MELLON ARENA

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLANIA

SEGMENT 1:  INTRODUCTION:

The FBI warning flashes onto the screen, before fading into a video that highlights several of tonight's matches, namely the PWA Championship match between Romeo and his challenger Scythe, the collision between Hollywood Mike Griffin and his former tag team partner Greg Tantalus, who has never pinned him, and the brawl between champion Anthony Failla and Solomon for the ORA gold.  As the video package concludes, "Everybody Knows That You're Insane" by Queens of the Stone Age hits and we are taken inside the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where we catch sight of an elaborate black, green, and white set, featuring an oval Jumbotron centering the structure, connected by large poles.  From there, a tremendous pyrotechnics display shoots off; fans cheering as dazzling fireworks reverberate through the arena!  As the exhibition concludes, we are taken to our commentators, Victor Troy and Paul Ferrara!

Troy:  Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to PWA Requiem!  I'm Victor Troy, along here with Paul Ferrara, and we are live in Pittsburgh for another pay-per-view extravaganza!

Ferrara:  And it sure will be an extravaganza tonight!  Troy, we've got eight huge matches tonight, and I can't wait!  What about our PWA World Heavyweight Championship match tonight?!  Former friends Romeo and Scythe will go at it with the richest prize in the industry up for grabs!

Troy:  It certainly will be a war, but how about this.  In a match that will redefine "battle of the bulge," we have Anthony Failla and Solomon colliding for the ORA Championship!

Ferrara:  I have no idea who is gonna take that one!  But the International title is on the line when Paul Dawkins defends against Jackie Baccaro, Tag Team Championship up for grabs, a Women's title match, another chapter in the Griffin-Tantalus war... could this be the night that Tantalus finally pins Mike Griffin?

Troy:  It could be... but Paul, the time is upon us.  Let's get to ringside for our opening contest!

SEGMENT 2:  MATCH 1:  PWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
PAUL EPTON & JOHN WOLFE © VS. THE LOST SOULS:

Referee:  Dan Martin
“A Violent Reaction” by American Head Charge suddenly hits, and it doesn’t take long for the audience to begin booing towards the mysterious Lost Souls. They give off a vibe of anger as they walk down the ramp. Once they head into the ring, “Stockholm Syndrome” by Muse begins to play, and while the Lost Souls sneer, the crowd pops wildly for the brand new Tag Team Champions, Paul Epton and John Wolfe. With the belts proudly displayed around their waists, Epton and Wolfe play up to the crowd with bright smiles. The Lost Souls shake their heads, completely intent on slapping the smiles of their faces.

Troy: I’m still amazed at how fast these two became the Tag Team Champions, Paul.

Ferrara: They could lose those belts as fast as they got them tonight. I think that the Lost Souls underestimated them, but now they’re more than ready to win.

Epton and Wolfe climb into the ring and pose with the belts on all four corners. They hand their prizes over to the referee, who folds them up and holds them high, as a signal that the winner will gain the gold. The ref hands the belts over to the time keeper, who rings the bell. Epton stays in the ring, prepared to do battle with Reaper. With Wolfe and Demon standing on the apron and cheering on their partners, Epton and Reaper lock up hard. Reaper chooses to cut the battle of strength short though by sending a knee into Epton’s stomach. With Epton doubled over, Reaper clubs him in the back with a double axe handle, causing him to stumble forward and eventually fall to his knees in an attempt to clutch his back. Epton isn’t given much time to breathe though, as Reaper drives a knee into his exposed back, sending Epton crashing into the mat, face first.

Troy: Reaper is slowly picking Epton apart by working on his back.

Ferrara: Even though we don’t know the full potential of these guys, I not sure if Epton can take much more.

Reaper wrenches Epton off the mat, only to send him plummeting back into it with a back suplex. Epton is pulled off the canvas once more, and Reaper tosses him into the ropes. Reaper is prepared to strike, but Epton floats over and catches Reaper with a roll up! One! Two! No, Reaper just barely manages to kick out!

Ferrara: That was close!

Troy: The Lost Souls would’ve been furious if they got pinned just like that!

