PWA
OVERDRIVE

United Center

Chicago, Ill.

Saturday January 25, 2002

The PWA logo flashes onto the screen before fading away into the familiar opening montage for Overdrive. At its conclusion, we are taken into Chicago’s United Center, where commentators Nick Cade and Anthony DeBonis are sitting at their ringside positions.

Cade: Hello ladies and gentlemen. I’m Nick Cade alongside Anthony DeBonis and welcome to PWA Overdrive! Anthony, we have waited for this night ever since December 28 at Revival, and tonight PWA Forsaken is here!

DeBonis: That’s right Nick. The atmosphere is simply indescribable here in the Windy City tonight. We are just moments away from Forsaken, live on pay-per-view, and people have been buzzing for weeks about the main event of the evening, the Seven Deadly Sins match.

Cade: And speaking of the Seven Deadly Sins World title match tonight, our broadcast partner Tracie Reed caught up with one of the participants in that match earlier this evening. Lets roll the footage.

Segment 1 – Backstage

A graphic reading “earlier today” is shown at the bottom left on the screen as the camera follows Tracie to the back door of the United Center, where “The Miracle” Mike Troha has apparently just arrived.

Reid: Mike! Mike Troha! (Finally catches up to Troha) Hi, I’m Tracie Reid, the new backstage reporter. I just wanted to get your thoughts on tonights Seven Deadly Sins match.

Troha: Well first off Tracie, I’m gonna win. I would be going into the match as champion anyway, if it weren’t for Jason Calysto interfering in my match on Frequency. And speaking of Calysto, I have made it my top priority to eliminate him before I even win the championship. Some things are just a bit bigger than the getting the gold so soon, and ending his career is one of them. I thought I did just that last year at Revival when I dumped him over that balcony, but it seems as though I left just a little bit of him that I’ll have to take care of. I’ll do that tonight, but once he’s gone, its full speed ahead towards eliminating Jaguar and taking his title at the end. Now, its –20 out there, do you know a loser around here to get me a coffee?

Reid: Sure, theres a guy wearing a shirt just like mine with the PWA logo. Short brown hair, his name is Scott Cornelius. You can’t miss him.

Troha: Okay thanks. See you when I win the belt.

Reid: Thank you Mike.

Segment 2 – Ringside

Cade: “The Miracle” Mike Troha, that guy never sways in confidence category does he?

DeBonis: Not at all, and he doesn’t have a reason to. Although Jaguar pointed out that Troha actually was not undefeated in PWA, he has been very impressive in his few appearances since coming here. I can certainly see Troha walking out with the gold tonight.

Cade: Well that remains to be seen. Right now, we have Tracie standing by with another Seven Deadly Sins competitor, “Superstar” Scott Hosemann.

Segment 3 – Backstage

Reid: Thanks guys. Scott, while you have the same chance to leave with the PWA Championship as the other 7 competitors in the Seven Deadly Sins match, you are perhaps the most overlooked challenger in the match. What are your thoughts about that?

Hosemann: Well Tracie, I’m afraid that I might deserve that accolade. Straight to the point, I haven’t been getting the job done here in PWA lately. I’ve been on the losing end of things for a little too long now, and that has only served to wake me up. Although it was 10 months ago, the last time a World Championship was defended with 6 or more guys in an elimination match, it was I, Scott Hosemann, who left with the title.  Now I know we haven’t seen that Scott Hosemann in quite some time, but why not tonight? With this being the biggest title match in PWA history, maybe, just maybe, you will see the real “Superstar” tonight.

Reid: Alright thanks Scott. Good luck tonight.

Segment 4 – Backstage

The camera cuts to the wrestler’s entrance of the United Center, and the half-full indoor crowd boos tremendously at the sight of International Champion GI Jew as he arrives with his manager, Jerry Georgatos and agent, Walter Gindin. The champion sports a Chicago Bears number 54 jersey for Brian Urlacher, but is booed anyway. After shoving a man into a wall for seemingly no reason, GI Jew walks right past the camera and into his locker room as we fade out for commercial.

Segment 5 – Ringside

Cade: Welcome back folks. That was some attitude shown by GI Jew huh?

DeBonis: He’s in his usual miserable mood tonight, and I’ll tell you that does not bode well for Jon Dulberg tonight. GI Jew is one of the hottest superstars around, and I see no way for Jon Dulberg to stop that.

Cade: He’s certainly the underdog tonight. But he does have a chance to become the first two-time International Champion.

DeBonis: That’s a chance I don’t like.

