A
video package airs, highlighting events that took place last week, with Jaguar
announcing his retirement, effective at the conclusion of the Golden Ring
tournament, and with the PWA Champion Jackie Baccaro and Magnifica massacring
Vulture in the ring. From there, the opening credits roll as “By_Myslf” by
Hosemann: It sure is,
Hosemann: That one should be downright chaotic, Troy!
Hosemann: And don’t forget,
With that,
Young Jeezy’s “And Then What” hits the speakers, and the
fans begin booing loudly as Da Playboi
Romeo makes his way to the ring. Romeo grabs the microphone and enters the
ring.
Romeo: I bet you’re all
wondering why I did what I did last week. And to that, I say I don’t have to
answer to any of you. But, I feel like telling you, so I’ll go ahead. You see,
Showtime Damon Savage, you became a victim last week, simply because I’m sick
of hearing about you. People are talking about you like you’re the next big
thing, and I got tired of hearing about it. People want to come out and start
calling you the most dominant International Champion; well until you beat
Romeo, you can’t begin to make that claim. I know it’s been a long time, but
people can’t be forgetting what I did with that title. So Showtime, you wanted
an answer, and now you got one. I don’t need a reason to kick your ass, but
this time, I had one, and it was because I’m sick of hearing about you.
Suddenly,
“Footprints” by G-Unit hits the speakers, and the fans begin cheering loudly as
the International Champion Showtime Damon Savage makes his way to the ring.
Showtime grabs a microphone and stands in front of Romeo.
Showtime: You don’t like
the accolades I’m getting, huh? Well, if you wanna do
something about it, why not step to my face and not attack me from behind?
Romeo: So what are you saying?
Showtime: I’m saying if you wanna come at me, come at
me like a man. Let’s do this in the ring, one-on-one.
Romeo: I was hoping you’d
say that. You want a match with me? Well I want it on pay-per-view, May 6 at
Animosity. And, I want that International Championship on the line so I can
show the world just who the most dominant International champ of all time
really is.
Showtime: You want it? You’re on, punk.
Romeo: (smiling) You just made the biggest mistake of your career.
Showtime: Don’t count on it.
With that,
Showtime tosses the mic down, “Footprints” replays,
and he exits to a wave of cheers. Showtime backpedals up the ramp, as he and
Romeo stare each other down and we take our first commercial break.
Hosemann: That should be nothing short of amazing!

BREAK --
As
we return from commercial, “Trust” by Sevendust explodes onto the speakers and
Briggs makes his way to the ring, accompanied by both his new manager Walter
Gindin, and a steady amount of jeers. The camera pans to the ring, where we see
former International Champion Tony Annetta standing inside, ready for combat.
Briggs enters over the top rope, and the bell sounds, with Annetta going hard
and fast after the Canadian Destroyer.
Troy: Alright folks, this is Briggs’
first match back after his injury here in the PWA, and it comes against stiff
competition in the form of Tony Annetta.
Hosemann: That’s right. I’ve had many battles against Annetta in the past, and
I can tell you from firsthand experience that the man is no pushover.
* BRIGGS VS. TONY ANNETTA *
Referee: Matt Hansen
The bell sounds and Annetta takes the fight to Briggs hard and fast, and
the fans get behind him. However, Annetta attempts to whip Briggs into the
ropes, but Briggs reverses the whip, and destroys Annetta with a furious
spinebuster as he returns! Briggs then lifts Annetta up and whips him hard and
viciously into the corner, so hard that Annetta smacks against the ropes and
falls right down to the mat. From there, Briggs signals with his thumb across
his throat that the match is over. Briggs lifts Annetta off the mat and drills
him down with a furious sit-out powerbomb! Briggs covers… one, two, three.
Hosemann: Briggs is back, and he is putting everyone on notice!
* WINNER VIA PINFALL: BRIGGS *
The fans begin booing as
“Trust” replays and Briggs begins to make his exit. However, as he exits the
ring, “Hear Me” by Darkseed explodes onto the
speakers and the fans begin cheering thunderously! Briggs and Gindin stop in
their tracks as they await the arrival of Solomon. However, the Alaskan Monster
does not appear in person, but rather on the video screen.
Solomon: I’m not here in the building
tonight, Briggs, not for my well being, but for yours. You want to make this
personal, attack me from behind and take me out, continue this with us,
continue this with myself and Gindin? Fine. I’m game.
But we’re going to do it on my terms. You and me. Animosity. May 6. Be there, and we’ll settle this, once and
for all.
From there, “Hear Me” replays over the speakers and the fans cheer loudly
as Briggs and Gindin converse, with scowls on their faces.
