the ring in unison.
Troy: Look at this! They're even walking to the ring together! How is this
fair Scott?!
Hosemann: The only fair thing about it is that each team here did earn
their way into this match. The problem for the champs is that they all
represent The Legacy, and it doesn't matter which team does it, they just want
to make sure they leave with the titles in their possession at the end of the
night.
The Legacy climbs into the ring and Schenck is grinning from ear to ear,
knowing his men are ready to leave with gold this evening. As they wait,
"Piggy Bank" by 50 Cent begins, and cheers
grow from the crowd as Paul Dawkins and Renegade walk out to the ramp. Liz Rush
is with the champions, and takes their titles from them as they look at each
other on the ramp and walk slowly to the ring.
Troy: The rules of this match are those of a regular tag team match. Two men
will be legal at all times with one team on the apron, and any man can be
tagged into the match at any time, provided they are not on the same team.
Hosemann: And The Legacy really doesn't need to
manipulate those rules. They have four guys that they can, and likely will
cycle through to keep them fresh at all times, until they can finally beat
Dawkins and Renegade.
Troy: The main situation the champions need to avoid is having two Legacy
members in at once. If one pins the other, they take away the titles.
Hosemann: That's the big disadvantage for the champions,
they must have a member in the ring at all times to avoid that.
The champions wait outside the ring until Jason Church can break up The
Legacy and get one man to start the match. The Legacy decides on Greg Price,
who waits inside the ring as Renegade enters to do the same for the champions.
The bell sounds and they tie up in the middle of the ring.
* PWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: TRIPLE
THREAT MATCH: PAUL DAWKINS & RENEGADE © VS. ALPHA OMEGA
VS. HOLLYWOOD MIKE GRIFFIN & INFERNUS *
Referee: Jason Church
Price easily executes a go-behind and turns it into a hammerlock. Renegade
turns into the move to reverse it and tie his own hammerlock on, causing Price
to wince a bit in pain. Renegade wrenches it further, and The Alpha makes his
escape with an elbow to the face.
Price then runs to the ropes and returns to get a hiptoss.
He gets up again and goes down from another hiptoss.
He gets up again and charges out of frustration, but Renegade sidesteps The
Alpha and tosses him over the top rope to the floor!
Troy: Out goes The Alpha!
Hosemann: But Renegade needs to watch his back at all times; he's doing
the right thing by not going out after him.
Renegade can only stand and watch as Price takes his time in getting up
and walking over to his corner. He rolls into the ring, where Steve Beovich is
waiting for a tag. The Omega steps in and locks up with Renegade, who clamps
him in a standing side headlock. Beovich presses for an escape, but the former
International and Progressive champion keeps it on tight.
Beovich backs into the ropes and successfully shoves Renegade to the
opposite end, where he gets a knee in the spine from Infernus. He swipes at him
and misses before turning around and being taken down with a belly-to-belly
suplex! A quick tag to Infernus follows, and it doesn't take long before both
The Omega and Infernus are putting the boots to Renegade.
Hosemann: Here we go, this is where the
champions' supreme disadvantage comes in.
Troy: You gotta get Beovich outta
there ref!
Vargas gets Beovich to leave the ring, but the distraction allows
Infernus to apply a quick chokehold to Renegade before covering him as Vargas
turns back to count to two. Infernus gets Renegade off the mat and drives him
back into a neutral corner before delivering a hard chop to the chest. He then
whips him into the corner where Griffin is standing, and he
charges at him, but Renegade catches him with a crescent kick! Renegade looks
out to his corner, but Infernus catches his leg on the way and trips him,
holding him down as he tags in his brother.
Hollywood gets into the ring and measures the champion before dropping a sharp
elbow to the back of his neck. Griffin then locks on a
front facelock, furthering the wear-down process on
Renegade. The crowd cheers for Renegade to get up, but he can only muster being
on his hands and knees.