Reaper stumbles back up to his feet, but Epton has already reached his corner to tag in Wolfe, prompting the crowd to cheer wildly.

Troy: Here comes the big man!

Ferrara: It’s the battle of the giants!

Wolfe storms into the ring, and the two behemoths slug away at each other with the crowd loving the sight of it! They go blow for blow until Wolfe gains the upper hand by slinging Reaper into the ropes. On Reaper’s return, Wolfe mows him down with a clothesline to the delight of the audience! Reaper gets himself up quickly, only to walk into another heavy forearm! Wolfe goes for a third time, but Reaper ducks under the arm and wraps his hands around Wolfe, lifting him up and planting him into the mat with a German suplex. Reaper rises up and bolts into his corner, tagging the outstretched hand of Speed Demon.

Troy: The Lost Souls needed that tag.

Ferrara: Now it’s Speed Demon against John Wolfe, it could be anyone’s match!

Demon steps into the ring just as Wolfe gets back up, and the two circle the ring. Wolfe makes the first move and lunges forward, but Demon steps back and trips up Wolfe with a drop toe hold. With Wolfe on the canvas, Demon gets up and bounces off the ropes for a leg drop, landing hard across the big man’s chest. Demon brings Wolfe back up to his feet and tries to whip him into the ropes, but Wolfe reverses it instead, catching Demon with a side slam! Wolfe goes for the pin cover, one, two, and Reaper rushes in to make the save for his team. The crowd boos as Reaper gets back on the apron.

Ferrara: That’s good strategy by the Lost Souls.

Troy: I’d hate to admit it, but you’re right. Speed Demon and Reaper refuse to go down.

Ferrara: And by the looks of it, neither do the Tag Team Champs.

Wolfe is peeled off the mat by Speed Demon, who proceeds to belt him across the face with punches. Wolfe does not allow this to continue though, as he begins to return the favor with fists of his own. Speed Demon sees it coming and goes for a huge forearm, but Wolfe grabs the arm and whips him into the corner where Epton watches patiently. Demon hits the corner hard and stumbles back, but Wolfe scoops him up and plasters him against the mat with a body slam! He tags in Epton, who immediately begins climbing the turnbuckle. Seeing this, Reaper storms into the ring to help his partner, but Wolfe spots him out of the corner of his eye! Reaper charges forward, but Wolfe wraps a hand around his neck! Wolfe and Epton signal out to the crowd, and the cheers run rampant! Wolfe lifts Reaper high into the air as Epton takes flight and flips in an awe-inspiring shooting star press! He crushes Speed Demon with the maneuver as Wolfe demolishes Reaper with a Chokeslam! Epton covers Demon and the crowd counts along! One! Two! Three!

Troy: They actually did it! They overcame the odds and retained the Tag Team Titles!

Ferrara: Make no mistake, Troy! These guys got the decisive win! Paul Epton and John Wolfe are the real deal!

With “Stockholm Syndrome” by Muse booming in the background, Epton and Wolfe are awarded their titles. The fans cheer wildly and cannot get enough of the Champions, who hold their arms and belts up high in victory.

WINNERS VIA PINFALL AT 9:13 AND STILL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS:  PAUL EPTON & JOHN WOLFE

SEGMENT 3:  BACKSTAGE:

The audience begins to boo when they see Hollywood Mike Griffin and Jonathan Brett, standing by with Scott Cornelius.

Cornelius: Hollywood, tonight you’ll be up against a man that you know very well, Greg Tantalus. Are you worried at all that he might actually defeat...

Cornelius trails off as Jonathan Brett begins to breathe louder, noticeably becoming angry. Griffin holds him back though.

Hollywood: Take it easy, Brett. Now, first of all Scott, you’re lucky enough to get an interview with me, so what reason could you possibly have to question my integrity as a wrestler capable enough to beat Greg Tantalus yet again? His track record against me is horrible. The man has never been able to pin me when we went head to head. I just don’t see any reason as to why anyone should doubt my inevitable victory over this pitiful excuse of a man. Even more to the point, I can’t understand why this... this person still has a job in this company! It boggles the mind! Well, hopefully after tonight, Greg Tantalus will consider going into early retirement, because he’s sure to notice that there’s no way that he’ll ever pin me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to defeat an embarrassment waiting to happen.