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
Back from
commercial, we are shown footage with a graphic reading “earlier today.” In the
footage, we see PWA CEO Kerry Cox conversing with The Miracle Mike Troha.
Cox: So what is it that you want?
Troha: Well, I remember last week how you said you were going to give Mike
Griffin and Infernus a chance to get themselves a shot at the Tag Team
Championship in a triple threat match at Animosity by winning a match tonight.
Cox: Yeah, and?
Troha: Well, you know how much I dislike
Cox: Didn’t you promise
Troha: I know I did, but I don’t care, Kerry. He’s not going to just move on to
the tag titles from that. I want him to realize that what I’ve done to him is
going to affect him for a while, and there is no moving on from this. I want
him to suffer. I want him…
Cox: Ok, ok. I get you. Still, you shouldn’t have claimed Requiem was the end
if you didn’t intend it to be. It’s just false advertising. But, if that’s what
you want, I suppose I could give it to you. Someone else came to earlier asking
to be put into the match and didn’t care who his partner was, saying it’s been
a while since he’s gotten to beat up on the brothers Griffin and he wouldn’t
mind another round tonight.
Troha: Who?
Cox: Why, Jason Calysto, of course. So, if you don’t mind, I think what we’ll
do is have ourselves a little match tonight pitting
Troha: Hey, I’ll take it. Sounds fine to me.
Cox: Great. Good luck tonight then.
Troha: Thanks.
With that,
Troha walks away and the video fades, and the camera takes us ringside to a
live shot of Victor Troy and Scott Hosemann.
Troy: Alright folks, as you just heard,
tonight, we’re going to see Hollywood Mike Griffin team up with Infernus to
take on the team of former rivals The Miracle Mike Troha and The Iceman Jason
Calysto, in a match where the winner will join champions Paul Dawkins and
Renegade and Alpha Omega at Animosity in a triple threat match for the gold.
However, before we get to that, let’s fill you in on what’s taken place thus
far in the Golden Ring tournament. The first two nights of the tournament took
place on Friday and Saturday night, and there were certainly some interesting
happenings. First, you can view the clean brackets heading into the tournament HERE. Now, eight matches took place on Friday, followed by eight
matches on Saturday, and you can see what happened HERE. After those matches, the brackets now look like THIS. As you can see, my colleague Scott Hosemann here turned back
the clock a bit to beat Darrin Giles and advance to the second round.
Hosemann: That’s right,
Troy: Well Scott, you’re going to take on old foe Rudy Montenora in the next
round now, how do you think you’ll fare in that one?
Hosemann: Well
Troy: Also, my old broadcast colleague Paul Ferrara won his
match and advanced, so Paul, best of luck to you next weekend against Bryan
Conroy in the second round.
Hosemann: Definitely. Paul gets another chance at Conroy after both Requiem and
last week on Frequency, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Paul go for revenge this weekend.
Troy: And in a big upset, Dean Nash defeated Jonathan
Brett, officially ending Brett’s affiliation with the PWA.
Hosemann: Yeah Troy, I was definitely shocked to see that. But maybe Nash can
carry the success to later tonight and earn himself a shot at the Progressive
Championship at Animosity.
Hosemann: Absolutely.
Troy: Alright folks, the Golden Ring tournament continues this Friday and
Saturday night at
-- COMMERCIAL BREAK --
Returning
from commercial, Metallica’s “Sad But
True” blasts onto the speakers, and the fans begin booing loudly as Bryan
Conroy makes his way to the ring, alongside his manager Helen Summers. Conroy
grabs a microphone, and the two enter the ring.
Conroy: You know, I find it amazing that
you people have the unmitigated gall to sit there and boo me,
after all I’ve done for all of you. The only reason that any of you are sitting
here in the audience tonight is because I firmly entrenched the PWA brand into
your brains. You people are ingrates in the worst sense of the word, and I will
never forget it. Now, onto my tournament. I easily
defeated Tony Annetta this past weekend in the first round, and in less than
two weeks, I get Paul Ferrara in the second round. I’ve nearly tired of beating
up on
Helen:
Suddenly,
“War Machine” blasts onto the speakers, and the fans begin cheering loudly as
the CEO Kerry Cox appears from behind the curtain, microphone in tow. He pauses
on the stage and begins speaking.
Cox: You know what? I can’t listen to any
more of this. Conroy, Summers, can you two get to the point and tell me exactly
why you’re back here in the PWA in the first place? I’m pretty sure this has
all to do with me, so just spit it out already.