Segment 6 – Backstage

The camera goes to the back to show a bundled-up James Biamonte and Trinity lumbering through the backstage area in search of their locker room, when they are stopped by Tracie Reid.

Reid: Hey guys, you got a minute?

Biamonte: (Pulling off his NFC Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers knit hat) Sure Tracie. Whats on your mind?

Reid: Well frankly, I’m surprised to see the two of you guys together on a night where you will be facing one another for the PWA title.

Biamonte: I can’t see why. You see Tracie, we have to face The Machine, Mike Troha, Scott Hosemann, Jason Calysto, Vulture and Jaguar. Those guys are some of the best this business has to offer, but not a single one of them can beat the two of us. One of us will leave as PWA Champion, and the way to secure that is to have us be the two men remaining at the end. Basically, we have each other’s backs. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have to warm up.

Before Reid can ask him a question, Trinity menacingly stares down the beautiful reporter before snapping his head away and following his partner, leaving a frightened Tracie in his wake.

Segment 7 – Ringside

Cade: Trinity looks extremely focused tonight, but what a sound strategy from him and Biamonte.

DeBonis: Yeah, working as a team will certainly be to their advantage tonight. But I have been saying for a while now that James Biamonte is the true dark horse in this match. This is the first televised World Championship match in his entire career, and I think he will be ready to live up to the challenge. He could shock the World tonight.

Cade: Speaking of shocking the world, we were all shocked during the debut of PWA newcomer, Henry Swanson a few weeks ago.

DeBonis: We certainly were. Swanson took out one of the most vicious assaults ever witnessed when he decimated Rick Delight with a sledgehammer. Now he’s looking to fight Scythe, who is the guy who has his mail order bride.

Cade: Scythe is already here in the building and we can confirm that Samantha Kim is here as well. Swanson is also here, and that will be a hotly contested matchup.

DeBonis: Scythe is a tremendous competitor, but Swanson is a madman. I’m not sure Scythe can overcome that.

Cade: We’ll find out later tonight, but in another huge grudge match, we will see Greg Tantalus go one-on-one with Mike Griffin. Only this time, Griffin will have Tantalus ex-girlfriend Michelle in his corner.

DeBonis: That’s got to be weighing heavily on the mind of Greg Tantalus tonight. I’m not sure if he is focused enough to beat Griffin with her now involved.

Cade: Griffin defeated Tantalus last month in a tremendous Hell-In-A-Cell matchup, and Tantalus has been seething ever since. It will be to close for me to pick a winner, but it will be a barnburner nonetheless.

Segment 8 – Backstage

After a video package highlights the growing tension between Tantalus and Griffin, the camera closes in on the hard-working Tracie Reid before panning out and revealing “The Impulse” standing alongside Michelle! The now 80% full crowd cheers heavily as Reid begins to speak.

Reid: Mike Griffin, tonight you will face your former partner Greg Tantalus once more. You have already defeated him inside the cell, why this match tonight at Forsaken?

Griffin: It seems to me that Greg just doesn’t know when to quit. I beat him before, and he took it out on Michelle. He has been bullying her around for quite some time now, and I got sick of it. This match really isn’t about me, its about my friend Michelle. I think of her as a sister to me, and I won’t witness anyone treat her like Greg has. I have already beaten him, but with Michelle in my corner tonight, I have the chance to humiliate him just like he did to her, and that would be priceless. Remember Greg, pain…is an illusion.

Segment 9 – Backstage

The camera goes inside the locker room of Romeo and Camieko, where she is stretching out for her Women’s title shot and the Progressive Champion is lifting some free weights when in through the door walks Jaguar! The crowd can be heard going insane for the PWA World Champion, who sports a brand-new Bartolo Colon White Sox jersey and his Championship belt.

Jaguar: Whats goin on ya’ll?

Romeo: Chillin cuz, big match tonight.

Jaguar: We all got em tonight. But theres only one person here who doesn’t have a title. What we gonna do about that?

Cameiko: I get the hint Jag. Matter of fact, I’m up next.

Jaguar: Aight, go out there and take it home. We know you can do it.

Camieko exits, leaving the Hot Boy$ time to talk.

Romeo: So what are you thinking man? You gotta defend against 7 other cats out there tonight, son you ready?

Jaguar: As ready as I’m gonna be. There isn’t a single guy out there that I can’t beat. You ready for your title match?

Romeo: Oh yeah playa. All I need to do is get that tag match won, then I can rip dude apart.

Jaguar: Do what you do pimp. I’m gonna go and get a water, you want one?

Romeo: Nah, I’m gonna stay here and watch Camieko’s match. But I’ll holla at ya.