Hollywood calmly walks off, leaving Brett to briefly stare down Cornelius before leaving. The crowd continues its vehement shouting of obscenities.

SEGMENT 4:  MATCH 2:  DARRIN GILES VS. BRIGGS:
Referee:  Jason Church

Earshot's "Control" booms over the speakers, bringing the crowd's booing to a fever pitch as Justin Schenck steps through the curtain. Darrin Giles follows, and the cameras catch a look of intensity and determination on his face as he marches down the ramp to the ring.

Troy: Giles is looking very focused, but he is facing the 6' 6", 300-plus pound Briggs. And this isn't just any match for Briggs. It was Septemeber 21st of last year when Darrin Giles helped the rest of The Legacy use a steel chair to shatter Briggs' lower left leg and put him out of action for roughly seven months. After surgery and rehab, Briggs came back with a vengeance and he's looking to take out The Legacy one by one, starting tonight.

Ferrara: I know that is true, but at the same time, Darrin Giles is looking to take him out for good. You did say that Giles was a big part of that attack, so he knows exactly where to re-injure Briggs if he gets the chance.

Giles steps into the ring and talks with Schenck as "Trust" by Sevendust begins to play. The crowd cheers loudly as Briggs steps through the entrance and power walks to the ring. Schenck hurries out of the ring as Briggs steps in, but Giles shows no fear as he goes right after the big Canadian.

The bell sounds as Giles clubs Briggs in the back and head with successive right hands. Briggs never gains his balance as Giles rocks him with a right hand that sends him reeling into a corner. Giles stays on the attack with two hard shoulder thrusts to the midsection, but when he backs up to charge for a third, Briggs drops him hard with a boot to the face!

Giles shakes the cobwebs, but Briggs doesn't give him time to breathe. He grabs Giles up by the arm and tosses him into the same corner before giving him a hard Irish whip to the opposite end. Giles hits the turnbuckles violently and staggers forward into Briggs' grasp for a huge military press slam!

Troy: Briggs is in full control right now!

Ferrara: Briggs is in the driver's seat, but what on Earth is Justin doing?

Briggs looks to further his advantage, but stops once he spots Schenck on the ring apron. He grabs him by his sport coat, but Schenck slips away, leaving his sunglasses and Penn State Nittany Lions hat behind as he takes off. Briggs gives chase and follows him up the ramp, but he cannot match speed with his former manager as he cuts behind the curtain. Briggs barely turns around before Schenck re-appears, this time with the entire Legacy in tow as the crowd begins to boo again.

Troy: Oh, what the hell are they doing out here? I think this could be another setup!

Ferrara: I think so, look behind Briggs!

Briggs doesn't flinch at the sight of The Legacy, but he turns around to find Giles perched on the top rope. The former Progressive Champion launches himself with a cross body block, but Briggs catches him and drives him spine-first into the iron ringpost! The Legacy tries to charge, but Briggs steps forward to each of them, sending them backtracking slowly as Church gets in the middle.

Troy: Briggs just rammed Giles into the ringpost without even dropping him!

Ferrara: And there isn't anything The Legacy can do about it, the referee is right there!

Briggs rolls Giles into the ring, and the youngest member of The Legacy is down and out as Briggs motions to the crowd for his signature powerbomb. He gets Giles into position and holds up one index finger to The Legacy before hoisting Giles onto his shoulders and driving him down with a thunderous sit-out powerbomb! Briggs holds it for a cover and Church has all night to register a three count.

Ferrara: Wow.

Troy: Wow indeed. Briggs just plowed right through Darrin Giles and beat him with a monstrous powerbomb right in the middle of the ring!

Ferrara: Not just that, before he did it, he told The Legacy he's got one down, and four more to go. The Legacy is definitely a group of marked men right now.

The Legacy all leave the ringside area, wanting no part of Briggs as he makes his exit, leaving Giles in a heap on the canvas as he does so.

WINNER VIA PINFALL AT 4:27:  BRIGGS

SEGMENT 5:  BACKSTAGE:

A camera is set backstage at the interview position, where Traci Reed is stanindg alongisde Dee Licious, who is sporting her ring-worn hot pink shorts and a black and white referee's shirt, custom cut.