Griffin mocks the crowd as Renegade struggles, but suddenly, the champion begins
to stand. Griffin holds on, but Renegade reaches his feet. Inch by inch, he begins to get
closer to Dawkins' outstretched arm, but once he gets too close, Price barges
into the ring. Vargas goes over to get him out and Renegade makes the tag to a
huge pop!
Troy: He made the tag!
Hosemann: But did Billy see it?
Dawkins enters the ring quickly, but Vargas turns back around to cut him
off and make him leave. The crowd boos and Liz Rush protests with her
boyfriend, giving The Legacy a chance to get Renegade back into a corner and
hold him there while Griffin batters him with chops and punches. As Vargas turns back to the action,
Renegade just falls out of the corner and lands face first on the mat.
Griffin goes to lift Renegade up again, but Renegade reaches up and grabs his
head to pull it down in a small package! Renegade has it hooked for
one...two...and Griffin kicks out! Griffin reaches up and tags Beovich back in, but he runs right into a
corkscrew-like kick to the forehead, leaving both he and Renegade flat on the
mat!
Troy: Renegade just scored with an amazing kick, but he needs a tag in the
worst way right now!
Hosemann: He does, Beovich has men in two corners, but Renegade
absolutely must get to his or this one will be out of reach in no time.
Both men are almost equal distances from their corners, but Beovich is
fresher and moving at a quicker pace. He manages to get Price back in the
match, but once he does, Renegade lunges and slaps
Dawkins hand to a huge ovation!
Troy: Dawkins is in!
Hosemann: And the ref saw it this time!
Dawkins enters the ring with fists of fire and drops Price by using the
right one. This brings Infernus and Griffin in, and both
brothers are put down with rights as well. Beovich hops inside and Dawkins
charges at him to clothesline him out of the ring! Griffin gets back up and
walks into Dawkins, who punishes him with an inverted atomic drop. Infernus
gets the same treatment and then they are also clotheslined
up and out of the ring!
Dawkins looks at Price and waits for him to rise a bit before hitting the
ropes and dropping a leg across the back of his head to drive him down with The
Scud Missile! Beovich climbs back into the ring and gets speared to the mat by
Renegade! As they roll out of the ring, Dawkins signals for The M.O.A.B.,
prompting a frantic Justin Schenck to hop up on the ring apron.
Troy: Get him down ref! Dawkins can put him away here!
Hosemann: Look up that ramp, that's Darrin Giles!
Troy: He's not in this match!
Hosemann: But he is in The Legacy!
As Church tends to Schenck to get him down, Giles slides into the ring
and runs into a Dawkins right hand. He fires one back and as they trade
punches, a dizzied Alpha reaches up and nails Dawkins with a low blow! Dawkins
falls to the canvas and Giles scurries up to the top rope and scores with his
signature big splash, getting major air before crashing into Dawkins' chest
cavity! Giles hops out of the ring and escapes through the crowd as Price
crawls atop Dawkins and hooks a leg for a pin.
Troy: Dammit! The Legacy, as if they needed another
guy out here, has used Darrin Giles and they're gonna steal this thing!
Church turns back around and sees Price covering, so he drops down to
count one....two....thr-but Dawkins gets a shoulder
up!
Troy: He got an arm up! Its not over yet!
Hosemann: I thought for sure this match was over! Justin is having a fit!
Schenck is nearly pulling his hair out as Price looks on in disbelief. He
tags out to Beovich, who heads up to the top rope. He jumps off for his Extreme
Precision frog splash, but Dawkins gets his knees up and connects with The
Omega's chest!
Troy: Dawkins got the knees up! Make a tag Paul!
Hosemann: The Legacy is unraveling here!
Both men are down, needing tags in a big way. Beovich manages to tag in Griffin, just as Dawkins
tags Renegade! Renegade knocks him down with a clothesline, but cannot stop The
Legacy from taking control when Alpha Omega collectively knocks him down with a
hard double clothesline!