Jaguar exits the room as the fans can still be heard cheering for the brief reunion of the Hot Boy$.

Segment 10, Match 1 – PWA Women’s Championship – Jade © vs. Camieko

The crowd is now just about full, apparently because they all wanted to get out the inclement weather outside, but a huge reaction meets the first superstar to step through the curtain, Cameiko, as she enters to Juvenile’s “Get It From Her Mama”. The new theme fits the Hot Girl well as she bounces in the ring waiting for her opponent. Soon after, “Pleasant” by Kidney thieves begins and boos pour in for Jade once she appears. The Women’s Champion is sporting silver and black tonight and apathetically hands her belt over to the official as he calls for the bell.

Cade: And the action is underway for this historic night!

DeBonis: Look at Jade. I don’t think she even cares who her opponent is tonight. She steamrolls everyone.

Camieko starts things off by looking for a lock-up with Jade, but the champion quickly scores with a reverse leg sweep. Jade follows up with an elbow drop, but Camieko rolls out of the way and leg drops Jade before she knows whats coming. Camieko rolls back up as Jade does the same and the challenger hits two forearms to the face before whipping Jade to the ropes. Jade bounces off and surprises Camieko with a rolling schoolboy! The referee counts one…two…and Camieko powers out. Camieko gets up and charges the champion, but Jade sees it coming and hits a vicious spinebuster that makes the crowd “oooh” with sympathy pains.

DeBonis: See, that’s what makes Jade the best around here.

Jade makes a cover, but Camieko escapes again. Jade hits a scoop slam and heads towards the turnbukles. After climbing to the top rope, Jade attempts a flying body press, but Camieko hits her in the chest with both knees! Jade rolls over in pain, and Camieko springs up into a cover for one….two….thre- Jade kicks out at the last possible moment! Camieko pleads with the official, and the crowd lets him hear it for what they believed to be a three-count.

Cade: I could have sworn Camieko had this match won at that point.

DeBonis: It certainly was. Jade’s lucky we don’t have instant replay.

Camieko lifts Jade from the mat, and the champion surprises her with a right to the jaw, but Camieko ducks the blow and hits a big atomic drop. Jade jumps in pain and turns right into a clothesline. With Jade now down, Camieko heads towards the turnbuckles and signals for the St. Kinard Splash! Camieko goes up, but Jade gets to her feet in enough time to hit her and attempt a superplex. Camieko manages to block the move, and soars off for a double axe handle. Jade puts her hands up, blocking the move, before connecting with a lightning-fast side effect! Jade makes a tight cover for 1---2---3!

DeBonis: And the dominance continues. I’m sold that no one will beat her ever Nick.

Cade: It was an impressive win. Even though Jade’s expression doesn’t show it, Camieko took her to the limit tonight

Winner via pinfall and still PWA Women’s Champion - Jade.

Segment 11 – Backstage

The camera cuts to the parking lot, and the loudest cheers thus far come along as the fans see the image of The Machine unpacking his bags from the ride and walking into the United Center.

Segment 12 – Jumbotron

A video clip is played from Jaguar and Camieko’s autograph session, where tickets went on sale for Forsaken. Then, a few fans voice their opinions on who will be victorious tonight, with most fans siding with The Machine and Jaguar.

Segment 13 – Ringside

Cade: Alright ladies and gentlemen, we are just mere moments away from PWA Forsaken here in Chicago. Here is the final rundown of tonight’s card.

The PWA Tag Team Championship will be up for grabs when The Archangels defends against “Brokensoul” Jon Brett and the 7-Any Power, Chocolate Wonder and Renegade, Double Ds and the Lost Souls in an elimination match!

DeBonis: GI Jew will defend the International Championship against Jon Dulberg in what could end up as a homicide.

Cade: Shut up DeBonis. Henry Swanson will go one-on-one with Scythe and the Progressive Championship will be defended when the winners of Anthony Annetta and Kerry Cox and Romeo and DJ Infernus fight it out in singles action!

DeBonis: In nothing short of a straight grudge match, Mike Griffin will face Greg Tantalus, but with Michelle in “The Impulse’s” corner!

Cade: And finally, Vulture, Scott Hosemann, Trinity, The Machine, James Biamonte, “The Miracle” Mike Troha and Jason Calysto will all attempt to win the PWA World Heavyweight Championship from Jaguar in the brutal Seven Deadly Sins match! You simply cannot allow yourself to miss all of this incredible action here tonight live on pay-per-view! There is still time left folks, call your local cable operators and order PWA Forsaken! For Anthony DeBonis, I’m Nick Cade saying enjoy the show!