Reed: Dee, in just a few short moments, you will go out to the ring and officiate a match between your longtime boyfriend, Mike Grieco, and your brother, James Biamonte. I know you are supposed to remain impartial, but what are you thinking going into your unusual role in this matchup?

Dee: Traci, I don't even know. I never wanted to be in this position. I have no idea why Bryan Conroy put me in this match to begin with. It’s like he wants me to choose between James and Mike. All I know is I'm going to go out there and count to three. Hopefully the best man will win.

Reed: Alright thanks Dee, back to you guys.

SEGMENT 6:  MATCH 3:  MIKE GRIECO VS. JAMES BIAMONTE:
Referee:  Billy Vargas

The camera returns to ringside, where "B R Right" by Trina and Ludacris blasts onto the speakers and a mixed reaction meets Dee Licious as she makes her way toward the ring.  Dee, decked out in full referee garb, looks very hesitant and unsure of herself as she starts toward the ring.

Troy:  Paul, I wouldn't want to be in Dee's shoes right now.  By placing her in this situation, Bryan Conroy has essentially forced her to choose between her boyfriend and her brother.

Ferrara:  Well Troy, I think more goes into it than that.  This is Dee's first public appearance since being hit by Grieco March 15 in Las Vegas.  It's got to be a weird situation for her to begin with, but on top of that, she's in a no-win situation.  Even if she calls this match down the middle, someone is going to be angry.  I have no idea how she should play this.

As Dee stands in the ring, "Da Repercussions" by 50 Cent hits the speakers, and the fans erupt with raucous jeers for Mike Grieco as he slowly makes his way to the ring.  As Grieco steps inside. he nods at Dee and smiles, as if they have some pre-formed arrangement.  Dee doesn't immediately return the gesture, but shoots him a half-grin moments later.  Grieco is suspicious.  Then, "Still Ballin" by 2Pac explodes onto the speakers and the fans cheer wildly as James Biamonte emerges from behind the curtain.  Biamonte wastes absolutely no time, immediately sprinting down the ramp and into the ring, prompting the bell to sound as Grieco greets him with stomps.

Troy:  These two aren't wasting any time!

Ferrara:  Did you expect any different?!

Grieco is able to keep Biamonte grounded with stomps momentarily, but Biamonte quickly gets back to his feet and exchanges blows with him.  Dee looks perplexed as conflicted as Biamonte and Grieco stand toe-to-toe in the ring, trading big right hands.  Biamonte then grabs Grieco and tackles him to the mat, mounting him and pummeling him with vicious rights and lefts.  Biamonte ultimately gets off Grieco and floors him with a big right hand as he gets up.  Biamonte then grabs Grieco and whips him hard into the corner, charging after him with a thunderous clothesline that staggers him.  As Grieco stumbles forward, Biamonte downs him with a dropkick!  Biamonte has the crowd on his side as he moves in, stomping away on Grieco.  He grabs Grieco and pulls him up, slapping him hard in the face!  When Grieco lunges at him, Biamonte counters into the JB Cutter!

Troy:  He hit the JB Cutter!  It might be over!

Ferrara:  No Troy, I don't think Biamonte is done with him!  He's signaling for the Buzzkill!

Biamonte goes to lift Grieco for the move, but Grieco responds with a blatant low blow that floors Biamonte!  However, Dee Licious saw the low blow and is doing nothing about it!

Troy:  That should be a DQ!  What is Dee doing?!

Ferrara:  Well Troy, I think she's made her choice.

The fans boo loudly as Biamonte is in the fetal position on the mat, gasping for air.  Dee looks distraught and guilty as she turns her back to the situation, which pleases Grieco.  Grieco now lifts Biamonte up and begins clubbing him with deadly forearms, before whipping him against the ropes and nailing him with a belly-to-back suplex when he returns.  Greico goes for the cover... one, two, and Biamonte kicks out.  Grieco is not happy and glares at Dee.

Troy:  What is he staring at her for?

Ferrara:  I think he wanted her to count faster.

