The crowd cheers as the shot goes to the interview area, where Scott Cornelius
is with The Hot Boy$.
Cornelius: Fellas, this is a sight
we haven’t seen in quite some time. The Hot Boy$ together, even though they are
about to battle each other. Romeo, let me start with you.
Romeo: Correction Scotty, let me
finish with you. The fact of the matter is this. I'm not upset that my brother
here is the PWA Champion, that's fine and good with me. But I am also the only
man in this match to have never tasted what that feels like. I'm consumed by
that feeling and if I wasn't, I'd be in the wrong business. Now I earned my way
into this match and Jag, I'm about to go out there and make the best of it to
leave here with that belt. I'll see you in the ring.
Romeo walks off the set, leaving Cornelius and Jaguar behind.
Cornelius: Well, how do you
respond to that?
Jaguar: That's fine by me. I agree
with everything Rome just said, but for me, this night is not about Da Playboi.
This is now my fourth Seven Deadly Sins match, and I have yet to win one. It
was two years ago that you were standing back here interviewing me in Chicago
right before this match and I left the United Center without this. That changes
tonight. Tonight, I have the opportunity to put on the greatest performance in
Seven Deadly Sins history. Look at the names in this match. Jason Calysto,
six-time Heavyweight Champion. Anthony Failla, two-time Heavyweight Champion
and the only man in this match to have won one of these. Scythe, Mr. Long
Distance and a former PWA Champion. Mike Griffin, four-time Heavyweight Champion.
Greg Tantalus, two-time Heavyweight Champion. Solomon, a former World Champion
who only has one loss, and we know who tagged him with that. And then there's
Romeo, who hasn't won a World Title, and because of that, is the hungriest man
in this industry. That is, besides myself. Yeah, even though I'm the reigning
World Heavyweight Champion, I'm still hungry to deliver the performance of a
lifetime. Not many people are giving me a chance to win against these odds
because this is the single greatest assortment of wrestlers ever to compete in
this match. No man has ever taken the World Heavyweight Championship into the
Seven Deadly Sins and walked out with it, and I've been a victim of that once.
But for those reasons, you will see the single greatest victory in this match
when I come out on top. With all that said, the time for talking is over.
Vancouver came out to see a show tonight, and that's exactly what they're gonna
get. I have no idea why they booked a January show all the way up here in
Canada, but it’s about to get a whole lot hotter out there when I show the
world who still has that fire.
Cornelius: Thanks Jag. Let's send
it over to Nick Cade, who is with Solomon.
The shot cuts to the locker room area, where Nick Cade is
with Walter Gindin and a stoic Solomon.
Cade: Walter, Solomon, it has been
three weeks since Revival in Jacksonville and tonight, you will finally get
your rematch for the PWA Championship. What are your thoughts?
Solomon: My thoughts huh? You're
right Nick. Three weeks since Jaguar got lucky and beat me for the title. I
could have won it back the next night, but Kerry Cox and his committee refuses
to give me my due. But the good thing about that is that everything is going to
be okay. Tonight, a terrible wrong will be righted. Sure, this is my first
Seven Deadly Sins Match, but name a guy in this match that I have not destroyed
at least once before. Name a situation where it was my first time doing
anything and I failed at it. I am the single most dominant superstar the world
has ever seen and tonight, that little bump in the road named Jaguar will be
flattened and I will reclaim my title. Let's go Walter.
Cade looks on at a seemingly serene Solomon as he makes his way towards
the curtain.
The camera shifts to the Jumbotron, where an extensive video package
airs, set to David Draiman’s “Forsaken,” highlighting the Seven Deadly Sins
match for the PWA World Heavyweight Championship, which is next.
SEGMENT XIV: MATCH
VI: PWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT
CHAMPIONSHIP:
SEVEN DEADLY SINS MATCH:
JAGUAR © VS. SOLOMON VS. JASON CALYSTO VS. HOLLYWOOD MIKE GRIFFIN VS.
GREG TANTALUS VS. SCYTHE VS. ANTHONY FAILLA VS. ROMEO:
Referee:
Tom Stevens
Outside Officials: Jose Soares, Dan
Martin
The camera now returns ringside,
where the Vancouver crowd is cheering wildly, knowing what is to come
next. Finally, the bell sounds and we
turn to ring announcer Lee Palmer.
Palmer:
Ladies and gentlemen, this next match is the Seven Deadly Sins match,
and it is for the PWA World Heavyweight Championship!
The fans cheer loudly, and their cheering only grows in magnitude as
“F*ckin in the Bushes” by Oasis explodes onto the speakers.
Palmer:
Introducing first, from the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn, New
York, weighing 221 pounds… The Iceman Jason Caaaaaaa-lystooooo!
Moments later, Jason Calysto emerges from behind the curtain, looking ready
and determined to get the job done tonight.
Calysto, wearing white thigh-length tights with sky blue trim,
powerwalks to the ring, his face etched in stone.
Troy:
Paul, take a look at the focus on Jason Calysto’s face here tonight.
Ferrara: Well Troy, it’s been a long
road for Calysto. He feels he should
have been in this very match last year, but thanks to a loss in a
loser-leaves-PWA match to The Machine at last year’s Revival, his career was
put on hold. Ever since returning in
August, Calysto has been consumed with ridding the company of the three people
that ruined his retirement, and now that it’s complete, his focus on the world
championship has been restored. I expect
big things from him tonight.