Hosemann: There's that advantage coming back into play. The numbers are
just too many to deal with.
As the former Tag Team Champions exit, Griffin recollects himself
and tags Infernus. As he enters, Griffin takes Renegade up
and hooks his arms behind his back. Infernus steps up and takes a big punch,
but Renegade ducks away and he decks his brother in the
face! A stunned Infernus turns around and Renegade scoops him up onto his
shoulders before drilling him down with The F-U! Alpha Omega rushes in, but
Dawkins cuts them off with a tackle as Renegade covers for 1---2---3!
Troy: They won! Dawkins and Renegade are still the champions!
Hosemann: That was an amazing win Vic!
"Piggy Bank" hits again, and the crowd explodes with cheers as
the champions are handed their belts. Dawkins and Renegade join Liz on the
outside and quickly begin to make their exit as Schenck fumes with anger inside
the ring.
* WINNERS VIA PINFALL AND STILL TAG
TEAM CHAMPIONS: PAUL DAWKINS & RENEGADE *
As the match ends, Justin Schenck storms behind the curtain and runs into Nick
Cade and his microphone.
Cade: Just-
Schenck: Nick, don't even ask me what happened out there! All I will tell
you is this, within the next thirty days, those belts
are coming back to The Legacy where they belong! I don't know how I'll do it
yet, but I'll do it, and I guarantee it!
As Schenck storms off, we head to the interview area, where Traci Reed is
with Showtime Damon Savage.
Reed: Showtime, you are moments away from defending your International
Championship against a man who was defending the PWA Championship last year at Animosity.
How will you turn back the challenge of Romeo tonight?
Savage: Earlier on, I heard my boys Paul and Renegade talk about
exploiting openings and finding a way to win. Its the
same for me tonight. Lets face it, Romeo is a first
ballot Hall of Fame guy. He's held every belt in this company, only the second
man to complete a Grand Slam. That comes with a ton of respect, which I give
him. But tonight, he's got a guy who he hasn't mixed it up with before. We've
never gotten it on before to see who was the best, and
that's what we'll do tonight. I'm just gonna go out and fight my fight and once
I'm done, I'll show Romeo exactly why his time has come and gone. Its now Showtime!
Reed: Thanks Showtime. Vic, Scott, back to you.
“Trust” by Sevendust hits the speakers, signaling the arrival of
Briggs. He steps onto the stage with Walter Gindin at his side. Briggs
menacingly trudges down the ramp. However, before he can even make it
halfway down, Solomon stampedes out from behind the curtain and blindsides
Briggs to a huge ovation from the crowd!
* SOLOMON VS. BRIGGS *
Referee: Jose Soares
Gindin is terrified and unsure of what to do, until Solomon growls at his
former manager, causing him to flee for his own safety! Solomon and Briggs
brawl on the ramp, and the referee calls down help from backstage!
Troy: Whoa! The match hasn’t even started yet!
Hosemann: Oh, yes it did! It started weeks ago when Briggs attacked
Solomon!
Troy: I mean the official match, Scott!
Hosemann: Hey, I don’t hear the fans complaining!
The officials try to separate the two monsters, but both men pick them off with
ease and go right back at it! They continue to tear into each other even
as they reach the backstage area, where several crew workers and other staff
members steer clear of the moving disaster.
Solomon whips Briggs hard into the stone wall, and then proceeds to bash
his head into it to split him open! Although dizzied, Briggs still
manages to throw several well placed punches into the side of Solomon’s
face.
Even some of the PWA superstars move out of the way, some of which cheer for
the all out fight. Solomon and Briggs eventually move the battle to the
street, with neither man willing to give a single inch! However, the
local police force moves onto the scene and intervenes
into the bloody fight. It takes several officers to keep both men down and
away from each other, as the monsters now switch to verbal abuse.
Troy: That was... Wow.
Hosemann: I couldn’t have said it better myself.
* WINNER: NO CONTEST *