Grieco says something inaudible to Dee and continues his assault, whipping him hard into the corner.  Grieco then perches Biamonte on the top rope and blasts him with a monstrous superplex!  Grieco covers... one, two, and Biamonte again gets his shoulder up!  The fans cheer, but Grieco is now livid.  He screams at Dee to count faster, that they have to end this match and get out of here.  Dee, frightened, says nothing as Grieco turns back to Biamonte.  Grieco lifts Biamonte off the mat and hits him with a thunderous spinebuster!  Grieco then glares at Dee to count fast, and he covers.  Dee counts at a slightly fast, but relatively normal pace... one, two, and Biamonte kicks out!  Infuriated, Grieco gets up and slaps Dee in the face, screaming for her to count faster!

Troy:  Are you kidding me?!

Ferrara:  I can't believe he just did that!

Grieco turns around to grab Biamonte, but Dee, able to take no more, squats down and blasts Grieco with a thunderous low blow that sends the Pittsburgh crowd into a frenzy of cheers!  Dee shouts obscenities at Grieco as he gasps for air, and as he gets back to his feet, Dee slaps him hard in the face!  Grieco lunges at her, but Biamonte grabs him from behind and nails him with the Buzzkill!  Biamonte covers... one, two, three!

Troy:  Yes!  That's it!  James Biamonte has won it!

Ferrara:  It's about time that Dee stood up for herself!

The fans are cheering wildly as "Still Ballin" blasts onto the speakers and Dee raises the arm of her brother in victory.  However, moments later, Biamonte is clubbed down hard from behind by a forearm to the neck by Mike Grieco!  Dee now finds herself alone in the ring with an infuriated Grieco.  Dee, however, stands up to him this time, slapping him again in the face!  Dee then tries to run, but Grieco grabs her by the hair and viciously slams her down to the mat!  Grieco then whips Dee against the ropes and nearly takes her head off with a monstrous clothesline!  The fans are throwing sodas and popcorn into the ring now as Grieco lifts Dee up and puts her in position for the double powerbomb, with James Biamonte still down and out, clutching his neck!  Thankfully, before Grieco can get the move off, scores of officials hit the ring and shove Grieco away.  However, Grieco is not done yet, battling all the officials, tossing them to the mat, decking them with hard punches, and fending them all off before security finally hits the ring to restore order and escort Grieco away.

Troy:  That man is insane.

Ferrara:  He really is, Troy.  Somebody needs to do something about him before somebody else gets hurt.

WINNER VIA DISQUALIFICATION AT 7:16:  JAMES BIAMONTE

SEGMENT 7:  BACKSTAGE:

We are now taken backstage to Greg Tantalus' locker room, where Rick Madsen is sitting with The Smooth One.

Madsen: Greg, I know you've heard the things that Mike Griffin has been saying about you lately. Last Tuesday on Frequency, he said that you took the night off to dream up a way of defeating him. He said that you are already a mentally beaten man, you have never pinned him in any singles matchup you have had, and tonight, he is looking to break you down completely by beating you once again. What is on your mind at this moment?

Tantalus: Mentally beaten? Mike is right, I have never beaten him in a singles match, buttonight is not about the past. It’s not about Wrestlemania in FSW or Salvation in PWA or Revival in PWA, its about Requiem right here tonight in Pittsburgh. Mike says that I'm mentally done? Well on this given night, here in this building, I'm going to leave him mentally bloody and beaten.

With that said, Tantalus gets up and exits the room for the ring.

Madsen: Intense words from Greg Tantalus. Back to you fellas.

SEGMENT 8:  JUMBOTRON:

A video package airs, highlighting the long and storied history between Hollywood Mike Griffin and Greg Tantalus, dating back to their formative days in TFU, and all centering on the one cold hard fact: Greg Tantalus has NEVER pinned Mike Griffin.

SEGMENT 9:  MATCH 4:  HOLLYWOOD MIKE GRIFFIN VS. GREG TANTALUS:
Referee:  Tom Stevens

The camera returns to ringside, where TOOL’s “Parabola” blasts onto the speakers, prompting the crowd to burst into jeers.  Moments later, Hollywood Mike Griffin emerges from behind the curtain, raising his arms in the air as his glorious pyro shoots off.  Griffin starts down the ramp, followed by his bodyguard Jonathan Brett closely behind, with a confident look on his face.  Griffin gets into the ring and removes his robe, stretching out on the ropes, preparing for action.