As Calysto settles in the ring, “Shoot Outs” by Jadakiss hits and the fans
begin to boo.
Palmer:
From Queens, New York, weighing 289 pounds… the self-proclaimed
“Franchise” of the PWA… Anthony Faiiiiilllllaaaaaa!
Bare-chested and wearing black warmup pants with white trim, the massive
monster Anthony Failla makes his way down to the ring, soaking in the hatred of
the Vancouver crowd. Failla enters the
ring and stares down Calysto, the man that once ended his reign of terror eons
ago in a CAW ring, as we await the arrival of the next combatant.
Troy:
Paul, Anthony Failla is the only competitor in this match to have ever
won this match before.
Ferrara: Yup, and that gives him a
tremendous advantage here. If anyone
knows what it takes to win a match like this, it’s Failla. In fact, none of the other seven have even
been down to the final three.
Palmer: From Hollywood, California,
weighing 195 pounds… Hollywoooooood Miiiiiiike Griiiiifffffinnnnnnn!
Tool’s “Parabola” overtakes the speakers and Griffin appears at the top of
the ramp, his arrival signaling thunderous pyro to shoot off from the
stage. Griffin has a new Jumbotron
entrance video, in widescreen. Hollywood
makes his way to the ring, alone, in a long white robe, reading “Yes, I am a
Movie Star” in black lettering on the back.
As he enters the ring, he sheds the robe and movie-star sunglasses,
revealing his traditional garb: white trunks, black “MG” lettering, black
kneepads and boots.
Troy:
Paul, are you surprised that Griffin is out here alone?
Ferrara: Not at all. The Seven Deadly Sins match is a big source
of pride for the roster; everyone in the company wants to be involved in it,
and everyone wants to win it. And after
the way that the last two installments of this match turned out, nobody wants
any excuses when they when either. You
can say what you will about Mike Griffin, but the man has a lot of pride.
As Griffin settles in, three D-bombs drop and the Beat-n-Ass remix of BG’s
“Hottest of the Hot” hits, prompting the fans to cheer wildly.
Palmer:
From Atlanta, Georgia, weighing 257 pounds… Da Playboiiiiii
Rooooooooo-meoooooooo!
Decked in a black shirt and pants with red and white trim and his
traditional black bandana, Romeo makes his way to the ring, not even cracking a
smile. He seems tense, focused, and
driven all at once, and appears anxious to get his first Seven Deadly Sins match
-- and first pay-per-view main event, for that matter -- underway. Da Playboi enters the ring, not even making
eye contact with any of the other wrestlers in the ring, and waits.
Ferrara:
How focused is Romeo tonight Troy?
Troy: He is definitely in the zone,
Paul. He is the only man in this match
who has never tasted the sweet glory of a world championship, and he is looking
to change all that here tonight.
With that, “Heaven’s a Lie” by Lacuna Coil blasts onto the speakers and the
Vancouver crowd explodes.
Palmer:
From Denver, Colorado, weighing 215 pounds… Grrrrrregggg
Tannnnnn-talusssssss!
Tantalus comes out from behind the curtain fired up, playing to the crowd,
slapping himself, yelling… all stuff you’d expect from Greg Tantalus. He then turns toward the ring and points
directly at Mike Griffin, leaving no doubt as to who his primary target in this
match is. Tantalus, wearing long white
tights with black design, doesn’t waste much time getting into the ring,
engaging in trash-talk with Griffin before long. The two refrain from touching each other,
however, as “With You” by Linkin Park overtakes the speakers, prompting another
exultation from the crowd.
Palmer:
From Simi Valley, California, weighing 254 pounds… the Modern-Day
Samuraiiiiii… Scyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyythe!
Scythe explodes from behind the curtain to a huge ovation, wearing his
ceremonial silver entrance robe and sporting a thick silver metallic
headband. Scythe heads right into the
ring, shedding the robe and headband, revealing his samurai-style haircut and
long silver pants with a black dragon emblazoned on them. As the Modern-Day Samurai settles himself in
the ring, blue light overtakes the arena and Darkseed’s “Hear Me” lurks onto
the speakers.
Palmer:
From Barrow, Alaska, weighing 300 pounds... the Alaskan Monsterrrrr…
Solllllll-o-monnnnnnn!
Solomon appears from behind the curtain as a blast of blue pyro shoots from
the stage and the fans begin to boo raucously.
Like Mike Griffin, Solomon has left his seconds backstage, heading to
the ring alone. Wearing long black pants
with ice blue trim, the blonde behemoth steps over the top rope and into the
ring, making everyone in the ring uneasy.
Troy:
Despite the fact that he is no longer undefeated, this man carries with
him an aura like none other. Solomon is
easily the most feared man in all the PWA.
Ferrara: And rightly so, Troy. This man has devastated pretty much every
single person in that ring in one way or another. And after that loss to Jaguar last month --
the only loss of his career, mind you -- this man is focused on regaining the
championship in a huge way.
As Solomon and the others jockey for position in the ring, Mannie Fresh’s
“Real Big” hits the speakers and the Vancouver crowd comes unglued!
