the title hunt and have a rematch clause in their contract. They’ll be in action tonight, but next week,

moments to determine the challenger to JON DULBERG’s NYCW Championship next Thursday at
the “Night of Champions” from the Hammerstein Ballroom inside a steel cage. BRIGGS states that everyone has been talking
about RYAN KNAKAL, and KNAKAL’s destiny to
become champion. He says that no one
has been talking about FRANK BRIGGS’ destiny, FRANK BRIGGS’ struggle. BRIGGS states that he
is going to head to the ring and show the world why FRANK BRIGGS cannot be
overlooked.
* MATCH 7
– NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP – FRANK BRIGGS VS. RYAN “THE BOSS” KNAKAL (Referee: Jim Parris):
NYCW
Champion JON DULBERG joined JUSTIN SCHENCK and FERNANDO RAMIREZ for color
commentary in this one, arriving to a huge ovation. KNAKAL controlled most of this match, attacking BRIGGS from
behind early and maintaining the advantage.
However, BRIGGS soon powered back into the contest, energizing the crowd
that, over the past few weeks, has single-handedly turned BRIGGS into a
babyface. BRIGGS feeds off the newfound
energy of the fans as he hits a gorilla press slam and an enziguri, getting two
counts on both occasions, and then prepares to hit KNAKAL with the top rope
powerbomb and win the match. However, KNAKAL
deliberately takes out the referee before BRIGGS can hit the move, and then
takes BRIGGS down with a low blow afterwards.
KNAKAL then exits the ring and returns with a steel chair, preparing to
finish off BRIGGS unbeknownst to the official.
However, JON DULBERG leaves the commentary booth, grabs the chair from
KNAKAL, and blasts him in the skull! DULBERG
then exits the ring and BRIGGS crawls onto KNAKAL for the one, two, three! The camera cuts to a shot of the wide smile
on the face of JON DULBERG as FRANK BRIGGS gets to his feet, having emerged
victorious with the chance of a lifetime in seven days at the “Night of
Champions” at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