Troy:  Mike Griffin looks determined tonight to take down Greg Tantalus yet again and truly reinforce the fact that Tantalus cannot beat him.

Ferrara:  There’s really no reason for Tantalus to think he CAN beat him at this point.  Griffin has been disproving that theory for years, I don’t see how tonight will be any different.

As Griffin prepares himself in the ring, “Heaven’s a Lie” by Lacuna Coil hits the speakers and the fans give it up for Greg Tantalus, who starts down the aisle with a look of supreme intensity and determination on his face.  The look on Tantalus’ face says that he will not be beaten again tonight here in Pittsburgh, and he emphasizes that by rolling right into the ring and immediately tackling Griffin to the ground, prompting the bell to ring.

Troy:  Greg Tantalus means business here tonight!

Ferrara:  He better!

The bell sounds and Tantalus wails away on Griffin, immediately trying to pound him into oblivion and throw him off his game.  Griffin slides back to the ropes and grabs them, pulling himself up.  Tantalus stalks in, looking to continue the assault, but Griffin nails an inconspicuous low blow that the referee does not see, before chop-blocking Tantalus to the mat.  With Tantalus down, Griffin locks on a side headlock, promptly trying to slow the pace of the match down and take Tantalus off his game.  Griffin has the headlock in tightly and grounds his former partner, but Tantalus has too much adrenaline pumping here tonight.  Tantalus is able to rally back to a vertical base and break Griffin’s grip, nailing him down with a big belly to back suplex.  Griffin quickly gets back to his feet, but Tantalus knocks him right back down with a running high knee!  Wasting no time, Tantalus covers… one, two, and Griffin kicks out.

Troy:  Paul, he almost had him there!

Ferrara:  Don’t be fooled, Troy.  Griffin is lulling Tantalus into a false sense of security.  Believe me, that two count was not as close as you might think it was.

Tantalus looks to keep the pressure mounted, however, as Griffin gets to his feet, shoving him into the corner and stinging him with repeated knife-edge chops to the chest.  The sound reverberates throughout the Mellon Arena, and Griffin’s chest is getting noticeably redder by the second.  Hollywood stumbles forward, and Tantalus grabs him, downing him with a hard suplex.  Instead of going for a cover, however, Tantalus mounts Griffin and begins wailing away on his face with stinging rights and lefts!  When Tantalus refuses to get off, Jonathan Brett hops onto the apron.  Seeing this, Tantalus gets up and immediately clocks Brett in the jaw with a right that sends him tumbling down!  However, Griffin scoots over and rolls Tantalus up, grabbing the tights!  One, two, and Tantalus just narrowly kicks out!

Troy:  Oh my!  Griffin almost just stole this victory!

Ferrara:  These are the kinds of things that Tantalus needs to protect against.  He is always very quick to lose his cool, and in an environment like this, that’s how he’s going to get beat.

Tantalus and Griffin both roll to their feet, but Griffin grabs Tantalus in a front waistlock and brings him over in a northern lights suplex, bridging for the pin.  One, two, and Tantalus kicks out.  Tantalus gets up, and Griffin is ready, downing him with an armdrag, hooking onto the arm when he hits the mat in an armbar.  Tantalus struggles to either reach the ropes or a vertical base, but Griffin digs his right knee into the back of Tantalus’ neck, making him largely immobile.  Finally, Tantalus is able to power himself back to a vertical base and, with the help of three reverberating chops, gets out of the armbar, whips Griffin against the ropes, and nails him with a big spinebuster as he returns!  Tantalus covers… one, two, and Griffin just gets a shoulder up.  Tantalus sees his opening and begins pouring on the pressure, whipping Griffin into the corner and following him in with a huge splash.  Griffin staggers forward, prompting Tantalus to boot him in the stomach and nail him with a hard DDT!  Tantalus hooks the leg… one, two, and Brett reaches into the ring and pulls Tantalus out of it!