Palmer:
And, from Jacksonville, Florida, weighing 253 pounds… he is the PWA
World Heavyweight Champion… ladies and gentlemen, this....is....Jaaaaaguarrrrr!
Jaguar emerges from behind
the curtain and a flash of flaming pyro shoots off. The champion, wearing a white Carrjack
t-shirt, long red pants with black trim, a black leather warmup jacket, and a
red bandana, powerwalks to the ring, anxious to finally get this match
underway. Jag sheds the jacket and
bandana at the foot of the ring, leaving just the championship belt secured
around his waist. Jaguar then enters the
ring and unlatches the belt, scaling the second rope and holding the belt high
for the fans to see. The Vancouver crowd
gives the champion a tremendous reception and Jaguar turns back to his seven
challengers, standing in the ring on edge, waiting to get things going. With that, Jaguar hands the championship belt
over to referee Tom Stevens, hoping that it won’t be the last time he touches
that gold. Stevens then takes the belt
and fastens it onto the holster that hangs from the roof. Once the belt is secure, it is raised into
the air, where it will come into play later tonight.
Troy: Paul, what do you think
Jaguar’s chances are here tonight?
Ferrara: Well, it’s a well-documented
fact that no man has ever brought the world championship into the Seven Deadly
Sins and left with it, so he doesn’t have that on his side. However, I think in this, Jaguar’s fourth
Seven Deadly Sins match -- more than any other man -- might give him the edge. Jaguar is Mr. SDS, having competed in every
one we’ve ever had, the only man to do so, but he has never even made it past
the fifth fall. I know he’s hoping to
change all that tonight.
Troy: Alright, well here we go! Paul, before we get started, why
don’t you tell the fans at home a little more about the most dangerous match in
all of pro wrestling.
Ferrara: Sure thing. Now, for those who may not be familiar with
the rules of the match, Seven Deadly Sins is contested between eight men over
seven falls, with one man being eliminated in each fall. Tonight, the
seven falls are as follows:
Seven
Deadly Sins:
1. Elimination via pinfall ONLY
2.
Elimination via submission ONLY
3. Elimination via pinfall, submission, or over the top rope
4. Elimination via knock out
5. Table Match rules
6. Steel Cage
7. Ladder
Troy: This is sure to be a
night to remember!
Ferrara: Look in the ring Troy, I think we’re about to get started!
Referee Tom Stevens confirms that outside
officials Jose Soares and Dan Martin are ready and signals for the bell,
sending the arena into a fever pitch and officially getting the Seven Deadly
Sins match underway.
Troy: Here we go!
THE FIRST SIN –
ELIMINATION VIA PINFALL ONLY:
The action in the ring is fast and furious from the moment the bell sounds,
with all eight men going at it in a huge way.
Greg Tantalus immediately spears Mike Griffin down to the mat, while
Romeo, Jaguar, Jason Calysto, Scythe, and Anthony Failla all swarm Solomon,
quickly beating him down to the mat hard.
The alliance doesn’t last long, as Scythe and Failla quickly end up in a
battle of their own, slugging it out and pounding on each other furiously. As Scythe and Failla continue to pound away
on each other, Romeo, Jaguar, and Calysto remain singularly focused on wearing
down the mighty Alaskan, trying to make him the first man eliminated. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the ring, former tag
team partners Griffin and Tantalus are engaged in a heated, knock-down,
drag-out brawl, jockeying for position, and laying into each other with
walloping rights and lefts.
Troy: There is sheer chaos in the
ring, Paul!
Ferrara: What else would you
expect?! This is it Troy! Seven Deadly Sins!
As the assault on Solomon continues, the Alaskan Monster grows angry and
begins flooring people with clotheslines and hard shots, mowing down all his
opposition like Bruce Lee in a kung-fu flick.
For good measure, with his three adversaries down, Solomon grabs Scythe
and downs him with a headbutt, before downing Failla with a hard
clothesline. However, after hitting
Failla with a clothesline, the “Franchise” springs back to his feet and gets
right in Solomon’s face, demanding a test of strength. The fans pop for this, but Solomon doesn’t
oblige, instead hitting Failla with a knee to the gut. With Failla doubled over, Solomon downs him
with a double-arm DDT and goes for the cover… but Jaguar, Calysto, Romeo, and
Scythe all stampede Solomon to break it up before the count of one. Meanwhile, Griffin and Tantalus are in their
own world, their battle having spilled to the outside of the ring. Griffin grabs Tantalus’ head and smashes it
against the steel barricade before pounding him with numerous punches to the
head and face area, staggering him.
Griffin then backs up and gets a running start at him, but Tantalus
seems him coming and backdrops Griffin over the top and into the crowd.
Troy: What tremendous presence by
Greg Tantalus!
Ferrara: These two guys are hell bent on
tearing each other apart!
Back in the ring, Solomon is swarmed with another five-on-one assault, but
valiantly defends himself, fending people off with elbows and kicks and
anything else he can use to free himself.
Calysto takes a hard elbow shot to the jaw that splits him open. Blood spills on the mat, and Calysto goes
down to a knee, in pain. Seeing this,
Scythe leaves the Solomon battles and charges at Calysto, nailing him with a
shining wizard! Scythe covers Calysto…
one, two, and Calysto just barely escapes.