Conroy: Alright Cox, you want the reason? We’re back here to show the people
just how pathetic things have become with you at the helm, and then show them
how great things could have been with me, i.e. the Golden Ring tournament. Soon
enough, people will realize what a joke you are and call for your resignation,
and then I will have my company back.
Cox: So that’s what this is all about?
Conroy: What else could it be about? I’ll never forgive you for taking my
company away from me.
Cox: Well you know what then? Let’s settle this in the ring, like men. You’re a
full time wrestler now, right? Well, I can still go too. So, if you’ve got a
problem with me, let’s go tear each other’s heads off on pay-per-view, May 6 at
Animosity!
Conroy: I suppose I can’t say no to that even if I wanted to, huh boss? You’ve
got yourself a match.
Cox: There we go. Was that so hard? So now I’ll kick your ass at Animosity, and
these people won’t have to hear you whine anymore.
Conroy: Whatever you say, Cox. We’ll see what happens at Animosity.
Cox then stares down Conroy and Summers, who stare
back ardently at him as the camera fades.
Hosemann: That IS huge, Troy! I can’t wait!

BREAK --
Back from
break, “Parabola” by TOOL blasts onto the speakers, and the fans begin booing
loudly as Justin Schenck leads Hollywood Mike Griffin and Infernus to the ring
for tag team action. The two ready themselves in the ring as “Arcarsenal” by At the Drive-In blares onto the speakers and
the boos turn to sizeable cheers as The Miracle Mike
Troha makes his way to the ring! Troha pauses at the foot of the ramp, awaiting
his partner. Several moments later, he gets what he is looking for, as “F*ckin in the Bushes” by Oasis thumps onto the speakers and
the roof nearly comes off the Dvorec Sporta Arena as The Iceman Jason Calysto makes his way out!
Calysto and Troha meet up at the bottom of the ramp, and slide into the ring
together, prompting
Troy: Alright, here we go. A berth in the
triple threat tag team championship match that already includes the champs Paul
Dawkins and Renegade, and Alpha Omega, is at stake here.
Hosemann: This should be a good one.
* THE ICEMAN JASON CALYSTO & THE
MIRACLE MIKE TROHA VS.
Referee: Dan Martin
Troha and
Infernus lock up in the center of the ring, and Troha easily muscles Infernus
down to the mat. Infernus regroups and gets back up, looking for another lock
up. However, this time, Troha simply smacks him across the face, and demands
Hosemann: Troha has been on an absolute roll, and here comes Calysto to pick up
right where he left off!
Calysto
comes in and grabs Infernus by his foot, dragging him back to the middle of the
ring and rendering him unable to make a tag. Infernus is slow to his feet, but
when he does reach a vertical base, the Iceman shoves him into the corner and
begins stinging him with hard, repeated knife-edge chops! As Infernus stumbles
out of the corner, Calysto bounces off the ropes and nails Infernus with a hard
spinning heel kick!
Hosemann: This one should be history, folks!
Mike
Griffin tries to enter the ring to break it up, but the referee stops him!
However, with the referee’s attention diverted, Justin Schenck runs over and
places Infernus’ hand on the bottom rope! The referee then turns around and
sees this, and he orders Calysto to break the hold! However, Calysto is in a
zone, not realizing Infernus’ hand has been placed on the ropes! Referee Martin
warns Calysto to break by the count of five, but the Iceman will not and cannot
listen! Martni then reaches the count of five and
calls for the bell!
Calysto
breaks the hold, and raises his arms in victory, but then ring announcer Lee
Palmer begins to speak.
Palmer: Ladies and gentlemen, due to
Jason Calysto’s refusal to break the Crossface by the count of five after Infernus reached the
ropes, the referee has disqualified Calysto and Mike Troha and awards this
match to Hollywood Mike Griffin and Infernus!
The fans boo vociferously and Schenck collects his extremely fortunate duo
and exits quickly. Calysto is furious in the ring, yelling at the referee, who
quickly high-tails it out of there after defending his call. Mike Troha now
enters the ring and gets in Calysto’s face, extremely
pissed off. Troha shouts at Calysto, and Calysto shouts back. However, after a
brief shouting match, Troha calms down and cooler heads prevail. The Iceman
then lets his guard down, which is precisely when Troha rears back and clocks
Calysto in the jaw with a brutal right hand that floors him! The fans are shocked as Troha mounts Calysto and begins
pummeling him with repeated lefts and rights! The fans begin booing loudly as
Troha then lifts Calysto up and destroys him with Divine Intervention! The
Miracle then spits on Calysto’s prone body and exits
to the back with a power-walk, not stopping for any fans, who boo at great
volume as we go to commercial.
Hosemann: I don’t know,
