PWA Progressive Champion
Bio: Despite his status as one of the smallest members of the PWA roster, Paul Epton's dazzling aerial assault has enabled him to carve out a successful role in the company. Alongside fellow Englishman John Wolfe, Epton won the PWA Tag Team Championship on two separate occasions, with the pair working the power-speed formula to perfection. Though the two amicably split in the spring of 2006 to pursue other goals, Epton and Wolfe were reunited for PWA: The Rebirth. However, this attempt at glory was not nearly as successful. Wolfe turned his back on his partner during the second half of the season and soundly defeated Epton at Everlasting Epic VI. In the second season, Epton rebounded in a huge way, entering the resurrected cruiserweight division and winning its Progressive Championship. He reigned for nearly half the season before he was cost the title by newcomer Fenix Clarke, who brought with them a figure from Epton’s past: his ex-girlfriend Emily Walker. Proving that indeed hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, Emily stalled Epton’s career for much of the second half of the season, ultimately finding a way to force Epton into hiring her as his manager. Under the guise of helping his career, Walker set Epton and Clarke up in a match against Paul Dawkins & Renegade at Everlasting Epic VII, only to instruct Clarke to abandon Epton and feed him to the wolves. If that’s any indication of what Epton is in for with Emily in his corner, he is in for a long third season.