Troy: Would the rest of these even
have wanted Scythe to pin Calysto there?
It’s obvious who the target is in this first fall.
Ferrara: Troy, I don’t think they would
have minded at all to see the PWA hall of famer out of here. Believe me, once they get Solomon out of here
-- IF they are in fact able to do that -- Calysto won’t be far behind. He’s extremely respected in that ring, and
rightly so.
Back outside the ring, the Tantalus-Griffin war rejoins the ringside
area. Tantalus clotheslines Griffin back
over the barricade and begins pounding him to oblivion on the outside. He takes Griffin and whips him hard into the
steel steps, before grabbing his head and bashing it against the steel
ringpost. Griffin’s head is cut open,
and Tantalus smells blood. He grabs a
chair from ringside, measures Griffin up, and swings it at him, but Hollywood
ducks and Tantalus’ chair connects with the ringpost. Capitalizing on the split-second distraction,
Griffin spears Tantalus to the ground, trying to pry the chair from his
grip. Tantalus, meanwhile, is trying to
get enough control of the chair to swing it at Griffin and knock his head clean
off his shoulders.
Their struggle continues as Solomon fights for his survival in the ring. Solomon shrugs Romeo off, backdropping him
over the top and to the outside. Jaguar
charges him, and Solomon destroys him with a boot to the jaw. Scythe runs at him with a cross body, but
Solomon catches him and dumps him to the outside. Failla charges, and also takes a boot to the
jaw. Jaguar rolls to the outside of the
ring to regroup. Solomon then grabs
Jason Calysto, lifts him up over his head, and tosses him to the outside, his
body smacking hard against the ground.
Calysto immediately clutches his ribs, in immense pain, as he lies
there.
Troy: I think Calysto is hurt and
hurt bad.
Ferrara: You might be right, Troy. Solomon is giving him one hell of a beating.
In the ring, as Solomon raises his arms in the air, Anthony Failla gets
back to his feet. Solomon and Failla
stand face to face in the ring and, again, Failla challenges him to a test of
strength. This time, as Solomon obliges,
Failla nails him with a right hand to the jaw before it can happen. Failla pounds away on Solomon, pounding him
into the ropes, before whipping him off the ropes and nailing him with a
shoulderblock as he returns. The Alaskan
Monster moves, but does not fall. Failla
then bounces himself off the ropes and hits him with another shoulderblock,
this time staggering the big man even further.
Seeing him teetering, Failla comes charging off the ropes one more time
and leaves his feet for a third shoulderblock, this time taking Solomon down so
hard that he tumbles underneath the bottom rope and to the outside! The fans cheer this, and cheer as Failla, in
a rare move, propels himself over the top rope onto a rising Solomon, taking
him down hard!
Troy: It’s a 290-pound plancha!
Ferrara: I can’t believe that just
happened!
Seeing this, Jaguar, Romeo and Scythe on the outside swarm the two fallen
giants, stomping them into oblivion.
Calysto is still writhing in pain on an adjacent side of the ringside
area, and the Tantalus-Griffin war continues opposite this. While this is all taking place, Tantalus
takes Griffin and whips him shoulder-first into the steel barricade, trying to
separate his former partner’s shoulder.
After this, Tantalus grabs Griffin and rolls him back into the ring,
looking to finish him off. People on the
outside of the ring are completely oblivious to what’s happening in the ring as
Tantalus stomps away on Griffin, trying to wear him down completely before
looking for his finisher. Tantalus grabs
Griffin and whips him hard into the corner, following up with a big clothesline
that staggers Hollywood forward. With
Griffin dazed, Tantalus lifts him for the Big O and the fans cheer wildly! However, Griffin quickly slips out and looks
for his German suplex. He grabs Tantalus
and looks for the toss, but Tantalus mule kicks Griffin, spins him around, and
lifts him for the G-Spot! However,
Griffin slips out, rolls Tantalus against the ropes into a small package and
grabs the tights for leverage! One, two,
three!
Troy: No! I don’t believe it! Mike Griffin has just pinned Greg
Tantalus! What the hell happened?!
Ferrara: I don’t know Troy, but for the
third time in three weeks, Tantalus has been pinned by his former partner!
As the bell sounds once and it is announced that Greg Tantalus has been
eliminated, all the wrestlers on the outside of the ring look on in
astonishment. Hopeful of getting Solomon
out in the first fall, Jaguar, Romeo and Scythe in particular glare angrily in
the ring at Griffin for making the pin.
Angriest of all, however, is Greg Tantalus, who kicks the bottom rope in
frustration before being escorted to the back.
Griffin merely smiles victoriously as we head to the second sin.
Troy: If they want to get rid of
Solomon now, Paul, they’ll need to make him submit.
Ferrara: That certainly won’t be easy to
do.
Troy: Is anything in this match easy?
Ferrara: Good point.
THE SECOND SIN
– ELIMINATION VIA SUBMISSION ONLY:
No time is wasted between the end of the first fall and the start of the
second, as the outside beating on Solomon and Failla continues. At this point, Jason Calysto is able to
stagger back to his feet and get back involved with the action. Jaguar enters the ring and slaps Griffin
around, before tossing him over the top and to the outside, demanding he help
them in their assault on Solomon and Failla.