Troy:  C’mon ref!  You’ve gotta do something about that!  I think Tantalus had Griffin pinned with that DDT!

Ferrara:  He might have, Troy.  Griffin looks to be out!

Tantalus gets up on the outside and Brett immediately blasts him to the ground with a huge forearm!  However, referee Tom Stevens goes to the outside of the ring, getting between them, and ejects Brett from ringside, which is met with a thunderous ovation from the capacity crowd!

Troy:  Yes!  Finally this match is evened up!

Ferrara:  Tantalus might have a shot now that it’s one-on-one!

Brett protests furiously as Stevens backs him up to the ramp, but in the ring, we see Mike Griffin reach into his tights and pull out brass knuckles!  Tantalus slides back into the ring, with the referee’s back turned, and when he goes to lift Griffin, Hollywood nails him square in the jaw with the knucks!

Troy:  No!  No!  It can’t end this way!  Dammit!  Griffin just hit Tantalus with brass knucks and this ref didn’t even see it!

Finally, as Brett leaves, Stevens heads back into the ring as Griffin covers Tantalus… one, two, thr-NO!  Tantalus kicks out!  The fans cheer wildly as Griffin screams at the official, protesting the count.  However, Griffin is done fooling around.  He signals for the Culmination, and the fans in the arena begin to get a little worried.  Tantalus gets to his feet, but Griffin is right behind him, and he slaps the hold on!  Tantalus’ air is cut off in the Culmination, but he feverishly looks for a way out.  He backs Griffin into the corner, but Griffin will not relinquish the hold.  After more tense struggling, Tantalus unleashes a mule kick, doubling Griffin over and downing him!  With Griffin dazed on the mat, Tantalus signals to the top, prompting the fans to cheer loudly!  Tantalus goes up there and dives off with his 450 splash, but Griffin moves out of the way at the last second!

Troy:  That is gonna hurt!

Griffin quickly attempts a cover… one, two, and Tantalus kicks out.  He then lifts Tantalus off the mat and grabs him, nailing him with three rolling german suplexes!  Griffin releases the last one, and sets Tantalus up in position for his diving moonsault.  Griffin scales the ropes and dives off with the brilliant maneuver, but this time it is Tantalus that moves out of the way!  Griffin smacks the mat with thunderous impact and immediately bounces up, stumbling around the ring.  Tantalus then gets up, boots Griffin in the stomach, and lifts him up for the Big O!  However, Griffin slips out and locks on the Culmination again, this time right in the center of the ring!

Troy:  Uh oh!

Ferrara:  There might be no way out this time!

Griffin applies the hold tightly, and Tantalus slowly begins to see his air fade away.  He struggles mightily in the hold that has beaten him several times before, with no intention of being beaten by it here.  Tantalus attempts the mule kick that freed him moments ago, but Griffin blocks it.  Tantalus then backs Griffin up hard into the corner, but Griffin keeps the hold locked.  Tantalus then grabs Griffin’s legs so that he cannot defend himself, and begins repeatedly bashing Griffin into the corner!  However, regardless of what Tantalus does, Griffin will not release the hold.  Tantalus puts Griffin down and kicks off the turnbuckle pads, trying to turn it into a pinning combination, but Griffin rolls through and scissors Tantalus’ midsection!  Now Tantalus is on the ground with absolutely nowhere to go!  However, he refuses to tap out!

Troy:  He’s gonna have to tap here, Paul!

Ferrara:  I don’t see any other option for him!

With his last gasps of air, Tantalus valiantly lunges towards the ropes, desperately trying to reach them.  He rallies himself toward that bottom rope, but can’t reach it, and passes out!  The referee drops Tantalus’ arm three times, and the match is over!

Troy:  I don’t believe it!  Mike Griffin has defeated Greg Tantalus yet again!

Ferrara:  And you can’t blame outside interference this time!

The fans boo loudly as “Parabola” blasts onto the speakers and a victorious Hollywood Mike Griffin stands up, smirking.  His point proven, Griffin exits to the back feeling satisfied and vindicated, leaving his fallen former tag team partner unconscious in the ring.