However, once Jaguar turns his back to Griffin, Hollywood clocks him
from behind and downs him hard. Griffin
then grabs the PWA Champion and tosses him hard into the barricade, causing a
sound that resonates through the arena.
Meanwhile, Scythe and Romeo lift Solomon up and roll him back into the
ring. Failla gets up too, and Calysto
rolls into the ring. Griffin then enters
himself, putting six of the seven men inside the ring, with Jaguar still trying
to gain his wits on the outside. Inside,
the plan is to beat Solomon to the point of submission, and get him out of this
match as soon as possible.
Jaguar stirs on the outside as Romeo and Scythe set Solomon up in the
corner. Failla is the first to charge at
him, nailing him with a hard splash.
Griffin then charges in, nailing with a spinning back elbow that connects
hard with Solomon’s jaw. Next up is
Scythe, who charges with a spinning back kick that staggers the Alaskan
Monster. Da Playboi charges next,
nailing Solomon with a flying splash.
Solomon is seemingly out on his feet when Calysto charges with a mafia
kick; however, Solomon ducks under it and instantly blasts Calysto with the
Deep Freeze! The Iceman is completely
out after the move, the impact crushing him.
Seeing Solomon with that opening, the wrestlers in the ring look to
prevent any sort of momentum from developing, swarming Solomon again, rather
than picking apart a helpless Calysto.
Troy: Paul, why do you think they’re
leaving Calysto alone and continuing to go after Solomon? They could have Calysto out of the match if
they wanted to.
Ferrara: I think they believe that
Calysto is so worn down at this point that he’s easy prey later in the
match. They know they can eliminate him
at any time at this point, after that Deep Freeze, which may or may not be
true. However, they’re placing primary
importance right now on getting Solomon out of this match, which is definitely
a sound strategy.
Jaguar now returns to the ring and does his part to help in the attack. Jaguar calls off the other men besides Romeo
and asks Rome to assist him in a Hot Boy beatdown of the Alaskan Monster, and
Da Playboi obliges. After repeated
punching and kicking from Jaguar and Romeo, Mike Griffin steps in and demands
that he be allowed shots at Solomon too.
When Jaguar indignantly steps aside for Griffin to do just that,
Hollywood turns around and sucker punches Jaguar in the jaw. A brawl then breaks out between Griffin and
Jag, resulting in Jaguar disrespectfully tossing Griffin to the mat and turning
his back to him. When Griffin tries to
charge Jaguar for revenge, Scythe and Failla are there, nailing Griffin down
with two right hands. Griffin then rolls
out of the way, and all attention from Jaguar, Romeo, Scythe and Failla is
turned back to a group beat-down of Solomon.
Seething, Griffin sees Calysto beginning to stir on the mat and has an
idea. With the other four distracted
with Solomon, Hollywood pounces on the rising Calysto and slaps on the
Culmination! None of the others even
realize it as Calysto -- who was just regaining consciousness -- slips back
into unconsciousness quickly. Before
long, Tom Stevens realizes that the Iceman is out and signals for the bell to
be rung once.
Troy: I don’t believe this! Mike Griffin has done it again! First he eliminated Tantalus, and now he’s
eliminated Jason Calysto!
Ferrara: All the while, everyone else is
trying to eliminate Solomon!
THE THIRD SIN –
ELIMINATION VIA PINFALL, SUBMISSION, OR OVER THE TOP ROPE:
Upon hearing the bell, the four turn around and see Griffin grinning at them,
having foiled their plan twice. Jaguar
is seething with rage, and Romeo and Scythe are trying to control him. Meanwhile, Failla continues beating on
Solomon. Romeo yells at Jaguar that this
is the time to get Solomon out, where he can be eliminated just by being dumped
over the top rope. He yells that they
can deal with Griffin in a couple minutes, after they get rid of Solomon, but
right now, they all need to work together to get Solomon out of there. Jaguar agrees, still staring the smiling
Griffin down, before turning to help get rid of the Alaskan Monster. Failla lifts Solomon back to his feet, and
joins forces with Scythe, Romeo and Jaguar to try to dump him over the top
rope. However, as they attempt this,
Griffin rushes over and bitch slaps Jaguar right in the face!
Ferrara: Oh Jaguar’s not gonna like
that very much.
Troy: Mike Griffin, if I were you, I
would run… far, far away.
Enraged, Jaguar lets go of Solomon and charges at Griffin, spearing him
down to the mat and wailing on him with repeated rights and lefts to the
face. Griffin maneuvers himself to his
feet and begins running, and Jaguar chases after him as Romeo angrily screams
at Jaguar to help them out with Solomon.
Meanwhile, Solomon begins to fight back and starts elbowing his way out
of the predicament he is in with Romeo, Scythe and Failla. Jaguar is now tripped up by Griffin, who
mounts him and begins pounding away.
After several stiff blows, Griffin lets Jaguar up, shoves him into the
ropes, and charges at him… but Jaguar sees him coming and backdrops Griffin
over the top rope and out!
Troy: And Mike Griffin has been
eliminated!
Ferrara: That’s it, Troy! They let a golden opportunity to get Solomon
out go! Now they might be in trouble! With each fall, they have one less man in
there!
THE FOURTH SIN
– ELIMINATION VIA KNOCK-OUT:
When the bell sounds again, Romeo is absolutely furious. Scythe and Failla are busy battling Solomon
as the match continues, under last-man-standing rules, and Romeo approaches
Jaguar in the middle of the ring, screaming at him. He tells Jaguar that he knew the gameplan was
to get Solomon out early, when they had a lot of men in there, and at the
latest have him out in the third sin when he could be dumped over the top. Now, because Jag can’t control himself, they’ve
let that slip by, and Solomon is still alive.
Jaguar tells Romeo that if he has a problem, to bring it right
there. Romeo gets right in Jaguar’s
face, calling his bluff, but before they can touch each other, Solomon charges
out of the corner and downs them both with a big clothesline. Solomon, just moments earlier, had taken down
both Scythe and Failla with boots to the face and then charged at the
unsuspecting Hot Boy$.
Troy: Do you see what’s happened,
Paul? They let Solomon stay alive in
this match, and now look. Solomon is the
only man standing in that ring, while Jaguar, Romeo, Scythe and Anthony Failla
are all lying on the mat.
Ferrara: Yep. Not eliminating Solomon when they had the
chance could prove to be an extremely costly mistake.
Solomon looks to press his advantage now that he finally has one, lifting
Romeo off the mat and tossing him shoulder-first into the corner, sending Da
Playboi’s shoulder crashing into the ringpost.
Solomon then pounds away on him with stomps to the midsection. Scythe, Jaguar and Failla then come to their
feet as well, all trying to get Solomon away from Romeo. Solomon turns around and begins nailing them
all down one by one with stiff blows.
Finally, Jaguar nails Solomon with several stiff blows to the jaw that
sends the big man reeling. Jag has
Solomon staggered to the ropes and charges at him, sending him over the top
with a big clothesline that also takes him out as well. Jaguar and Solomon tumble to the outside
together and continue their brawling while Romeo, Failla and Scythe remain in
the ring. Romeo attempts to go outside
the ring to assist Jaguar with Solomon, but as he does, Failla grabs him, spins
him around, and nails him in the jaw with a big right hand. Romeo immediately shoots right around and
nails Failla with a shot as well, pounding on him until Failla exits the
ring. Da Playboi exits the ring behind
him and Romeo and Failla begin pounding away on each other on the outside, not
far away from where Jaguar and Solomon are doing the same.
Scythe is alone in the ring, and is preparing to exit it when the crowd gasps
and Bishop Cross comes flying down the aisle with a chair in his hand. Before Scythe even realizes what has
happened, Cross spins him around and cracks him hard in the skull with the
chair! Scythe, however, doesn’t go down
to the chair shot, and remains on his feet, dazed. Seeing this, Cross winds up and blasts him in
the skull again, this time splitting Scythe open and sending him down to his
knees. The Modern-Day Samurai is in the
middle of the ring, on his knees, and Bishop Cross knows that he doesn’t have
much left. With that, Cross rears back
one more time and cracks Scythe hard in his vulnerable skull , producing a
sickening crack that horrifies the Vancouver crowd. Satisfied, Bishop Cross exits the ring and
drops the chair, watching with pleasure as the referee counts. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight, nine… ten.
Troy: I don’t believe this! Bishop Cross has come out here, to a match
he’s not even involved in, and taken Scythe out! He has screwed Scythe out of the PWA
Championship!
Ferrara: This is definitely a real heartbreaking
situation for Scythe. It’s a miscarriage
of justice Troy, there’s just no other way to put it.
THE FIFTH SIN –
TABLE MATCH RULES:
As the bell sounds, all attention from outside the ring shifts inside, seeing
Scythe lying unconscious in the middle of the ring, eliminated. All are confused as to what happened until
they see Bishop Cross scurrying away.
Romeo and Jaguar look at each other, as if to figure out what the plan
is now, but before they can get too far into discussions, Failla and Solomon,
respectively, blindside them and roll them back into the ring. Failla enters the ring and begins stomping
away on Romeo as Solomon reaches underneath the ring and pulls out first one
table, then two tables, and then THREE tables, sliding them all into the
ring. The Alaskan Monster then re-enters
the ring, only to be attacked by a waiting Jaguar as soon as he does so. Jaguar pounds Solomon hard, beating him back
into the corner and unloading on him.
Meanwhile, Romeo nails Failla with a spinning kick to the jaw, knocking
him down hard. With Failla momentarily
out of the picture, Romeo rushes over to help Jaguar hold off Solomon. Da Playboi motions to his tag team partner
that they need to concentrate on putting Solomon through a table while they
have the chance, before things get out of hand.
Jaguar nods in agreement and keeps Solomon at bay in the corner while
Romeo sets up a table feet away.
Troy: Paul, I really think they’re
gonna be able to do it this time. There
shouldn’t be anything standing in their way of getting rid of Solomon now.
Ferrara: We’ll see Troy. I learned long ago not to count Solomon out until
the match is over.
With the table in place, Jaguar and Romeo attempt to lift Solomon with a
double suplex, looking to plaster him right through the table and move to the
sixth sin. However, Solomon holds all
his weight down -- no small feat considering the strength of the Hot Boy$ --
shifts it, and suplexes both Romeo and Jaguar simultaneously over the top rope
and out of the ring to the floor!
Solomon staggers after the move, as Anthony Failla reaches his feet. Failla rushes at the Alaskan Monster and
clotheslines him over the top and to the outside. Now alone in the ring, Failla begins setting
up the tables, looking to expedite this elimination and move on with the
match. One table in the ring is already
set up, with two others still down. Failla
stands the third table up in the corner and begins setting up one of the tables
adjacent to the other erect table.
However, as he does this, the crowd burst into cheers as GI Jew comes
rampaging through the crowd! Jew comes
through the crowd and stands in the ring, right behind Failla, waiting for him
to turn around! As soon as he does, Jew
explodes with a Gore that sends Failla plastering right through the table he
just set up in the corner! The bell
sounds once and Failla has been eliminated!
Troy: I don’t believe this! Anthony Failla has been Gored through a table
by GI Jew, who isn’t even in this match, and the plan to eliminate Solomon has
failed -- again!
Ferrara: Troy, Solomon has now survived
FIVE attempts by the people in this ring to eliminate him. It’s now down to Jaguar and Romeo to get rid
of Solomon, and there are only two more chances for it to happen.
THE SIXTH SIN –
STEEL CAGE:
Groggy, Jaguar, Romeo and Solomon all reach their feet on the outside,
realizing that GI Jew has just eliminated Failla, seeing him exit through the
crowd from which he came. Jaguar and
Romeo look at other, flabbergasted, wondering what they are going to have to do
to have their plan succeed. Ring
announcer Lee Palmer announces that the sixth sin is next -- the steel cage --
and all parties must return to the ring so that the cage can be lowered. As the tables are removed from the ring,
Jaguar and Romeo roll into the ring, followed by Solomon, who is slower to get
inside. Solomon is bleeding profusely, a
symptom of the beating he has taken all night long, and as soon as he gets
inside, he blocks out the pain and begins fighting back against the swarming
assault of both Jaguar and Romeo. As
Solomon attempts to battle Jaguar and Romeo alone, the steel cage lowers, and
all three men are trapped inside.
Troy: The rules here are simple. Right now, it’s pin, submission or
escape. If someone escapes, they
immediately advance to the seventh sin, the ladder match, while the other two
fight it out in a standard cage match for the right to advance as well. If someone in pinned or made submit, however,
that person is eliminated, and the other two automatically advance to the
ladder match.
Ferrara: Troy, I would say that, even
though, I can’t count out Solomon, Jaguar and Romeo do have a great chance of
eliminating him here. He’s worn out,
beaten down… he’s not an endurance machine, he HAS to be getting tired.
Jaguar and Romeo work as a well-oiled machine in the ring, beating down
Solomon hard, downing him with a double clothesline and pounding away on him
with furious stomps. Romeo then attempts
a pin on Solomon, and Jaguar gets on top of Romeo for extra weight… one, two,
thr-and Solomon kicks out! They attempt
the pin again, this time with Jaguar on the bottom and Romeo on top… one, two,
thr-and Solomon kicks out again! The Hot
Boy$ get up, and Romeo tells Jaguar that they need to start hitting him with
finishers. He signals for the Heatwave
and the fans cheer wildly.
Troy: They’re going for the Heatwave! If they hit this move, I don’t see how
Solomon could get up!
Ferrara: Either way, he’ll stay down
long enough for both Jaguar and Romeo to walk out the door and move on to the
last fall. I think it’s pretty safe to
say here that if they can land this move, the Hot Boy$ will be facing each
other for the PWA Championship in just a few moments.
Jaguar scales to the top rope as Romeo, in an amazing feat of strength,
lifts Solomon up and onto his shoulders.
Jaguar leaps off with the move… but Solomon somehow catches him in
mid-air! The extra weight from Jaguar
causes Romeo to buckle and they all fall down.
Romeo is clutching his shoulder on the mat as Solomon and Jaguar stumble
to their feet. The two exchange blows
viciously, before Jaguar grabs Solomon and tries to whip him into the
cage. However, Solomon reverses the
momentum in a huge way and sends Jaguar crashing hard into the cage… so hard
that the PWA Champion blasts right through the cage door and tumbles to the
outside of the ring!
Troy: What?! My God, what just happened?!
Ferrara: Troy, Jaguar has just advanced
to the seventh sin, but he’s left Romeo alone in there with Solomon! If Romeo wants to advance to the finals, he’s
gonna have to beat Solomon all by himself!
Solomon drops to a knee in exhaustion after the elimination, and Romeo sits
up when he realizes what has happened.
Romeo is absolutely livid when he comprehends that he is now alone in
there with Solomon, likely not yet realizing that Jaguar didn’t leave the cage
voluntarily. However, Da Playboi quickly
adapts to the situation, springing to his feet and attacking the Alaskan
Monster with everything he’s got left.
Solomon, however, has something left in his tank as well, and brings it
right to Romeo. The two begin exchanging
fists furiously in the middle of the cage, each man wanting desperately to take
down the other and make it to the final stage of this hellacious match. After a back-and-forth series of blows, Romeo
emerges with the advantage and, in one fell swoop, boots Solomon in the stomach
and sets him up for Dre Day. Romeo
attempts to lift him for it, but the shoulder he injured minutes ago won’t
allow it. Solomon quickly counters the
move, backdropping Romeo down. Then, as
Romeo rises to his feet, Solomon scoops him up in a desperation Deep Freeze,
and blasts him with thunderous impact.
Falling back in exhaustion, Solomon covers Romeo… one, two, three.
Troy: I don’t believe this! Solomon survives AGAIN!
Ferrara: And this time, he has gotten
himself one step away from regaining the PWA Championship! It was an unfortunate series of events for
the Hot Boy$, but Romeo is now eliminated, and it’s down to two! It’s Jaguar and Solomon, the PWA Championship
on the line! A rematch from Revival, and
it’s gonna be a ladder match!
THE SEVENTH SIN
– LADDER:
The steel cage is then lifted and the holster holding the PWA Championship belt
descended to 15 feet above the ring.
Solomon is losing a massive amount of blood and is crawling around the
ring, trying to get himself back to his feet.
Meanwhile, Jaguar, after having had a breather, is pulling ladders out
from underneath the ring. Romeo then
gets himself up, groggy, and rolls out of the ring, his chance at the World
Heavyweight Championship over. Upon
reaching the outside, Romeo spins Jaguar around and angrily gets in his
face. The two stare each other down,
neither making a move. Jaguar says
nothing to Romeo, staring blankly at him, while Da Playboi’s face is filled
with rage. Finally, after several tense
moments, Romeo turns around and angrily exits the ringside area. No words were spoken.
Troy: Paul, it seems Jaguar has some
major damage control to do once this match is over.
Ferrara: You’re probably right, but
now’s not the time for him to be thinking about that. If he spends his time being focused on Romeo
being angry with him, he’s going to lose the title to Solomon. For Jaguar to come this close to retaining
the title and failing would be heartbreaking.
Troy: You know, as hard as it is to say,
I think if you’re Solomon, you’re just as heartbroken if you lose. The whole ring has been out to get him all
night, and now it’s just one guy that he has to battle, one guy standing in the
way of regaining the championship, the same guy who took the belt from him in
the first place.
Clearly disturbed, Jaguar stares back at the entryway as Romeo completes
his exit. He then turns back to the task
at hand and steps into the ring. Two
ladders have been rolled into the ring and Solomon is still yet to reach his
feet. Jaguar looks to capitalize on
this, hitting Solomon with hard knees to the ribs, trying desperately to keep
the monster grounded. However, Solomon,
on an apparent burst of adrenaline, wills himself back to his feet and begins
battling Jaguar with every ounce of his will.
Solomon grabs Jaguar and hurls him back into the corner, sending the
champion’s face colliding with the top turnbuckle hard. Jaguar goes down to a knee, and Solomon
begins trying to set up one of the ladders.
He sets the ladder into position, but right before being able to start
climbing it, Jaguar grabs the other ladder off the mat and wields it at
Solomon, nailing him right in the jaw with it!
Solomon is sent down to a knee with the impact of the blow, giving
Jaguar time to set up the other ladder right next to Solomon’s. Both ladders are in position to grab the
championship belt, and by the time Jaguar begins climbing, Solomon shakes off
the blow of the ladder shot and begins climbing himself.
Troy: And it’s come down to this! It’s a race to the top!
Ferrara: Troy, it looks like the first
man to reach the top of the ladder could leave here with the PWA Championship!
Jaguar is a little ahead of Solomon at first, but the Alaskan Monster
quickly catches up, going up two rungs at a time. Solomon is the first man to the top of the
ladder and reaches out for the belt. He
gets a hand on it. However, Jaguar gets to
the top and smacks Solomon’s hand away!
Solomon then nails Jaguar with a stiff right hand! Jaguar responds with the same!
Troy: They’re battling it out at the
top of the ladders, mere inches from the belt!
Solomon then nails Jaguar with a shot so hard that Jaguar slumps down on
his ladder. This is the only opening
Solomon needs, reaching out and grabbing a handful of belt. Solomon has his hand wrapped around the belt
and begins unlatching it… but with one last desperation push, Jaguar shoves
Solomon’s ladder! The ladder begins to
teeter as Solomon tries to undo the belt!
Finally, as the ladder gives and Solomon begins tumbling down, he gets
the belt unhooked! However, Solomon and
the ladder tumble to the mat, without the belt!
The belt falls from the harness… and Jaguar reaches out and snatches the
belt from midair, falling from the ladder in the process and landing in the
center of the ring, cradling the title!
Troy: That’s it! That’s it!
It’s over! Jaguar has retained
the championship!
Ferrara: I don’t believe it! What a display!
The PNE Coliseum literally comes unglued as the bell sounds and Jaguar is
announced as being STILL the PWA World Heavyweight Champion. “Real Big” hits the speakers and the cheers
in Vancouver are deafening. Both Solomon
and Jaguar are completely motionless in the ring, physically devastated after a
70-minute war. Confetti begins falling
from the rafters as the “Jaguar” chants overtake the arena. The camera then shifts to the top of the
stage, where numerous PWA wrestlers have emerged, applauding Jaguar’s efforts. The man at the front of the line, however, is
not clapping. He is simply standing
there, a look of anger on his face. His
name is Romeo. Fade out.
WINNER AT 72:38 AND STILL PWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT
CHAMPION: JAGUAR
